Amazon Recall Update: Warning Over Multiple Products Sold Nationwide

Miami Herald3 days ago
Amazon and several third-party vendors issued nationwide recalls for various children's products, including safety gates, crib bumpers, dressers and play yard mattresses.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported that the products, sold exclusively online on Amazon.com, posed hazards such as suffocation, entrapment and tip-over injuries. Each recall notice urged consumers to stop using the affected items immediately and offered refunds for products that are destroyed and documented with photos. No injuries have been reported from the recalled items.
Recalls are issued when concerns arise that a product is defective or potentially harmful in some way, such as when testing shows that foods are contaminated with potentially deadly bacteria or have been infected with a foreign object during the manufacturing process.
The recall of multiple child-focused products highlights continued risks associated with unregulated or noncompliant imports sold by third-party vendors on major online platforms. These latest recalls demonstrate that products violating federal standards remain available to U.S. consumers, underlining the importance of regulatory oversight and Amazon's marketplace responsibility.
Dearlomum Retractable Safety Gates
About 2,200 Dearlomum Retractable Safety Gates were recalled after being sold on Amazon between December 2024 and May for $33 to $38. The gates, distributed by Signbaby, can entrap a child's torso between the gate and floor, risking injury or death. The product violates federal regulations for children's gate safety. To receive a full refund, consumers must cut and destroy the gate and submit documentation to Signbaby.
AUGNORYE Padded Crib Bumpers
YIXIA recalled about 356 units of AUGNORYE Padded Cushioned Crib Bumpers on July 10. These products were sold from February to May on Amazon for $40 to $45. The CPSC found that the soft bumpers violated the federal ban on padded crib bumpers, presenting a suffocation risk that could create an unsafe sleep environment for infants. Refunds are offered when consumers cut and document destruction of the products.
Braided Crib Bumpers by Haoyunm
About 260 braided crib bumpers, imported by Haoyunm, were recalled for violating the same federal ban as the AUGNORYE product. Sold in various lengths and colors on Amazon from December 2024 to April, the unmarked bumpers are considered suffocation hazards. Customers are required to cut the product in half and provide evidence to receive a refund.
WLIVE Fabric Dressers
Jiangsu Zhi Pai Furniture Manufacturing Co. Ltd. recalled about 6,600 WLIVE Fabric 15-Drawer Dressers, sold for about $110 each between April 2024 and May 2025 on Amazon. The product is unstable and poses tip-over and entrapment risks unless anchored to a wall, violating the federal STURDY Act standard for clothing storage units, according to the CPSC. Refunds are processed after customers submit disposal documentation.
Creekliybear Play Yard Mattresses
Kbabyea recalled 21,500 Creekliybear aftermarket play yard mattresses. These products, sold online on Amazon for $28 to $40 from December 2024 to June, exceed federally mandated thickness requirements. They may not fit standard play yards, presenting a potential fatal entrapment hazard, the CPSC said. Refunds are processed for those providing proof of mattress destruction.
Amazon said on its product recall page: "Our Product Safety Team proactively investigates and addresses reported safety complaints and incidents to ensure customer protection from potential product-related safety risks. We closely monitor public recall alert websites and receive notifications from vendors and sellers. Upon discovering a product recall, we immediately halt affected product offerings, and promptly inform both customers and sellers involved about the recall."

See at Amazon The lack of active noise cancellation or personalized spatial audio might be a drawback for some, but the Bose Solo 4 more than makes up for it with excellent sound and phenomenal battery life. For less than $100, it's hard to think of a better balance of performance, comfort and brand reliability – especially from an institution with Apple's track record. The Solo 4 is designed for seamless compatibility with both Apple and Android devices, which makes it a great choice regardless of your smartphone ecosystem. Pairing is quick and effortless and the connection remains stable thanks to Bluetooth technology. I would walk 500 miles (and I would walk 500 more) in the On Cloud 5 sneaker — and it just hit its lowest price after Prime Day!

Amazon Prime Day is over, but deals are still available on a range of products, including the hugely popular On sneaker range. Right now, you can grab the On Cloud 5 sneaker for $117 at Amazon on selected colors and sizes for a limited time until stocks sell out — that's almost $100 off and the lowest price, even after Prime Day! Remember, the deal varies depending on size and color. Check out the options below to shop. The On Cloud 5 is versatile enough for everyday wear, and looks pretty darn good, too. I'd happily walk the miles in these sneakers, and customers highly rate them for being lightweight, high quality and perfect for long periods of wear. Men's are on sale, too! As a range, On is seriously taking off. I've noticed that many of my clients and others at my classes are opting for these sneakers over the likes of Adidas and Nike these days. And as we are all aware, the cost of living is hardly affordable right now, so any money we can save on our favorite sneakers is a bargain. You'll need to check the sizes and colors for the On Cloud 5, but the payoff could be worth it for a little post-Prime Day discount. The On Cloud 5 is rated as an everyday sneaker, and some happy customers have said it's perfect for long hours of walking or standing, due to its lightweight design and super cushioned collar. I even read that someone transitioned from Brooks to On, which is a huge testament to the shoe's quality. I really love the On design; it's stripped back, and the color palette is simple and understated, making the shoe look stylish and versatile. On includes a removable insole and a patented CloudTec sole with a 7mm heel drop. Zero-Gravity foam provides plenty of cushioning, and the molded heel gives you immediate comfort with zero break-in required. A little touch I like is the speed lacing system, which basically means you can forget tying knots as you're ready to go. On do provide classic laces in the box if you prefer them too. I strongly recommend shopping before this shoe disappears.

Are you worried about the impact of AI on the jobs market? Have your say

UK companies are cutting back on hiring for jobs that are more likely to be disrupted by artificial intelligence (AI), a study has found. The analysis by consultancy firm McKinsey & Co found that the overall number of job postings were down 31% in the three months to May, compared to the same period in 2022, according to a Bloomberg report. However, the drop in postings was found to be the most pronounced in roles expected to be more impacted by the rollout of AI, such as tech or finance. Listings for these roles declined 38% in that three month period, which nearly double the fall found elsewhere. Tera Allas, a senior adviser at McKinsey, reportedly said: "The anticipation of significant – albeit uncertain – future productivity gains, especially as the technology and its applications mature, is prompting companies to review their workforce strategies and pause aspects of their recruitment." Read more: Bank of England could cut interest rates faster if jobs market slows, Bailey says Some major companies have already suggested that their workforce will be impacted by AI. For example, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy recently warned that the rollout of AI across the tech company would likely result in jobs cuts in the coming years. Meanwhile, BT Group (BT-A.L) CEO Allison Kirkby said last month that advances in AI could deepen job cuts already underway at the telecoms company. McKinsey's study comes as data points to a broader slowdown in the UK jobs market. Figures from the Office for National Statistics, released in June, showed that the UK's unemployment rate rose to 4.6% in April, the highest level since July 2021. Meanwhile, an early estimate of payrolled employees for May 2025 fell by 109,000, or 0.4%. In addition, the ONS data showed that the estimated number of vacancies in the UK fell by 63,000 on the quarter, to 736,000 in March to May 2025. Bank of England governor Andrew Bailey said in an interview with The Times, published on Sunday, that the central bank ready to lower interest rates further if the UK job market begins to show clear signs of slowing down.
