Shares of Waaree Energies gained 8.4% in the last two trading sessions after its U.S.-based subsidiary secured a 540 megawatt (MW) solar module supply contract from a major American developer of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects.The deal, finalized on June 27, will be executed through a one-time international supply arrangement. Waaree Solar Americas will deliver 270 MW of modules in 2025, with the remaining 270 MW scheduled for 2027–2028, the company disclosed in a stock exchange filing on Friday.This latest deal adds to Waaree's recent string of international wins. In the past few weeks, the company has secured two other large U.S. orders, one for 586 MW and another for 599 MW of solar modules. The flurry of contracts comes as Waaree looks to ramp up its presence in the North American market.The company is also doubling its manufacturing capacity at its Brookshire, Texas, facility to 3.2 gigawatts (GW) by the end of 2025.In a statement issued earlier last week, Waaree reaffirmed its compliance with U.S. trade regulations, including Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) rules, and disclosed that its order book now stands at 25 GW through 2027.Meanwhile, in early trade today, the stock rose 2% to Rs 3,199.10, but later slipped to Rs 3,092, down 1.5% as of 11:04 am.According to Trendlyne, the stock has an average target price of Rs 2,602, suggesting a potential downside of around 16%. Four analysts currently hold a 'Sell' rating on the stock.Despite the bearish outlook, Waaree Energies shows bullish technical momentum. The stock is trading above all key moving averages (5-day to 150-day SMAs), and the Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 65.1—indicating strong momentum but not yet in overbought territory.Waaree shares have gained 11% in the past two weeks and 30% over the last three months. The company's current market capitalisation stands at Rs 89,056 crore.

This new model, he wrote, would prioritize trade over aid and investment over assistance, adding it would put Washington in a stronger place to counter Beijing. The Trump administration has frozen and then cut back billions of dollars of foreign aid since taking office, saying it wants to ensure US taxpayer money goes only to programs that are aligned with Trump's "America First" policies. The cutbacks have effectively shut down USAID, leading to the firing of thousands of its employees and contractors. That jeopardized the delivery of life-saving food and medical aid and has thrown global humanitarian relief operations into chaos. According to research published in The Lancet medical journal, deep funding cuts to USAID and its dismantling could result in more than 14 million additional deaths by 2030. Human rights experts and advocates have warned against the cuts. USAID funding has had a crucial role in improving global health, primarily directed toward low- and middle-income countries, particularly African nations, according to the study. Reuters reported on Tuesday that the administration canceled a major contract to supply emergency kits for rape survivors in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo as violence surged there this year, leaving thousands without access to life-saving medication, the United Nations and aid groups said. INVESTMENT AND TRADE DEALS USAID was established in 1961 by Democratic President John F. Kennedy at the height of the Cold War with the aim of better coordinating foreign assistance, already a key platform of US foreign policy in countering Soviet influence. Washington has been the world's largest humanitarian aid donor, amounting to at least 38% of all contributions recorded by the United Nations. It disbursed $61 billion in foreign assistance last year, just over half of that via USAID, according to government data. Among the programs affected by the cuts is the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the world's leading HIV/AIDS initiative. Sub-Saharan Africa remains the epicenter of the AIDS pandemic. Trump's cuts have restricted the availability of drugs that millions of Africans have taken to prevent infection - particularly vulnerable communities such as gay men and sex workers - as aid groups and public health systems in Africa strove to roll back the disease. Trump has said the US pays disproportionately for foreign aid and he wants other countries to shoulder more of the burden. A senior State Department official briefing reporters on the condition of anonymity described the USAID model as "failed engagement" that did not reduce the dependency of foreign countries on the United States, and he said other nations will need to step up. "We want to see more investment from our partners, co-investment," the official said. "We want to see trade deals, compacts, agreements to work together on stuff." The shuttering of USAID drew a rare rebuke from former presidents George Bush and Barack Obama who joined a closed video conference event with the USAID community, the Associated Press reported on Monday. Citco to tie up with online platform to boost hotel bookings
Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Industrial Tourism and Development Corporation (Citco) will tie up with a private online platform to increase the occupancy of three hotels — Mountview, Shivalikview, and Parkview. This will also help Citco generate more revenue. The decision was taken in the Citco board meeting held here Tuesday. A UT official said, "Citco will soon sign an MoU with the private entity, and thereafter, the hotels will be listed on the site. It will help the hotels become more competitive in the open market." The board also approved the renovation of Hotel Parkview – both the rooms and the parking space at a cost of Rs 98 lakh. The renovation will be taken up in phases. The board also decided to supply bulk diesel to the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking for its buses. Apart from IOCL and BPCL, which provide bulk diesel to CTU at its depots, CTU was also procuring fuel from private petrol pumps. Air India is fighting two battles in the wake of the AI-171 crash: one with grief, and another with fraud. As it tries to help families of the 260 people who lost their lives lost in the June 12 tragedy, Air India reported a series of fake handles cropping up on X (formerly Twitter), masquerading as official support accounts offering "help" to the families of victims. "We have flagged multiple handles that pretended to offer assistance. We don't want anyone to fall prey to fraudsters at such a vulnerable time," said a source familiar with the matter. On Day 1 alone, the helplines received more than 10,000 calls, many from inconsolable family members. "The volume was overwhelming, but it wasn't just that. The emotional trauma of listening to the raw grief of callers broke down many of our call centre staff. Some fainted, others needed counselling or medical help," the source said.
