Mid-cap construction sector stock PNC Infratech over the week end ( on Saturday 7 June 2025) announced winning ₹ 240 crore order. In its intimation to the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd and the BSE or the Bombay Stock Exchange, PNC Infratech announced Receipt of 'Letter of Acceptance' from PWD-Rajasthan.
The scope of works for the PNC Infratech as per the received Letter of Acceptance' from PWD-Rajasthan is for construction of a flyover in Bharatpur . The PNC Infratech in its release said that "Company has received Letter of Acceptance dated 06.06.2025 from PWD-Rajasthan for the project namely "Construction of Flyover from Heeradas Chouraha to Kumher Gate Chouraha in Bharatpur City, Bharatpur" on 07.06.2025.
The domestic Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) order is to be completed by PNC Infratech in 24 months from the issue of order. The broad consideration of the order or contract as per PNC Infratech or the Awarded value id Rs. 239.94 Crore.
Mid-cap construction sector stock PNC Infratech share price that opened at ₹ 307.80. At the time of opening PNC Infratech share price was up close too 1% over the previous days closing price of ₹ 305.10. The PNC Infratech share price thereafter gained further the intraday highs of ₹ 319.80 which translated into intraday gains of close to 4% for the PNC Infratech share price.

Agency: PTI Last Updated: Itanagar, Jul 24 (PTI) Calling engineers the backbone of Arunachal Pradesh's development, Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik on Thursday underscored the critical role they play in transforming government policy into tangible infrastructure. He urged them to embrace innovation, ethical conduct, and technological upgrades to build a future-ready and sustainable state. Inaugurating a two-day capacity-building training programme for engineers of the Public Works Department (PWD) here, the governor emphasised that engineers must uphold the highest standards of integrity, quality, and accountability in every project they undertake. 'An engineer's work must reflect trust, and the design, quality, cost, and impact must stand as a symbol of reliability," he said, warning against any compromise on quality. Parnaik stressed the need to integrate modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and GIS mapping and smart monitoring systems at every stage of project execution. With the infrastructure sector undergoing rapid digital transformation, he noted that such tools are now essential, not optional, for improving efficiency, transparency, and accountability. 'AI can help in better resource allocation and design optimisation. GIS mapping supports spatial planning and real-time tracking, while smart monitoring tools ensure timely delivery, quality control, and financial oversight," he said. Highlighting the state government's recent adoption of the 'zero tolerance for corruption' resolution in the assembly, Parnaik called upon engineers to exercise financial prudence and handle public funds with utmost care. He emphasised that transparency must be treated as a professional obligation, not just an administrative requirement. The governor also raised serious concern over the practice of sub-letting project works, stating that while it may offer economic gain to a few, it seriously compromises project quality and erodes public trust. He urged the engineering community to reconsider and reform this practice by ensuring that contracts are handled by capable, qualified individuals committed to excellence. Commending the PWD and the Indian Building Congress for organising the training, the governor described the programme as an investment in the state's future. 'This initiative will enhance the technical strength of our engineering workforce and prepare them to meet evolving infrastructure challenges with competence and character," he added. PWD Principal Secretary Kaling Tayeng, Chairman of Indian Building Congress (Arunachal Chapter) Dr Toli Basar and Chief Engineer (Vigilance & Training) Rimmar Taso, also shared their views during the inaugural session. Sangli contractor found dead; kin say he was under financial stress due to unpaid govt bills & debts
Kolhapur: A 35-year-old govt contractor from Tandulwadi village in Sangli's Islampur taluka was found dead on his farm on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Harshal Patil, who worked on pipe-laying and tank-contruction projects of the Jal Jeevan Mission (a rural water supply scheme). Harshal's cousin Akshay told the police that the contractor was under immense financial strain because of bills of Rs 1.4 crore pending clearance with govt, and debt of Rs 65 lakh with banks and private lenders. Many contractors across the state are awaiting govt bill payments. On July 4, the contractors held a statewide strike demanding immediate clearance of dues. Since Jan 2025, contractors have also held at least five protests in different districts. Milind Bhosale, the state president of the contractors' association, said he has written at least 25 letters to govt to hold a meeting over Rs 90,000 crore dues. "Across the state, govt's Jal Jeevan Mission department alone has pending bills of Rs 12,000 crore. The public works department also has Rs 46,000 crore dues. They also registered a missing complaint at the Kurlap police station on Tuesday night. However, on Wednesday afternoon, Harshal's family members found him dead on the farm. Assistant inspector Vikram Patil said, "We have not found any suicide note. We are, however, getting the statements of the deceased man's relatives. We have registered the death as a suicide." Akshay said Harshal did not want his father, who is a farmer, to know about his financial troubles. "Harshal was of a quiet nature. He used to tell such things to our common friends," said another relative. Harshal is survived by his wife, parents, two younger brothers and a four-year-old daughter. His family was financially dependent on him. Jayant Patil, senior NCP (SP) politician and local MLA, said, "Fed up with the govt's false promises of employment, the children of ordinary farmers had turned to contracting. Govt has dashed the dreams of these youths who were striving to build their world through hard work. State govt is distributing contracts to win elections despite having no funds in the treasury. Today, contractors across the state are forced to beg and protest at the govt's doorstep to recover their pending dues. This is not the situation of just one department, but of all departments. Contractor don't just support their households; many workers' families also depend on them, but govt seems to have no regard for this. Just as we see farmer suicides, I fear a wave of contractor suicides may begin."

TNGCPL terminates contract awarded to BGR for North Chennai Super Critical Thermal Power Project, Stage III
Tamil Nadu Power Generation Corporation Ltd (TNGCPL) has terminated contract awarded to BGR Energy Systems Ltd. for the establishment of 1 x 800 mW North Chennai Super Critical Thermal Power Project, Stage III – Balance of Plant (BOP) package along with allied civil works engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth ₹2,600.02 crore, citing the non-fulfillment of key project obligations among others. In a stock exchange filing, BGR said it received the termination letter from TNGCPL on July 18. TNGCPL cited various reasons for termination of contract, including the contractor being unable to fulfil key project obligations, critical systems remaining incomplete, and the contractual requirements for insurance renewals and guarantee extensions were not met, according to BGR. The company said it is awaiting a positive outcome from the Arbitration application pending before the Madras High Court in this matter and said there is no major impact on its financials and operations. North Chennai Super Critical Thermal Power Project Stage-III (1x800 mW) is situated in Tiruvallur district. The Super Critical 800 mW project cost, including Interest During Construction (IDC), is ₹10,158 crore, according to the State Energy Department policy note for 2025-2026. The Project was commissioned and inaugurated by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in March 2024. The unit was synchronised using coal firing on 17.03.2024, and achieved full load by 27.06.2024. Further, a trial run was started on 20.03.2025 and is continuously operating. It has also reached its maximum capacity of 675 mW during the trial run on 28.03.2025. All steps are being taken to achieve the date of commercial operation as soon as possible, the policy note said. Once the plant reaches its installed capacity of 800 mW and operates continuously for 72 hours, it will be considered a power plant. It is designed to operate with 50% Imported and 50% Domestic Coal. Earlier, TNPGCL had terminated the EPC contract awarded to BGR for the 660-MW Ennore Thermal Power Station (ETPS) expansion project, due to slow progress and poor performance.
