Police studying CCTV footage of Dr M's grandchild's home robbery
Acting Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan said they were investigating the case when contacted by Bernama.
"We are looking into it and as of yesterday, we have yet to be able to identify (the suspect).
"We are also studying CCTV footage of the victim's residence," he said briefly.
He had confirmed yesterday to the media that a residence belonging to the former prime minister's grandchild had been broken into and jewellery worth RM1.8 million had been stolen.
The break-in was discovered by a domestic helper at 3pm after they discovered the padlock on the back gate had been cut and thieves had gotten into the residence.

DCP Mohamed Usuf previously stated that the losses involved the victim's jewellery and personal belongings. "The house is owned by Mirzan Mahathir, but his daughter lives there. When the incident occurred, there was no one at home except for a domestic helper and other staff. There were signs that the back gate of the house was cut," he said. It was reported that the home belonging to Dr Mahathir's granddaughter in Bukit Ledang was broken into. The victim's domestic helper contacted her after noticing on Wednesday (July 23) that the rear gate had been cut open and her bedroom ransacked.

Bank officer loses RM241,700 in online vehicle scam
KUALA TERENGGANU: A bank officer lost his entire savings, including EPF funds, amounting to RM241,700 in an elaborate online vehicle purchase scam. The victim, a 52-year-old man, fell prey to a fraudulent advertisement for a used four-wheel-drive vehicle on Facebook. Kuala Terengganu police chief ACP Azli Mohd Noor stated that the incident began on July 4 when the victim responded to the advertisement. He communicated with the supposed seller via WhatsApp and was asked to provide a copy of his identity card along with an advance payment. 'Between July 9 and 21, the victim made 40 transactions to eight different accounts, totalling RM241,700,' Azli said. The scam escalated when the suspect demanded an additional RM31,000 for alleged fingerprinting costs at the Royal Malaysian Customs Department. The victim realised he had been deceived and lodged a police report yesterday morning. The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating. - Bernama

Police seize 936 fighting cocks, arrest trio in Sabah raid
PAPAR: Police seized 936 fighting cocks of Philippine breed and arrested three men, including two foreigners, during a raid in Kampung Kambizaan, Sabah. The operation, conducted on Friday, was a joint effort between Bukit Aman's Internal Security and Public Order Department and the Kota Kinabalu Veterinary Services Department. Datuk Seri Azmi Abu Kassim, director of Bukit Aman's Internal Security and Public Order Department, confirmed the arrests and seizures.
