Scooter Braun Opens Up About The One Taylor Swift Song Many Swifties Believed Was Be About Him
Scooter Braun Reveals His Thoughts About Taylor Swift Potentially Slamming Him In A Song
After Swift released her 10th studio album in October 2022, many believed the song "Vigilante Sh-t" was about Braun and his ex-wife, Yael Cohen.
In the pop track, Swift sings about helping a woman get revenge on a man who did her wrong.
"Draw the cat eye, sharp enough to kill a man / You did some bad things, but I'm the worst of them," Swift sings over the beat, later adding, "She needed cold hard proof so I gave her some / She had the envelope, where you think she got it from?"
According to Braun, however, there's no way Swift's track could be about him and Cohen, considering they talk "every day."
Braun Says Taylor Swift's Song Is Not About Him And His Ex-Wife
"My ex-wife is one of my best friends. So, me and my ex-wife laugh at that stuff," Braun said on an episode of the "Question Everything" podcast.
Braun shared that he and Cohen, who share three kids together, Jagger, Levi, and Hart, are in such a good place that they hardly refer to each other as "ex" partners.
"That's the mother of my children," he said. "That is my family for life. I have a tattoo on my finger that says 'same team' after my divorce, because she and I are the same team for life. It's what we say to each other."
Braun doubled down on his denial, stating that he and Cohen "never thought [the song] was about us."
"Great strategy move," he stated, "but no."
Taylor Swift And Scooter Braun Have Had A Complicated Past
It's no surprise that many believed Swift's song "Vigilante Sh-t" was about Braun, considering their contentious history dates back to 2019, when Braun acquired Swift's former label, Big Machine, in a $300 million deal that included the rights to her first six albums.
In a letter shared to her Tumblr page, Swift expressed her disappointment with the deal, saying she "wasn't given an opportunity to buy" her masters before they were sold. "Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it," she wrote.
Swift Was Able To Buy Her Masters Back In 2025
Eventually, Braun sold Swift's catalog to Shamrock Capital in 2020, and in 2025, the "Cruel Summer" singer was finally able to purchase it herself after completing her record-breaking "Eras Tour."
'I almost stopped thinking it would ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away,' she wrote. 'But that's all in the past now. I've been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words.'
'All I've ever wanted was the opportunity to work hard enough to be able to one day purchase my music outright with no strings attached, no partnership, with full autonomy,' she continued. 'I will be forever grateful to everyone at Shamrock Capital for being the first people to ever offer this to me.'
Swift went on to praise Shamrock Capital for handling their business deal in an "honest, fair, and respectful" manner.
"... I really felt like they saw it for what it was to me: my memory and my sweat and my handwriting and my decades of dreams. I am endlessly thankful. My first tattoo might just be a huge shamrock in the middle of my forehead," she added.
Braun Paid His Ex-Wife $20 Million In Divorce Settlement
Based on a report from PEOPLE, Braun paid Cohen $20 million as part of their divorce settlement.
Although the music executive walked away with assets including more than 100 pieces of art, a 2018 Porsche Cayenne, a 2019 Tesla Model X, and a $65 million mansion, Cohen also retained several luxury items.
According to the report, the F-ck Cancer founder was able to remain inside their $30 million Brentwood home, as well as keep a 2021 Land Rover Defender and several pieces of art.

The Democratic Senator has eviscerated the president for trying to blame her party for a mess entirely of his own making.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar slammed President Donald Trump for blaming Democrats for the mess he created with the Epstein files with a hilarious comparison. 'The president blaming Democrats for this disaster is like that CEO that got caught on camera blaming Coldplay,' the Minnesota Democrat said Sunday in an interview with CNN. 'This is his making.' Klobuchar was, of course, referring to this week's viral scandal surrounding tech company Astronomer's CEO Andy Byron and HR chief Christin Cabot, whose secret romance was spectacularly betrayed to their respective spouses after the pair were caught on a Jumbotron camera canoodling at the British band's Massachusetts concert Wednesday night.

Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan Are 'Not Separated or Divorced' Following Catfish Saga: 'Fake News,' Rocker Says
NEED TO KNOW Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan are "not separated or divorced" following the catfish saga that unfolded on social media in May 2025 On Saturday, July 19, Lee cleared up the split rumors by sharing a couple selfie on Instagram with a caption about "fake news" The rocker's denial came after the pair allegedly spent some time apart, a source previously told PEOPLETommy Lee is shutting down rumors that he and Brittany Furlan have split. On Saturday, July 19, the Mötley Crüe rocker, 62, shared a selfie with Furlan, 38, on Instagram that marked the couple's first public feed post together since May's catfish saga unfolded. Split rumors arose when Furlan revealed that she had been seduced by a catfish posing as musician Ronnie Radke. Having gone relatively quiet on his social media in the wake of the drama, Lee is now confirming the catfish saga hasn't torn their marriage apart. 'Hey fake news,' the rocker wrote in the caption of his latest Instagram post. 'We're not separated or divorced!! Get your s--- together!! 🤣.' Just a few hours earlier, Furlan had also nodded to the couple's relationship status with a post of her own. The former Vine star shared a video depicting two silhouettes — seemingly hers and Lee's — sharing a kiss on Instagram Stories. The couple's public reconciliation comes after Furlan shared several vaguely inspirational posts — including a July 19 video about overcoming 'darkness' and moving out of a 'lowest point.' Meanwhile, Lee took an Instagram hiatus except for a couple of nature-related posts. The alleged tension between Lee and Furlan — who met on celebrity dating app Raya in 2017 and got married in 2019 — kicked off in May. At the time, the comedian shared a since-deleted TikTok where she admitted to exchanging Snapchat messages with someone she believed to be Falling In Reverse frontman Radke during a 'tough time' in her six-year marriage. "Basically, I told my husband everything,' Furlan said of messaging the Snapchat user she believed to be Radke. 'I said, you know, 'I've been talking to whoever I thought this was on Snapchat — he says it's not him, cool, whatever — 'cause I'm a good person. I mean, I'm not a good person for talking to someone while married. I've been going through a lot in my marriage. No excuse, whatever.' The video came after Radke claimed that Furlan was catfished by someone pretending to be him in a series of Instagram Stories posts. Radke also alleged that Lee had threatened him over the situation, a claim Furlan backed up in her video. "I come clean to my husband, my husband freaks out, messages [Radke]," the podcaster said in the since-deleted TikTok, adding that "that's how this all started." Lawyers were involved on both sides, according to posts from Radke and Furlan. Around the same time, a TMZ report alleged that Lee and Furlan had been living apart amid concerns over Lee's alleged drinking behavior. The Mötley Crüe rocker publicly nodded to the ongoing drama in his marriage in a since-deleted Instagram post that read: 'Who's been catfished?' is now available in the Apple App Store! Download it now for the most binge-worthy celeb content, exclusive video clips, astrology updates and more! Shortly after the catfish saga unfolded on social media, a source close to the couple told PEOPLE that the pair were taking some time apart. The insider also said that prior to the very public exchanges between the pair and Radke, Lee and Furlan's relationship was already 'drama, drama, drama.' A relationship status update came in early June, when Furlan revealed that the May drama ultimately made her and her rocker husband closer. 'All of this happening has weirdly brought us together, which is really strange,' she said on her This Is the Worst podcast. 'I think we really faced like, 'Oh, what would life really be like without each other?' " Read the original article on People
