Fifty and fabulous: Rami Chuene celebrates life with joy and gratitude
South African actress and cultural icon Rami Chuene has stepped into her milestone 50th year with a radiant spirit and a heartfelt message to her fans.
In the post, she expressed profound gratitude for the grace and mercy she feels for her life, even amidst the trials she has faced.
"The Year of Jubilee - the year of liberation, restoration, rejoicing and a fresh start. It also represents a time of experiencing God's grace and mercy." she wrote.
She added: "We are reminded that, despite trials, God's love and mercy remain ever at work, guiding humanity towards a future of light and reconciliation.
With a mix of humour and openness, Chuene joked about the physical changes that come with age.
"Thirty years ago, fifty was so far, so old, so elderly and today here we are ... Don't get me started on those thin but visible lines (wrinkles). What about the nipples being in line with the belly button?
"Back then, motho had a figure, now we're just figuring it out. And what about the knees? Now I finally get what that song, hlogo, magetla, sefuba le letheka, mangwele le menwana meant!"
"My heart is full, my spirit is at ease and my soul is content. For this 50th birthday, all the ones before and the ones still come by God's grace, I am truly grateful. What a ride, what a life! Hello Fifty❤️," she wrote, showing appreciation for all the experiences that have shaped her thus far.
Earlier this year, Chuene invited women who are turning 50 to share their forgotten dreams.
She said that she has "angels" who are ready to help those women make their dreams come true. This will be done through her foundation.
"If you have a wish, drop us a mail ... Let's come together. Let's celebrate."

Captain to captain: Siya Kolisi gives Jesse Kriel seal of approval
Siya Kolisi has proverbially handed the Springbok captain reigns over to his colleague Jesse Kriel in a sweet social media post. The 34-year-old was ruled out of the Bok's upcoming match against Italy due to another physical niggle. Jesse stepped up into the leader role in a game against the Barbarians in Cape Town last weekend. In a sweet Instagram snap, Siya Kolisi showed love to Jesse Kriel, who would take up position as Springbok captain this weekend. The rugby squad will play Italy at Loftus in their first test match of the year. In the post, Siya posted a clip of an embrace with Jesse following the 2023 Rugby World Cup win. Another image shows the duo bonding over a traditional Xhosa meal spent with elders. 'Sikhokhele' [Lead us], Siya captioned the post. In the comments, Jesse Kriel, who is fluent in Xhosa, responded: 'I love you, bra.' Siya Kolisi's show of affection to Jesse Kriel mirrors that of his father Fezakele, who did the same during the Eastern Cape leg of the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour in 2023. During the stop, Kriel and fellow Springbok Deon Fourie visited the Zwide township, the home of Siya. Siya's father, the spitting image of his rugby player son, was there to greet them. The elderly man greeted Jesse and Deon with hugs and kisses and even jokingly placed the trophy on his head. Siya is also known for his playful and affectionate personality towards his colleagues.
