Ricky Martin ripped off mic, stormed off set after Billy Bush nearly outed him mid-interview
Bush — who now regrets the intrusive question — revealed on 'Literally! With Rob Lowe' Thursday that he told the Latin music superstar at the time that eight people he spoke to in the lobby bar the night prior wanted to know 'if you're gay.'
'He stiffens up in the chair and he goes, 'What?' And I go, 'Oh boy,'' the reporter, who was working for 'Access Hollywood' at the time, recalled.
'And he goes, 'You m**********,' rips off his microphone.'
Bush, now 53, claimed Martin, also now 53, added, 'You want your headline … You piece of garbage.'
The 'Livin' La Vida Loca' singer allegedly then walked off the set, leaving the entertainment reporter to say to himself, 'Oh s***,' while his producer also freaked out and said, 'This is terrible.'
Bush, who had flown to Miami for the interview, claimed he got a call from his bosses in Los Angeles shortly after, and they reamed him for his line of questioning.
'I'm not in the business of hurting people. I am in the business of figuring out who I am and where I'm going. And you need to be able to make mistakes in life,' the 'Extra' host told podcaster Rob Lowe, further reflecting on the incident.
Bush said he immediately walked back into the interview location to apologize to Martin, and said, 'Ricky, I am so sorry for asking that question. I don't know what I was thinking. It was a cowboy question. It was inappropriate. I'm so sorry, and I promise you this will never see the light of day.'
The 'Nobody Wants to Be Lonely' singer then transparently told him, 'I've been struggling with this my whole life. There will be a time, there will be a place. It will not be here on this program while I'm promoting this album.'
He continued, 'It is deeply personal to me. I appreciate you coming back in here. I forgive you.'
Martin eventually came out as gay in 2010, approximately seven years after his interview with Bush.
He announced on his website at the time that he was a 'fortunate homosexual man.'
The 'She Bangs' singer added, 'These years in silence and reflection made me stronger and reminded me that acceptance has to come from within and that this kind of truth gives me the power to conquer emotions I didn't even know existed.'
The revelation came after years of speculation about Martin's sexuality from fans and journalists, like Bush, who pried into the details about his personal life.
The now-late Barbara Walters infamously asked the 'She's All I Ever Had' singer about the 'rumors' in a sit-down for '20/20' in 2000, which the renowned news anchor later regretted.
Martin has said that interview left him feeling 'violated' and with 'a little PTSD' because he wasn't ready to come out.

Cameron Diaz cast in Netflix comedy Bad Day
Cameron Diaz is to star in the Netflix movie Bad Day. The 52-year-old actress has signed up to feature in the streaming giant's project from director Jake Szymanski – who helmed the acclaimed comedy series Jury Duty. The movie centres on a single mother who is fighting to keep one small promise to her daughter on the worst day of her life. The picture has been described as a comedic version of Joel Schumacher's 1993 film Falling Down, in which Michael Douglas plays a man who reaches breaking point as he attempts to get to his daughter's birthday party. The script has been penned by Laura Solon and the movie is being produced by Beau Bauman for Good One Productions. Bad Day will shoot in New York and New Jersey later this year. Cameron returned to the big screen after an 11-year absence in the Netflix picture Back in Action earlier this year and felt it was the perfect project to come back with, as she was thrilled to work with co-star Jamie Foxx. She said: "I thought that if I was going to come back and do a movie, the only person I'd come back and do it with would be this guy. "Seriously. I had other opportunities along the way and I was always saying: 'No. I'm not doing it, I've told you ... What? Jamie asked? Jamie? Oh, I can do a movie with Jamie!'" Diaz stepped away from acting to concentrate on her family and personal life and refused to confirm that she was returning to Hollywood "for good". The There's Something About Mary star said: "I don't know how I view it. It's hard to say. If I say it then it becomes this thing. "I reserve the right to say no to doing a movie ever again, and I reserve the right to say yes if I decide to. I'm not defining anything. I'm just open to whatever makes sense for me and my family at any given moment." Cameron made her movie debut opposite Jim Carrey in the 1994 comedy The Mask and has suggested that she is open to reprising the role of Tina Carlyle in a sequel. She told Access Hollywood: "If Jim's on board, I mean, I've been riding those coattails from day one." Carrey also stated that he would be willing to make a follow-up to The Mask if provided with the right story. The 63-year-old star said: "Oh gosh, you know, it has to be the right idea. "If somebody had the right idea, I guess… It's not really about the money. I joke about the money… But I never know. You can't be definite about these things. "I said I'd like to retire, but I think I was talking more about power-resting. Because as soon as a good idea comes your way, or a group of people that you really enjoyed working with and stuff, it just — things tend to change."

Rihanna reveals her sons 'both love music'
Rihanna's sons "love music". The 37-year-old star has Riot, 23 months, and RZA, three, with rapper A$AP Rocky, and Rihanna admits that her sons have already developed a passion for music. The chart-topping singer told E! News: "Both of them love music. Like it's insane because I'm like, 'Is that me or is that you, Rocky?' They love instruments. They love music." Rihanna suggested that Rocky is the biggest musical influence on at least one of her sons, revealing that Riot has already developed a love of freestyling. The Work hitmaker - who is currently pregnant with her third child - shared: "That's definitely a Rocky thing, not me." Rihanna has relished the challenge of raising her sons, but she recently confessed that she's "always wanted" a baby girl. The singer has remained tight-lipped about the sex of her unborn child, although she admitted that she'd love to have a little girl one day. Asked about the sex of her unborn baby, Rihanna told Extra: "You have to wait and see. Oh, my gosh, are you guys going to be so hurt if it's a boy?' Extra's Terri Seymour then replied: "I think we're secretly hoping you have a girl … because you've got your two sweet, sweet boys." Rihanna subsequently admitted that she'd love to have a baby girl. She explained: "I've always wanted a girl. God knows best, right? And I love my boys." Rihanna also confirmed that her unborn baby's name will begin with the letter R, describing it as a family "tradition". She said: "I mean, of course. It's tradition at this point." Rihanna has enjoyed huge success with make-up and lingerie brands, having put her music career on the back-burner in recent years. However, the singer confessed in 2024 that motherhood has changed her entire approach to fashion and style. Speaking to Interview magazine, she explained: "It's more like I spend my time getting the kids dressed to death, and then I'm like, 'What's the most comfortable outfit to wear around them? What's not going to feel uncomfortable on their face or on their body or make me feel like I can't hold them properly?' Moms are lazy dressers in real life."

Billie Lourd predicts her kids will love Smurfs movie
Billie Lourd's kids will "freak out" about her Smurfs role. The 32-year-old actress stars in the new animated movie alongside the likes of Rihanna, James Corden, Sandra Oh, Jimmy Kimmel, Octavia Spencer, Alex Winter, and Hannah Waddingham, and Billie is convinced that her kids will love the film. Billie - who has son Kingston, four, and daughter Jackson, two - told People: "I just love to do anything that they'll care about." The actress - who previously appeared as Lieutenant Connix in the Star Wars sequel trilogy - is "so excited" for her kids to watch the new movie. She said: "This might be my career peak because it's something that they're gonna freak out about, and I'm just so excited for them to watch it and love me more." Meanwhile, Rihanna - Billie's Smurfs co-star - is also delighted that her kids can now finally enjoy the movie. The chart-topping singer - who has RZA, three, and Riot, 23 months, with A$AP Rocky - recently told Extra: "We get to watch the movie together for the first time. I get to watch it in its full completion. So, that should be interesting. "Everybody gets to watch it on the 18th. So, we're really going for it now. It's finally being birthed." Rihanna explained that the film's premiere felt "so far away" when the project began. She said: "We've been working on it for so long. So, like, a few years now, actually. And it's happening … You know, you start working on something and 2025 feels so far away and then we're here." Rihanna's sons weren't aware of her involvement with the movie. However, the singer - who has largely put her music career on hold in recent years, in order to focus on other ventures - was looking forward to seeing the reaction of her boys. Asked if they knew that she was playing Smurfette in the film, Rihanna replied: "The boys know nothing, they're being introduced to Smurf Village right now, the blue carpet, and next is going to be me watching their reaction when they realise my voice is coming out of the screen. I can't wait for that one."
