Where Do The Falcons Stand Now That We Are In July?
With training camp only 23 days away, it is time to look at how the Falcons are looking now that we are almost at the two-month mark until the season. The Falcons are in the best-case scenario when it comes to how their offense looks, and how they have brought in the necessary pieces for their defense.

With key new additions like Jalon Walker, James Pearce Jr., Xavier Watts, Jamal Agnew and Leonard Floyd, there have been key adds to the defensive side of the ball. On offense it is a bit different, it is mainly star players gaining more experience and coming off their best seasons.

The main story for the Falcons outside of the Kirk Cousins drama, is how Michael Penix Jr. can adjust to being a full-time starter. As of right now it is looking like Penix can take over this team and can be the quarterback that the Falcons have been looking for since Matt Ryan left.
The other story has been about Kyle Pitts and what will happen with him. As of right now he is a Falcon and will need to have his best career season if he wants to remain a member of the team and get a new contract for 2026. There have been multiple trade rumors for him including the Chiefs and Dolphins.

As of right now, the Falcons are one of the more intriguing teams for the 2025 season and will look to continue to improve. There are so many more stories to come out before the season begins and more updates for the Falcons will continue to come.

The Giants led 5-3 heading into the ninth, but Geraldo Perdomo led off with a single and then Ketel Marte — who was named a National League All-Star starter at second base earlier in the day — launched a tying homer to right off Camilo Doval for his 18th long ball of the season. Advertisement San Francisco retook the lead in the 10th on Bailey's fly ball to center after Lee advanced to third on an infield single by Heliot Ramos. Doval (4-2) worked the bottom of the 10th for the win. San Francisco's Mike Yastrzemski went deep on the second pitch of the game, driving a fastball into the right field seats. Lee's triple drove home Wilmer Flores to make it 2-0 in the first. The Giants pushed their advantage to 3-0 in the fifth on Rafael Devers' RBI single. Alek Thomas hit a leadoff homer to cut the deficit to 3-1 and the next three batters reached base against Landen Roupp with no outs. Lefty Erik Miller did an admirable job getting out of the jam, allowing Josh Naylor's sacrifice fly but perserving a 3-2 lead. Kershaw became the 20th pitcher to reach 3,000 when Vinny Capra took a slider for a called third strike for the final out of the sixth inning.
