Nintendo Switch 2 restocks — live updates and retailers to check now
Nintendo Switch 2 supply is still struggling to meet the high demand. The hybrid console has been available for a month, but Switch 2 restocks remain tricky to find. And when a retailer does replenish the console, any available units don't tend to stick around for very long.
Luckily, we are seeing regular restocks across major retailers with the likes of Walmart, Target and Best Buy offering gamers fresh opportunities to score a Switch 2 in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Amazon U.S.has finally entered the game. After being absent from pre-order and launch periods, Amazon launched its Nintendo Switch 2 listing pages last week.
Restocks have been significantly more common in the U.K., where getting hold of a Switch 2 has been comparatively easier. Not only have Switch 2 restocks been more frequent in the U.K., but stock has often been available for days at a time. For example, Argos currently has Nintendo Switch 2 in stock, and it's available for in-store collection or delivery to your home.
Nintendo Switch 2 launched on June 5 and costs $449 / £395 standalone and $499 / £429 bundled with Mario Kart World. Don't be tempted to overpay via a resale site, as we're bringing you the latest Nintendo Switch 2 restock news in this regularly updated live blog.
I've been tracking hard-to-buy gaming items for more than five years, and at this point, I know how to play (and win) the restock game. Now I'm using all of that experience to help you secure a Nintendo Switch 2 this week without having to pay an inflated scalper price.
After being absent from the Switch 2 pre-order phase, Amazon U.S. launched a Nintendo Switch 2 listing page and is now allowing shoppers to request an invite to purchase. Best Buy last restocked the Switch 2 online on June 11. The electronics retailer has been another regular source of Switch 2 stock, and also held an in-store restock this week on Tuesday, July 1. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Best Buy

My Nintendo Store is using an invite system to allocate its available Switch 2 stock. You will need to meet specific criteria, including having a Nintendo Switch Online account and then be selected and sent an invite to order the console. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Nintendo Store
Antonline's Switch 2 listings have a "coming soon" message. This could be a sign that the tech retailer is planning to restock the console in the near future, though that message has been there quite a while now, so it's a little puzzling. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Antonline
Newegg's Nintendo Switch 2 pages are live, but there's currently no stock. Newegg may restock the console soon, but nothing is confirmed yet, so this is another one to watch closely for now. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Newegg
Sam's Club has a listing page for the Nintendo Switch 2, which currently advises the console is "coming soon." This could be an indication that the retailer is planning to take Switch 2 orders in the near future, so be sure to watch this space.

Albertsons posts a strong Q1 as pharmacy and digital operations steam ahead
Dive Brief: Albertsons generated $24.9 billion in net sales and other revenue during the first quarter of fiscal 2025, up 2.5% compared with the same period last year, the supermarket chain reported sales moved ahead at a 2.8% clip, twice the rate it posted for the metric during Q1 of 2024, driven by double-digit growth in pharmacy and e-commerce raised its expectations for identical sales for the year, based in part on the assumption that its pharmacy and digital businesses will continue to grow, President and CFO Sharon McCollam said during an earnings call. Dive Insight: Albertsons has been directing resources toward its pharmacy and e-commerce operations, and those investments are paying off for the company, executives said during the earnings call. The grocer has seen "sequential improvement" in its core grocery operations and believes that continued strength in that area will help push identical sales up as the year moves ahead, McCollam said. The company now expects identical sales to rise between 2% and 2.75% during fiscal 2025, up from the range of 1.5% to 2.5% it previously forecast. Albertsons' pharmacy and health business grew 20% year over year during Q1, due in part to robust prescription sales and immunization growth, said CEO Susan Morris, who took over the top job in May. That, in turn, is helping to increase sales elsewhere in the store. People who make purchases at the pharmacy counter visit stores four times more often and buy significantly more groceries than other shoppers, Morris said, underscoring the long-term value for Albertsons of investing in that part of its business. Morris added that Albertsons has found that GLP-1 drugs intended to help people lose weight have turned into sales drivers beyond the pharmacy counter despite the fact that the grocer does not make much money on the drugs themselves. While shoppers who take those medications often decrease the size of their basket at the start, they typically start buying things like supplements and lean proteins, "categories that are actually quite profitable for us as a company," Morris said. During Q1, Albertsons saw 25% growth in digital sales, and e-commerce accounted for 9% of total grocery revenue, Morris said. In response to a question from an analyst, McCollam said Albertsons is "getting very close" to breaking even on its e-commerce operations - a goal that Walmart has already achieved and Kroger is also pursuing. McCollam emphasized that Albertsons does not take its Albertsons Media Collective digital media operation into account when evaluating the profitability of its e-commerce business, which she said differentiates it from competitors. "From a financial point of view, of course, [e-commerce] creates data for the media collective, and it is a major provider of information for the media collective. But from a P&L point of view, it's pure. What is driving that is volume, first and foremost," McCollam said. Morris also said during the call that Albertsons sees a strong growth path for its own brand business, noting that while private label penetration was nearly 26% during Q1, the company believes that figure should be at least 30%. Costco faces employee backlash over new member benefit
There's a reason people are willing to spend money on a Costco membership when they can shop at just about any other store without having to pay to walk in the door. Costco is known not just for its ultra-low prices, but also for its outstanding customer service. And that's something consumers are willing to pay for. Related: Costco doesn't want members (and non-members) to know this Most retailers, for example, give you somewhere in the ballpark of a 30-day window to bring items back for a refund. At Costco, with few exceptions, you can return any item at any time without a hassle - even products you purchased a year ago. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Costco also keeps close tabs on its inventory to make sure the items it stocks are high in quality. You won't find nearly the same selection of products at Costco as you will at your local Target or Walmart. In exchange, though, as a member, you can feel more confident in your purchases, given Costco's very high standards. Costco offers two membership tiers - Gold Star and Executive. A Gold Star membership is Costco's basic offering and costs $65 per year, while the Executive membership costs $130. But there's a reason so many Costco shoppers choose to upgrade to the Executive membership tier, despite it costing double. Related: Costco's newest taste treat has fans delighted The more expensive membership gives you 2% back on your Costco purchases, which means if you shop at the store often enough (and spend enough), your membership could actually pay for itself. Plus, Costco recently sweetened the deal for Executive members by re-introducing early store hours. Years back, Costco would open its doors 30 minutes early for Executive members. The company did away with that benefit for a pretty lengthy period of time before bringing early shopping hours back in late June. Now, Executive members have a prime opportunity to shop ahead of the crowds. While Executive members may be thrilled with Costco's latest benefit, store employees feel very differently. In fact, a number of Costco employees took to Reddit to complain about the change. "I can imagine it's going to be fun every morning in merchandising. I'm assuming there will be no adjustments to schedules or depot times. Just get it done in less time," one user wrote. Related: Costco's latest price change shocks members "Corporate announcing this with 3 weeks notice, while in the middle of a hiring freeze, AND severely cutting hours? Costco is not the same company it once was," said another. Other Costco employees expressed concern that non-Executive members would try to get around the rules and sneak in early, causing even more stress and chaos. This isn't the only backlash Costco has received from workers lately. The warehouse club giant was recently accused of withholding pay from union drivers in Washington State. If that issue doesn't get resolved, Costco could have a huge revolt on its hands, which could, in turn, have a major impact on shoppers. Similarly, if too many store employees find themselves stressed and miserable over the change to Executive member hours, Costco could end up with a massive worker exodus on its hands.
