Three Teams Who Could Be Interested In Kraken's Jamie Oleksiak
Oleksiak has been with the Kraken since its inaugural season after the Kraken selected him in the expansion draft. Since his arrival, the 32-year-old has played 311 games, scoring 16 goals and 74 points.
Throughout his time with the Kraken, Oleksiak has served as a dependable middle-to-bottom-pairing defenseman, but at his current cap hit and age, the safest and most logical trade candidate to clear up space is the 6-foot-7 defenseman.
His traits and skill set are highly valued, and the market for him will likely grow if he remains with the team throughout the season. With that being said, it might be in the Kraken's best interest to offload him now, and here are three teams that could be looking to acquire Oleksiak.
The Red Wings have been desperately trying to make the playoffs, and after a season where they fell short once again, the pressure is continuing to build. With a roster headlined by Lucas Raymond, Dylan Larkin, Alex DeBrincat, Moritz Serider and veterans like Patrick Kane and John Gibson, the front office is looking for players that will make the Red Wings tougher to play against.
Oleksiak would join a blueline filled with towering defensemen, helping the Red Wings follow the trend of tall defensemen.
Three Players The Kraken Could Trade Away At The 2026 Trade Deadline It's far too early to predict where the Seattle Kraken will be come March 2026, but most signs point towards the team being out of playoff contention at the time. With a plan of installing younger talent into the lineup, the Kraken will undoubtedly go through stretches of games where the performances are subpar.
The Mammoth are in a similar situation to the Red Wings. With young star talent like Logan Cooley, Dylan Guenther, and recently acquired JJ Peterka mixed with Clayton Keller and Mikhail Sergachev, adding an experienced and physical defenseman like Oleksiak could be what helps them get over the edge and into the playoffs.
Oleksiak can eat minutes, averaging north of 19 minutes in four of the last five seasons. The Mammoth have been working hard to add big players to their lineup, and Oleksiak could get them over the hump.
The Rangers moved Ryan Lindgren, a new Kraken defenseman, at the trade deadline to the Colorado Avalanche. His absence opened up space for the Rangers to chase after Vladislav Gavrikov, who will now serve as Adam Fox's partner. They also traded K'Andre Miller in the offseason, which opens up space for another left-handed defenseman.
Oleksiak could slide in nicely in any of the bottom two pairings, reuniting with Will Borgen or next to Braden Schneider. The Rangers had a difficult 2024-25 season but believe they could return to the playoffs next season.

Cameron Young runs away with Wyndham Championship to claim first PGA Tour win
It was only a matter of time before Cam Young won on the PGA Tour. Though he's been in the mix plenty of times lately, he left absolutely no doubt at Sedgefield Country Club on Sunday. Young, after briefly building up a massive eight-shot lead, cruised to a dominant six-shot win at the Wyndham Championship. It marked his inaugural Tour win after seven runner-up finishes in his career and four top-10 outings already this season. The win also earned him a $1.48 million check, which was part of an $8.2 million purse. Young is now the 1,000th unique winner in PGA Tour history, too. Young entered the final round with a five-shot lead already, thanks to his bogey-free 5-under 65 on Saturday. He grabbed an eight-shot lead at one point on Moving Day, too, after rattling off four straight birdies on his front nine. While he opened with a bogey on Sunday after leaving his approach on the first just shy of the green, Young made up for it immediately. He made five straight birdies and reclaimed his eight-shot lead once again without any issue whatsoever. Young made the turn at 4-under for the day, and saved his par at the ninth with a huge approach from the thick rough right next to the cart path. Though Young stumbled a bit at the end — he bogeyed the par-3 16th after missing an up-and-down par save, and then he made a second straight bogey at the 17th — it didn't matter one bit. He posted his final round 68 and rolled to the win. Mac Meissner finished alone in second at 16-under, and Mark Hubbard and Alex Noren tied for third at 15-under on the week. Matti Schmid finished T31 with his 1-over final round, which moved him to No. 70 in the FedExCup standings. He's the last man into the Tour's postseason and will get to compete in next week's FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis as a result. Davis Thompson, however, is the first man out. He went 2-under on Sunday, and even drained a 47-footer for a birdie late in the day to move inside the top-70. Thompson, though, ended up falling back out to No. 71. Young entered the week at No. 44 in the Official World Golf Rankings and was already a lock for the FedExCup Playoffs. But his win on Sunday will jump him up to No. 16 in the FedExCup standings, which is enough to send him through to the season-ending Tour Championship, and to No. 21 in the OWGR. It's also going to move him to No. 15 in the Ryder Cup standings. He started the week at No. 19 with no path to move into an automatic bid spot — only the top six qualify for the U.S. Team that way — but Young is now undoubtedly in the mix to earn a captain's pick to make the team, especially if he can keep this push going through the first two rounds of the playoffs. But regardless of whether or not he's representing the Americans next month or not, Young finally has a Tour win under his belt.

The PGA Tour's regular season is officially over. Cameron Young wrapped up the year with a dominant six-shot win at the Wyndham Championship on Sunday. That marked his inaugural Tour win, and made him the 1,000th unique winner in Tour history. Now all eyes will turn to the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, which marks the first of three playoffs events. The top 70 golfers in the standings after the Wyndham Championship earned entry into the postseason.
