Spurs' Harrison Barnes cut off from answering question amid Kevin Durant trade rumors
The post Spurs' Harrison Barnes cut off from answering question amid Kevin Durant trade rumors appeared first on ClutchPoints.
During a community event in Austin, Texas, San Antonio Spurs forward Harrison Barnes met with the media. Upon getting asked about his possible inclusion in a potential trade for Kevin Durant, a Spurs media relations employee shut down the question before the reporter could finish it.

'No, we're not doing any trade talk. Sorry,' the team's staffer interrupted.
It followed a question that comes in the midst of reports that Durant wants to be in San Antonio.
'How does it feel to be involved in trade talk…'
Multiple reports have indicated the Spurs are willing to offer several players, including Barnes, and their 14th pick in this month's NBA Draft for Durant. Those same reports, along with speculation, suggest the Phoenix Suns are looking for more.
Harrison Barnes faces trade question
On behalf of the Harrison and Brittany Barnes Community Fund, the veteran forward helped unveil a newly renovated basketball court at a Boys & Girls Clubs location in the state's capital city. Austin is approximately an hour away from San Antonio by car.

When Spurs players do such events, usually in the Alamo City, it's common for them to take basketball-related questions as well. But in the rare cases that the player's name is involved in contexts the franchise would rather avoid, the Spurs media staff has limited related questions.
The Spurs have been linked to Durant for several weeks now. Because San Antonio is reportedly his preferred landing spot, the organization isn't throwing the kitchen sink at the Suns in a trade proposal. Truth be told, they wouldn't even if KD hadn't reportedly stated he wants to play in the Alamo City.
The future Hall-of-Famer will be 37 years old when next season starts. The Silver and Black don't have the intention of trading the second overall pick in the draft and, thus, the chance to add Dylan Harper, nor do they want to part with Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle.
Harrison Barnes and Kevin Durant history
At 33 years old and, admittedly, probably not part of the Spurs young core, rumblings indicate Barnes is a piece the Spurs are willing to part with in exchange for Durant.

It wouldn't mark the first time Barnes would be replaced by KD. The former North Carolina standout left the Golden State Warriors in the summer of 2016 after the Dubs signed Durant.
Golden State, which won a championship with Barnes, added two more with the one-time Oklahoma City Thunder star, and there is a chance history could repeat itself this offseason.

Bucks Send Personal Message to Giannis Antetokounmpo After Big Announcement
Bucks Send Personal Message to Giannis Antetokounmpo After Big Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered another MVP-caliber season in 2024–25, dominating the NBA with averages of 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game, ranking him 2nd in scoring and 6th in both rebounds and field-goal percentage (60.1%). Advertisement In the postseason, he elevated his game further, averaging 33.0 points, 15.4 rebounds, and 6.6 assists across five games. Thursday bore the fruit of his hard work. Giannis earned a nomination for the 2025 ESPY Award – Best NBA Player, announced on June 26. Bucks management immediately celebrated the honor, posting a personal message on X, 'Congrats to Giannis on his ESPY nomination!'. Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (34).© Trevor Ruszkowski-Imagn Images Even more memorable is the date June 27, marking exactly 12 years since Giannis was drafted by Milwaukee as the 15th overall pick in 2013. To commemorate that pivotal moment, the Bucks shared another tribute on X, saying, 'The day that changed everything.' This succinct yet powerful message captured the profound impact of Giannis joining the franchise. Since his arrival, Antetokounmpo has reshaped Milwaukee's identity. He led the Bucks to their first NBA title in 50 years in 2021 and was named Finals MVP. Advertisement He has claimed two regular‑season MVPs, one Defensive Player of the Year award and Most Improved Player honors, and has been a First‑Team All‑NBA selection consistently since 2019. Along the way, he shattered franchise records, including the most points in a single game (64) and numerous rebounding milestones. Before Giannis arrived, Milwaukee had little postseason success or national visibility. His presence has strongly shifted that narrative. Giannis Antetokounmpo's Cryptic Reaction Seems To Mock Trade Rumors As Warriors, Knicks Show Interest
Giannis Antetokounmpo's Cryptic Reaction Seems To Mock Trade Rumors As Warriors, Knicks Show Interest originally appeared on Fadeaway World. The Giannis Antetokounmpo trade saga began ever since the Bucks' first-round exit in the 2025 NBA Playoffs. After weeks of rumors and deliberations around his future, he and people close to him finally broke their silence on his future and clarified that he has no interest in leaving the Bucks at the moment. Moreover, he even claimed that he plans to retire with the Bucks. Therefore, seemingly puts a public end to the rumors. Advertisement Yet, according to the NY Post, three new teams have entered the race, beyond previously known interested teams. The Knicks, Warriors, and Heat are reportedly teams interested in trading for Giannis beyond the Spurs, Nets, and the Rockets. Shortly after a social media post on this went viral, Antetokounmpo posted a cryptic message from his X account, seemingly asking teams to "pull up" with multiple laughing emojis. Giannis is seemingly confident in his influence on the Bucks' front office and wants to say that even if these teams come to the front office with their best offers, it will be of no use since he has committed his long-term future to the organization. He is seemingly amused that the rumor mill seems to keep generating these team names and interest rumors without any basis or interest from Antetokounmpo to join those teams. Advertisement Only based on that first impression, several fans even commented on his post, suggesting the potential places where he should "pull up" in the trade market. Hence, we are also going based on the first impression of what he is trying to say, and it may be inaccurate in some way. The Greek superstar averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in the regular season this year. The entire Bucks roster is built around him, and there is no incentive for the Bucks to trade their best player and go into a full rebuild at this point. Antetokounmpo has three years (including a player option) left on his contract with the Bucks, and he fully intends on honoring his commitment. What Can An NBA Team Do To Convince Bucks To Trade Giannis With Damian Lillard out for the foreseeable future with an ACL injury, the Bucks are severely handicapped in terms of putting together a championship-contending roster in the next season without him. Moreover, the Bucks have severely depleted their draft assets, so they do not have much to offer another team in a trade to bring more solid pieces around Giannis. Advertisement Therefore, the Bucks have two options from here: either they trade their superstar Antetokounmpo and go into a full rebuild mode with the assets they get, or they put all the pressure on their one player to carry the team to what will likely be mediocrity. Lillard's injury has seriously hindered the championship window the Bucks had with him and Giannis. To convince the Bucks to trade Giannis, in my opinion, at least two young stars with a high upside and three first-round draft picks, along with additional swaps or second-round picks, should be enough to give the Bucks significant assets to initiate their rebuild. If they trade Antetokounmpo, they will likely show Lillard the exit door next when he becomes trade-eligible. Bucks Predicted to Land All-Star to Help Giannis Antetokounmpo
Bucks Predicted to Land All-Star to Help Giannis Antetokounmpo originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Milwaukee Bucks are entering the offseason with a lot of questions surrounding the roster. After another early playoff exit, Milwaukee has to attempt to form a more well-rounded team around star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Advertisement Antetokounmpo has been in multiple trade rumors, but it seems that he is likely to remain with the team for now. With Antetokounmpo likely returning, the front office has more pressure to build a title-contending squad. But with star guard Damian Lillard likely out for the season due to an Achilles injury, things could be tough. Milwaukee will need to replace him in the lineup, and they will likely target guards this offseason. NBA writer Zach Buckley listed landing spots for some of the free agent guards and had the Bucks picking up an All-Star. That would be veteran D'Angelo Russell, who could help the team fill a role for the season. "Russell, a former All-Star who won't turn 30 until February, could qualify as such. He has put together helpful stat lines in the past; just in 2023-24, he gave the Lakers an efficient 18 points and 6.3 assists per night. Advertisement "Milwaukee also needs someone to run the offense in place of Damian Lillard, who's out indefinitely after tearing his Achilles in April (and could be needed to make the money work if the Bucks go big on the trade market). Russell offers a similar—albeit far less dynamic—blend of scoring, playmaking and perimeter shooting," Buckley wrote. Brooklyn Nets guard D'Angelo Russell (1) sets the play while being defended by Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday (4) during the first half at Barclays Center. John Jones-Imagn Images Adding Russell on a short deal could benefit the Bucks for next season with Lillard out. Russell is more than capable of running an offense and could help Milwaukee with his floor spacing and shooting ability. Bringing in a veteran guard like Russell could give the Bucks a boost and would allow Antetokounmpo some help. This could be a low-risk, high-reward signing for Milwaukee if it took place.
