UAE, Pakistan and Afghanistan set for T20I tri-series showdown
The tournament will take place ahead of the Asia Cup in September, as the sub-continent teams prepare for next year's T20 World Cup.
The opening fixture will see Pakistan square up against last year's T20 World Cup semi-finalists, Afghanistan. All three teams will face each other twice, with the top two sides then advancing to the final scheduled for 7 September.

The two teams have played against each other at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium five times in T20Is, with Pakistan having got the better of Afghanistan thrice while the latter have emerged victorious on two other occasions.
Pakistan are currently in the midst of a three-match T20I series against West Indies, having lost 2-1 against Bangladesh in their previous assignment.
Meanwhile Afghanistan last featured in the shortest format back in December, when they bested Zimbabwe 2-1 in a three-match series.
UAE also arrive into the tournament on the back of a memorable T20I series win against Bangladesh in May.

Dubai will host 11 games, including the final, while Abu Dhabi will host eight matches. India will play their Group A games against UAE and the high-stakes clash against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sept. 10 and 14 respectively, while their clash against Oman is slated to happen at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Sept. 19. It's also the first time Asia Cup, to be held in the T20I format keeping in mind the preparation of teams for the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup, will have eight teams. Top two teams from each group will proceed to the Super Fours stage, with the top two facing each other in the title clash to decide the winner of the 17th edition of the Asia Cup, which kicks off with Afghanistan facing Hong Kong China. While India are the designated host of the Asia Cup, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will stage the tournament in the UAE due to the mutual agreement between them and Pakistan to play at neutral venues in 2027 owing to the geopolitical and diplomatic tensions between the two nations. India are the defending champions of the Asia Cup, having beaten Sri Lanka in the 2023 final held in the 50-over format in Colombo. Last time, when India and Pakistan faced each other in the UAE for the ICC Champions Trophy, many queued for at least an hour before realising that all tickets for the clash were gone. If you're among those cricket fanatics attempting to get their hands on a pass this time, you should keep an eye out for potential scammers. Some websites offering fake tickets have already gone live. Elaborate scam A simple Google search by Khaleej Times with the words 'Asia Cup tickets India Pakistan' revealed a flurry of websites offering passes to the game. Some were even 'sponsored' websites being displayed at ideal locations on the Google search page. Their ideal location on the search page makes it much easier for an unsuspecting fan to click on the website and fall victim to a scam. One website is offering a single 'VIP' pass for over Dh11,000. Other reselling websites are also offering the passes inflated rates. 'General Admission' passes begin at over Dh1,500 on these websites. Take a look at some of these websites offering them, below: Official tickets, however, are not yet being sold. So far, there has been no announcement on when tickets will be released, although fans expect the passes to go on sale soon. Netherlands set to tour Bangladesh for three T20Is
Bangladesh are set to host the Netherlands for the first time in a bilateral series, with the two sides scheduled to play a three-match T20I series.
