4 people shot at a class reunion in Chattanooga, no arrests announced
A spokesperson for the Chattanooga Police Department confirmed that all four people were taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police did not provide information regarding a suspect or whether any arrests have been made.
The shooting occurred at the Tyner Recreation Complex, where it appears a multi-class reunion was being held for alumni of Tyner High School. The school is now named Tyner Middle High Academy and was reopened earlier this year after the former campus was torn down to make way for a new facility.
A Facebook post from the Tyner Alumni Association earlier this month boasted that 38 different graduating classes were participating in this year's alumni weekend. An email to the alumni association requesting comment from NBC News was not immediately returned Sunday.
Jeoff Herman, who witnessed the shooting, told NBC News affiliate WRCB that the scene was "real bad."
"Everybody was just having a good time," Herman said. "Then all the sudden shots just started going everywhere. Little kids and babies and everything were on the ground."

Evan Thomson, 26, died in the grounds of the hotel on the party island last week. A Scots tourist has died after falling from height at a hotel in Ibiza. Evan Thomson, from Aberdeen, was staying at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel when the tragedy unfolded on Monday, July 7. Paramedics were called to the scene but he was pronounced dead in the grounds of the hotel. He is understood to have been celebrating his 26th birthday with pals on the party island. His family have since been told he did not suffer in his final moments. His devastated mum Lel Kellighan shared the tragic news in a Facebook post on Sunday night. She wrote: 'I'm absolutely heartbroken to write and tell you all, earlier this week my son Evan was in a tragic accident whilst on holiday with his friends in Ibiza and sadly passed away. "We are all absolutely broken. Evan is survived by his mother Lel, dad Graham, sister Teila, girlfriend Remi Duncan, and many close friends including James Shand. Spanish authorities are understood to be investigating the accident. A spokeswoman for Ibiza Rocks Hotel said: 'This is a truly tragic and extremely sad situation. 'Our senior management team onsite did everything possible to help the police with their investigation into events leading up to Evan's death, and to provide constant support from our customer services manager to Evan's friends. 'That has included them having 24-hour access to our senior manager for any help or questions and giving them permission to pass on her mobile number to Evan's family should they wish to call us direct. Evan's family are said to be in touch with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) who are in contact with the Civil Guard. An FCDO spokesperson said: 'We are supporting the family of a British national who has died in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.'

Man wrongly accused of felling Sycamore Gap tree 'wears Rod Stewart wig' to hide
A man who was arrested over the felling of the iconic Sycamore Gap tree says he's taken unusual measures to avoid public abuse. Walter Renwick, a lumberjack, was arrested the day after the popular tree was felled in September 2023. The 70ft tree – which featured in 1991 Kevin Costner movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves – sat in a gap in Hadrian's Wall and was one of the most beloved trees in the UK. But it was chopped down in the middle of the night. Two friends, called 'moronic' by a judge, have been found guilty of criminal damage over the felling. Mr Renwick, 69, was released without charge by December 2023. He spoke out at the time, saying he was not 'stupid' enough to cut down the tree – but it public outcry against the tree felling means Mr Renwick is still associated with the Sycamore Gap. Speaking to the BBC yesterday, he described his home in Northumberland being searched as 'heartbreaking' and said he would be pointed out in the street. Mr Renwick of the police searches: 'There were police everywhere, drones flying around the valley, divers in the lake, they were 100% certain I'd done it. 'Every time I went shopping in Haltwhistle or Hexham, people were nudging each other and saying 'that's him that cut the tree down', stuff like that. 'I know it was daft but I put a Rod Stewart wig on so people didn't spot me.' Months before the Sycamore Gap tree was felled, Mr Renwick had been evicted from Plankey Mill Farm near Bardon Mill, just a few miles from Hadrian's Wall. The tenancy held by his grandfather and father had not passed to him – and this led to online sleuths suggesting the eviction was his motivation for chopping down the tree. 'I'd just lost everything I had, my cows, my sheep, my parents' stuff. I'd lost my home and then this,' Mr Renwick said. Daniel Graham, 39, and Adam Carruthers, 32, both from Cumbria, were both found guilty by an unanimous jury of criminal damage at Newcastle crown court in May.
