Beckley Police Department welcomes new K9
According to a post on the Beckley Police Department's Facebook page, K9 Luna was added to the department's patrol division. K9 Luna is a 14-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer, and her handler is PFC Amick.
Anti-rabies clinics to be held in Raleigh County
The post stated that PFC Amick and K9 Luna, who is certified in ten different Narcotics and Tracking, finished 120 hours of training and were officially certified in the Mountain State.
The Beckley Police Department's Facebook post thanked the Beckley Rotary Club, who helped get the necessary funds to buy and train K9 Luna through a grant.

LOS ALAMOS COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Atomic City Transit (ACT) is announcing its new Saturday service pilot program. On Saturday's from August 2 – October 5, 2025, riders can request same-day service from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Rides can be reserved through the free ACT Ride app, or by calling 505-661-RIDE (7433). Air Quality Health Advisory issued for NYC, Long Island
NEW YORK (PIX11) — An Air Quality Health Advisory has been issued for the New York City Metro regions and Long Island from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday. Individuals with cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, including asthma, should limit strenuous physical activity outdoors. Children and the elderly are also urged to take precautions.
