Judas Priest Documentary Co-Directed by Tom Morello in the Works
The Rage Against the Machine guitarist will make his directorial debut with The Ballad of Judas Priest, which will arrive later this year via Sony Music Vision, Variety reports. Sam Dunn will serve as the other co-director on the film, which — like the band — borrows its name from Bob Dylan's 'The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest.'

'We have lived and breathed metal for over five decades, and finally in this documentary we are summoning our congregation to officially witness our lives uncensored, in a never-before-seen way…the cassock comes off, revealing Priest in all its metal glory,' the band said in a joint statement.
The Ballad of Judas Priest will trace the heavy metal band's half-century legacy, from their roots in Birmingham, England, to their climb to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With the arrival of 2024's Invincible Shield, Judas Priest became the first metal act to release albums 50 years apart, as their debut LP, Rocka Rolla, was unleashed in 1974. The band has put out 19 studio albums in that span.
'While some may know Judas Priest for their huge hits that have shaped the heavy metal genre, there is so much more to their story,' Morello and Dunn added. 'Tracing their incredible 50-year journey, this film will capture how Judas Priest both defined the sound and look of metal, but also made it a more inclusive place along the way. We are grateful to the band for allowing us such intimate, unfiltered access to their lives and look forward to bringing this film to the metal masses around the world.'

Madonna Re-Releases ‘Dress You Up' for Single's 40th Anniversary
Madonna has shared a three-track digital re-release of her 1985 single 'Dress You Up.' Released for the dance-pop song's 40th anniversary, the digital edition features a remixed version, the 12″ formal mix of the track, and an instrumental mix. 'Dress You Up' was the final single off Madonna's LP, Like a Virgin. The song, produced by Nile Rodgers, was initially released on July 31, 1985. Listen here. 'With the tragic news this week of the passing of the doll designers and Madonna superfans Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi, we dedicate this release to them,' the press released noted. 'Thank you for dressing up so many of your creations in Madonna iconic looks over the years.' Last week, Madonna released her long-shelved Ray of Light remix album, Veronica Electronica, nearly 27 years after the companion LP was first sidelined. Veronica Electronica features seven Ray of Light-era remixes from late Nineties powerhouse producers like Peter Rauhofer, William Orbit, Sasha, BT, and Victor Calderone, plus the original demo of 'Gone, Gone, Gone,' an unreleased track co-produced by Rick Nowels from the Ray of Light sessions. Madonna's most recent studio album, Madame X, arrived in 2019; the now-six-year gap between albums is the longest of Madonna's career. The singer is currently working with filmmaker Shawn Levy to develop a limited series at Netflix. It's unclear what period of Madonna's career the television series will focus on, although she has previously hinted at her long-awaited biopic being turned into a TV series. Recently, actress Julia Garner confirmed she is still on track to portray Madonna the biopic. 'Dress You Up' Tracklisting: 1. Dress You Up Remix/Edit 2. Dress You Up The 12″ Formal Mix 3. Demi Lovato's Pop Sound Coming Back From the Dead on ‘Celebratory' New Dance Album
Fans of Demi Lovato's pop music can officially come out of mourning. According to a report from Rolling Stone published Monday (July 21), the singer is set to resurrect her mainstream influences on a dance-heavy new album, despite committing to a punk-rock pivot over the past few years. Though many details of the LP are still under wraps, the publication confirmed that Lovato has been hard at work on a 'celebratory dance-pop album' with executive producer Zhone, who says that the former Disney star is a 'master in the studio.' 'It's been so inspiring working with Demi and experiencing her journey of continued leveling up,' he told RS. More from Billboard Demi Lovato Is Ready to Heat Up Summer With Sizzling Preview of Dance Floor-Ready 'Fast' Single Shakira & The Weeknd to Headline 2025 Global Citizen Festival in Central Park The Who Kick Off Farewell Tour in Italy, Perform First Show Since Zak Starkey Sacking 'This album is about letting inhibitions go, and we had so much fun making this music!' Zhone added. 'It really comes across throughout.' Led by an EDM-tinged single titled 'Fast' — which Lovato has been teasing via video snippets on social media — the upcoming full-length is expected to mark a return to the form of the Camp Rock alum's past pop-focused Billboard Hot 100 hits (think: 2015's 'Cool for the Summer' or 2017's 'Sorry Not Sorry'). It'll follow 2022's distinctly punk-rock effort Holy Fvck, which reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200. Shortly before releasing Holy Fvck, Lovato commemorated the end of a pop-music era by posing solemnly in a photo with members of their team — including then-manager Scooter Braun — dressed all in black. 'A funeral for my pop music,' Lovato wrote at the time on Instagram. The star later doubled down on her pivot to rock music by releasing Revamped, an album of past Lovato pop hits reimagined in the edgier genre. With the new album approaching, however, Lovato recently shared a video on TikTok poking fun at their past departure from the mainstream, writing, 'my pop music coming back to life after we held a funeral for it.' One major change in Lovato's personal life that has informed her musical homecoming is the vocalist's marriage to producer Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes,' according to RS. The pair tied the knot this past May. 'Over the past few years, Demi has found love, joy, and newfound confidence, making the choice to approach life with much more lightness and fun,' one unnamed source reportedly told the publication. 'She took this sentiment into the studio, which can be felt in every track on this celebratory dance-pop album.' Though Lovato always had an edgier sound than many of their fellow Disney Channel-bred pop stars, the performer shined in the pop-music landscape before transitioning away to rock. From 2008's debut LP Don't Forget to 2021's Dancing With the Devil, all seven of Lovato's studio albums leading up to Holy Fvck charted in the top 5 of the Billboard 200. Lovato has also scored a number of Hot 100 hits over the course of her pop career, including top 10 entries 'Heart Attack' and 'Skyscraper.' Fox News' host Greg Gutfeld to appear on Jimmy Fallon next week
Fox News late night host Greg Gutfeld will be a guest on Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show" next week, marking the libertarian-leaning on-air persona's first appearance on a traditional network late-night talk show. His debut guest appearance is scheduled for the Thursday, August 7 episode, NBC spokesperson Eve Kenny confirmed. Gutfeld is the host of Fox News' late-night "Gutfeld!" which debuted in April 2021 and has found success, averaging 3.29 million viewers, according to Late Nighter. The comedian and political commentator has long criticized late-night hosts like Seth Meyers and Jimmy Kimmel. But he expressed a soft spot for Fallon during a Thursday, July 31 episode of the Fox News conservative cable hit "The Five." "I'm psyched about it because Fallon comes across as a great guy, nice guy," Gutfeld told his co-hosts. "Also me going on his show shows him that he's not worried about upsetting his peers." He then recalled President Donald Trump's guest appearance on the "Tonight Show" ahead of the 2016 election, in which Fallon was scrutinized for "humanizing Trump" after tousling his hair for a comedic bit. "But it didn't come from anybody but the people on the left who wanted to teach all entertainers a lesson that if you dare show that Trump is a human, then you're toast," he added. "And so it's kind of nice that he's taken this risk." Fallon is among Trump's late-night foes Though its unclear what Fallon and Gutfeld will discuss during the episode, the talk show crossover comes after Trump's public squabble with several late night hosts following CBS' cancellation of the "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." Trump celebrated the cancelation on Truth Social July 18 writing "I absolutely love that Colbert' got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings." Colbert addressed the post in his July 21 episode monologue saying: "How dare you, sir? Would an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism? Go (expletive) yourself." The president later made a jab at Kimmel, insinuating that his show would be the next to end before taking aim at Fallon. "The word is, and it's a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, (Jimmy) Fallon will be gone," Trump wrote on a July 22 Truth Social post. Fallon participated in the beef by zeroing in on Trump's former relationship with deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein following reports that Attorney General Pam Bondi had reportedly told the president that he was named multiple times in the government's files. "Well, guys, the big story continues to be President Trump's handling of the Epstein files, and now newly uncovered footage shows that Jeffrey Epstein attended Trump's second wedding in 1993," Fallon said. "You had the bride, the groom, the groomer." Contributing: Anna Kaufman, USA TODAY This article originally appeared on USA TODAY: Fox News' host Greg Gutfeld to appear on Jimmy Fallon next week
