'I tried Megababe's anti-chafe stick - it's a lifesaver for the heatwave'
While the hot weather is glorious, and I find myself finding any excuse to get outside in the sunshine - I've never done so many lunch break walks in my life - it also comes with some pretty irritating side effects.
Chafing is, and has always been the bane of my life, especially when I fancy wearing a pretty summer dress or cycling shorts. The red, irritated and hot skin on my thighs feels as if I've just set fire to my legs, and sometimes I even get rashes that can last all evening.
It got to a point where I'd have to wear shorts under a dress just to stop the rubbing - but would then have to suffer with having two layers on my legs, which would be equally as worse. So when I came across Megababe's Thigh Rescue Anti-Chafe Stick, I knew I needed to give it a go.
'Fat Face's midi dress with pockets is the most flattering and comfy thing in my summer wardrobe'

Formulated with aloe, vitamin E, pomegranate seed extract, and grapeseed oil, it's full of good ingredients that melts instantly into skin and is cooling and relieving. You simply just glide this anti-friction balm over your arms, thighs or anywhere that tends toward roughness or chafing.
It also has a toxin-free formula includes soothing aloe and antioxidant-rich vitamin E to keep skin happy and hydrated, so it's a win win. What I first noticed was the smell, it smells absolutely divine, and I felt confident with it on knowing it smelt good. When applied, it glided so gracefully onto my legs and didn't even need rubbing in.
It comes in a solid balm, but instantly turns oily as you start to apply. It applied liberally, and covered up the areas well which I was pleased about, as I was worried about it being a little dry or even too oily, it wasn't. Perhaps a little more on the oily side and perhaps I used too much as it left me feeling a little too wet. But despite it smelling and going on nicely? How did it hold up?
It's clear to say this stuff lasts. Despite being thoroughly put to the test in 30C heat in London - the tubes are where the real chafing starts to happen - I didn't get any irritation.
Due to it being so hot and sticky on my morning commute and at work, I noticed I had sweat off a lot of it by the time I was making my way home, so I had to reapply before I made my way home, but it was more a precaution than a neccessity.
My only issue is that I am worried it may be quite oily, especially if it heats up in my bag during the day. I have also seen others say the oil has left stains on their clothes, so I am going to be quite wary of this in the future. Nevertheless, I am thrilled to have found a product that finally works.

Pet owners claiming free flea treatment as heatwave sees pests rise
Itch offers a monthly subscription service to ensure pet owners remember to give their cat or dog regular flea treatment, with the first month free for new customers As the warmer weather returns, for many pet owners, so too does the risk of fleas, with animals spending more time outdoors, and the temperatures being prime for the parasites to thrive. But one online brand is giving owners the chance to tackle an infestation before it happens with a free treatment kit. According to experts at Itch, five fleas on an untreated pet can lead to more than a million eggs infesting your home in as little as four weeks. This alarming figure comes from the rapid life cycle of fleas, with a single female flea laying up to 50 eggs per day, just 24 hours after mating. In warm, humid environments, like many UK homes during summer, these eggs hatch into larvae, develop into pupae, and soon emerge as adult fleas, ready to start the cycle again. In ideal conditions, this entire process takes just a few weeks - that's why a minor flea problem can explode into a full-blown home infestation if left unchecked. What many pet owners don't realise is that 95% of flea eggs, larvae and pupae live not on your pet, but in your home. Fleas lay eggs on pets that fall into carpets, sofas, bedding, and other soft furnishings. From there, they develop out of sight, waiting for the chance to jump back onto your pet. To prevent fleas, it's recommended to give your dog or cat regular flea treatment every month to protect them against flea infestations. Itch offers a monthly subscription service to help owners remember when it's time to apply, with the brand offering the first month for free. Free flea treatment Product Description The retailer is offering new members to their subscription service their first month on the house, all they'll need to pay for is the postage, which is £2.99. If they go on to continue with the subscription, each month will cost £9.50, but the delivery will be free. Itch also allows customers to pause, move or cancel their subscription at any time. Itch tailors the perfect dose for your cat or dog based on their breed and size to ensure you receive the perfect safe and effective dose. Owners simply answer a few quick questions about their pets, and Itch will recommend the right treatment. The vet-approved treatment uses the ingredient fipronil, which kills adult fleas, and (S)-methoprene, which stops eggs and larvae from developing. It's scientifically proven to kill and prevent fleas, but it is recommended to treat both your pet and the home, using something like Itch Flea Home Spray to kill fleas and their offspring around the house. It's also vital to vacuum regularly and wash pet bedding on a hot wash (60°C or above). There are several other reputable flea treatment brands available that offer an alternative to Itch. Frontline is one of the best-known brands, and is available on Amazon, containing the same active ingredient as Itch. However, some pets may not get along with the ingredient, in which case, Advantage uses imidacloprid, which is also effective against fleas and is suitable for both cats and dogs. The downside with these is that it may take a bit of research to work out which pack and dosage is best suited to your pet, whereas Itch does all the hard work for you. According to Itch, more than 100,000 pets are using their treatment each month to get rid of fleas and prevent them coming back. The brand has a 4 sar rating based on more than 10,000 reviews on TrustPilot, with many pleased with the service for banishing infestations. One said: 'I've been an Itch subscriber for more than 2 years and love it. Treatment works well for both my dog and my cat and it's great not to have to remember to buy it each month. Don't miss the days of forgetting to buy and finding ourselves infested.' 'My dog Rudy became infested with fleas, for a second time in a year,' another explained. 'I Googled 'flea treatment' for small dogs. "Itch" came well recommended, and I opened an account with them. 24 hours later, the flea treatment, together with a dog toothpaste and toothbrush, was in my letterbox.' Some people have been left frustrated by the delivery, though, writing: 'Whilst I'm happy with the products, delivery leaves a lot to be desired. It's difficult to keep flea and worming treatment up to date when Royal Mail deliveries are so haphazard.' Another said it was 'the only thing that works for my dogs'. They added: 'No more flea problems. I have a subscription, and although it's only on the third month, they have never arrived late. All the worry of making sure I buy them on time & working out which product is best is taken out of my hands.'

For those who use the argument that they do not have time to go to the gym in the midst of their everyday schedule, there are many pieces of fitness equipment online that you can purchase so you can make time at home to get a workout in. If you are unsure of where to start when building your at home gym, a must-have piece of equipment would be a fitness bench, as it allows you to do a variety of different exercises. Thankfully, Amazon has slashed the price of the Finer Form Multi-Functional Gym Bench down from £179.99 to £118.99 as part of a limited time deal. Perfect for both dumbbell and bodyweight exercises, this gym bench comes with a weight capacity of 660lbs and it can be adjusted to dozens of different positions depending on your gym session goals. The dimensions of the bench are 147.4D x 58.4W x 86.4H centimetres. Finer Form Multi-Functional Gym Bench Product Description Another popular exercise bench on Amazon is the FLYBIRD Adjustable Bench. Normally retailing at £99.99, shoppers can now grab it in a limited time deal for £84.98. Made with a stable base and a robust frame made of strictly controlled quality steel, this bench has a weight capacity of 700lbs. Alternatively, shoppers can grab the Pro Fitness Multi Bench from Argos for £119. With six adjustable positions and angles, this bench can help with a range of exercises. The bench also comes with an adjustable preacher curl pad to help with training your biceps. Back to the Finer Form Bench, the equipment currently has a 4.5 star rating from over 9,400 shoppers. Many people left raved reviews about the bench, with quite a few praising how easy it was to assemble. One happy shopper wrote: "Brilliant product! Does everything I need it to do in a home gym. I'm a 5ft girl and struggle with adjusting equipment in the gym as the lowest adjustment settings still tend to be unsuitable for my height, especially back/glute hypers, however this bench adjusts to the perfect settings for me. "Comfortable padding, easy adjustment, perfect size, very sturdy & stable & super easy to build. Would definitely recommend!" With another five-star reviewer adding: "Wonderful bench! Just the right size for home use, doesn't take too much space! Well built and sturdy. Easy to assemble by yourself." However, one shopper cautioned about the size of the bench. They said: "Sturdy enough but quite simply too small for most men. If you're 5' 9" or above it's too small. I'm 6' 2" and can just about make it work but any taller and you won't be able to use it." While another customer added: "Not sure if the leg pads are robust enough could do with some bigger padding and the main bench could also be slightly wider." Despite this, one impressed reviewer wrote: "Absolutely a great bit of gear. I was hesitant at first because of the price, however it's so well made and great quality." With a sixth shopper adding: "Perfect for a home gym. Plenty of variation available that allows for a bunch of different workouts." To buy the Finer Form Multi-Functional Gym Bench, click HERE. Boris Johnson's wife in hospital after birth of fourth child as she issues warning to new mums
Carrie and Boris Johnson welcomed baby Poppy on May 21 but the mum was back in hospital this week after a string of health problems. Boris Johnson's wife has been left in hospital weeks after the birth of her fourth child as she issued a warning to fellow mums this week. Carrie and the former Prime Minister welcomed baby Poppy on May 21 - Boris' ninth child. But Carrie revealed she has been treated in hospital for two nights for "severe dehydration" a little over a month since the little one's arrival. T he Mirror told how the 37-year-old took to social media on Friday to share how she had been rushed in for treatment, warning new mums to "eat and drink enough in this heat". The Johnsons, who wed in July 2021, already share sons Wilfred, five, and Frank, one, and daughter Romy, three. Taking to her Instagram stories, she wrote: 'Being hospitalised for two nights for my severe dehydration was not on my postpartum bingo card. "Breastfeeding mums make sure you eat and drink enough in this heat. Especially if your babe is clusterfeeding." She said: 'This week has honestly been brutal. Mastitis (me), reflux (her), dehydration (me). What a pair we are! But thank you for all the kindest messages, especially all the brilliant advice on reflux. Really appreciate it and made me feel way less alone going thru it all.' Mastitis is a common condition in breastfeeding women, sparked by an inflammation of breast tissue. The Tory former PM has always remained private about his family life but is understood to have at least nine children and has been married three times. He first wed Allegra Mostyn Owen after meeting her at Oxford University. The couple divorced after six years before Johnson, now 60, tied the knot with lawyer Marina Wheeler in 1993. They remained together for 25 years but separated in 2018 amid rumours of his affair with Tory spinner Carrie - who is 24 years his junior. The pair moved into No10 after Johnson became PM in 2019. Media consultant Carrie shares snapshots of their family life through Instagram.
