Developed under the guidance of her teacher, Lalith Mohan Sahu, the solar-powered machine performs four key agricultural tasks — threshing and grain separation, grass cutting, winnowing, and bag stitching — while the byproduct can also be used as fodder.
Shubhashree's model, which significantly cuts down on electricity use and cost, gained recognition at the district level before being selected for the Japan Sakura Project. According to school principal Gopikrishna, Shubhashree first developed the prototype while in Class 9. She is currently in Class 12 (CBSE).
District Educational Officer S Mondaiah, District Science Officer Jaipal Reddy and Paramita Group of Schools chairman E Prasad Rao, on Saturday, congratulated her on the achievement.

CBSE Two Board Exams For Class 10: Eligibility Criteria, Key Rules Explained
In a major academic shift, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduce a two-board-exam system for Class 10 students starting academic year 2026. This move aligns with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and aims to ease academic pressure while enhancing the assessment process. General Conditions and Scheme Appearing in the first board examination will be mandatory for all students. Students who pass and are eligible may appear in the second exam to improve performance in up to three subjects from Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and languages. Students who skip three or more subjects in the first exam will be placed under the "Essential Repeat" category and can only reappear in the main exams the following February. Students placed in the Compartment category after the first exam may appear for the second exam under the Compartment category. No additional subjects will be allowed after passing Class 10; standalone subject options will also not be available. Special Provisions Sportspersons can appear in the second exam if their sports event coincides with the first exam. Students of winter-bound schools may choose to take either the first or second exam. Facilities available to Children With Special Needs (CWSN) will also apply in the second exam. Internal Assessment Internal assessment will be conducted once, prior to the main exam. Examination Schedule First (main) examination: From mid-February, as per the current schedule. Second examination: In the month of May. Eligibility Criteria For the first examination: Fresh Class 10 students Second-chance compartment candidates Essential repeat students Improvement exam candidates For the second examination: Students opting for improvement in up to three main subjects First or third chance compartment candidates Compartment plus improvement Students passed by subject replacement, opting for improvement Syllabus and Exam Scheme Both board exams will be based on the complete annual syllabus. The scheme of studies and examinations will remain unchanged. LOC (List of Candidates) Rules Filling the LOC and appearing in the first exam is compulsory. A separate LOC will be required for the second exam, but no new candidates can be added at that stage. Subject change between the first and second exams is not allowed unless explicitly permitted. Result and Certificates First exam results: Expected in April. Second exam results: Expected in June. The performance in the first exam will be accessible on DigiLocker and can be used for Class 11 admissions if a student opts not to take the second exam. Final passing documents will be issued after the second exam results. Merit certificates will be awarded only after the second examination. This dual-exam approach is expected to provide students with flexibility and opportunities for academic improvement.

From paper errors and response sheet glitches to stream-change hurdles and unfair normalisation methods, students and experts alike are raising red top scorers aren't celebrating without caveats. As lakhs of aspirants navigate India's largest undergraduate entrance test, complaints about skewed scoring patterns and systemic inefficiencies are piling the Common University Entrance Test really living up to its promise of a level playing field?A BIAS AGAINST SCIENCE STUDENTS Science students feel squeezed by the CUET UG 2025 pattern -- especially those aiming to switch into humanities courses such as Economics (Hons) or BMS. Kerala KEAM 2025 results: John Shinoj tops engineering entrance, Anakha Anil bags first rank in pharmacy
John Shinoj of Muvattupuzha in Ernakulam district topped the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance test 2025 in the engineering stream and Anakha Anil of Pathiyoor in Alappuzha has bagged the first rank in the pharmacy stream. The results were declared by Higher Education Minister R. Bindu here on Tuesday (July 1, 2025). Hari Kishan Baiju of Cherai in Ernakulam is the second rank holder and B.N. Akshay Biju of Kakkur in Kozhikode is the third rank holder in the engineering stream. Hrishikesh R. Shenoy of Arpookkara in Kottayam got the second rank and Fathimathu Zahra of Kunnakkavu in Malappuram got the third rank in pharmacy respectively. B.R. Dhiya Roopya of Perumpuzha in Kollam (rank number 9) is the topper among women in the engineering stream while Hridin S. Biju of Nileshwaram in Kasaragod and K.S. Sabarinath of Manarcaud in Kottayam scored the highest among the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories, respectively. The Minister said that of the 86,549 applicants who had appeared for the engineering entrance test, 76,230 had qualified. Subsequently, a rank list of 67,505 applicants who had furnished the details of their marks was prepared. Of the 33,425 applicants who appeared for the BPharm entrance test, 27,841 figured on the rank list. The KEAM examination for engineering and pharmacy courses was held from April 23 to 29. Ms. Bindu said that the engineering rank list had been prepared applying the new normalisation process. This was implemented to ensure a level-playing field for engineering aspirants from the State syllabus, addressing their long-standing concern that they were at a disadvantage compared with their counterparts from the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education. The students from State syllabus schools had complained that they were losing roughly 15 to 20 marks in the normalisation process when KEAM scores where combined with higher secondary marks, especially in core subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. This time, the first rank holder in engineering is from a State syllabus higher secondary school. Of the first 10 rank holders, five each are from the State syllabus and the CBSE. Of the 47,175 applicants in the State syllabus, 43 figured in the first 100 ranks. Of the 18,284 in the CBSE stream, 55 figured in the first 100 ranks. The Minister said that the admission process for BTech courses would have to be completed by August 14 in line with the academic calendar prepared by the All-India Council for Technical Education.
