Was it challenging?
Of course. But I went in knowing that comparison is pointless. Everyone brings something unique to the table. My focus was simply to show up as myself. Telangana feels like home. Talking about my people and my culture comes naturally. Through this journey, I've learned that no label, caste, gender, or race matters. In the end, we're all human. Instead of competing, we should uplift one another. That's what pageantry truly represents.
How are you preparing for the nationals?
Preparation has been intense; it's been a year of consistent hard work. Many don't realise how much dedication goes into this. I get genuinely excited whenever someone mentions nationals. I'm always the first to volunteer for mock interviews or rehearsals. That's how I've always been, even in school. People think being first means you're fearless, but that's not true. I still feel fear; I've just made friends with it. Fear has pushed me beyond my limits, and I'm grateful for that.
What cause would you champion if you became Miss Universe?
Mental health, without a doubt. I'm also part of a satellite initiative that aims to launch a satellite built by rural girls in India next year. I believe in being the voice for the voiceless, especially women and children stuck in abusive situations. Pageantry is often seen as being about beauty, but true beauty lies in how hard you work for your dreams and how you uplift others.

Yukta Mookhey slams people trolling Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and commenting on her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan: 'It's violation of boundaries, mera naman hai uss stree ko'
Former Miss World Yukta Mookhey who won the pageant in 1999 has been away from the limelight for quite a while. In a recent interview, she has spoken about other actresses who have also been pageant winners - be it Sushmita Sen or Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She also spoke about Juhi Chawla and how gracious she has been. While Sushmita had won the Miss Universe title in 1994, Aishwarya was crowned Miss World in the same year. As Yukta was shown a picture with both of them and Diana Haydon, she spoke fondly of the three ladies. She recalled how Sushmita was extremely encouraging of her, while Aishwarya was so well spoken, poised and dignified and this is what is so inspiring about these women, apart from just their outer beauty. Speaking about Diana, she said during this chat with Filmy Media, "Diana was like an elder sister. She prepped me thoroughly about to say, what not to say, how to stay mindful. Her advice made me feel supported and prepared.' She was then asked if it's fair for people to now comment on Aishwarya's weight gain or just how she's looking. Chavit Singson to launch political memoir 'Chavit: Legend of the Philippines'
Chavit Singson is launching his political memoir titled "Chavit: Legend of the Philippines," which tells the story of the Ilocano politician who happens to be "the only private individual in the world who led to the impeachment of a Philippine president in 2001," the press statement read. Apart from telling Singson's story, "Chavit: Legend of the Philippines" also talks about the story of the Philippines over the last 70 years, making it a good read for history buffs, political connoisseurs and even business people. Not to be mistaken for a biography, "Chavit: Legend of the Philippines" comes in a Q&A format with nearly 700 questions and answers. It is written by Polish author Maciej Mikurda, who devoted 1.5 years to writing the book. Considered one of the most influential people in the Philippines, Singson was first elected governor in the 1971 elections and served in the same position for 29 years. He has worked with every Philippine president from President Ferdinand Marcos St., who took office in 1965 to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., elected in 2022. A staunch businessman, Singson's company is active in banking, mining, real estate, IT and manufacturing. He is a popular figure in the entertainment industry, sponsoring the Philippine edition of the Miss Universe beauty pageant in 2016, and producing movies. He plans to continue co-producing projects with GMA Films. Singson is also a devoted father to 24 children. "Chavit: Legend of the Philippines" launches tonight at the Peninsula Manila.
