An additional 280,000 units are under construction, including 216,000 social housing units and 64,000 green housing units.
The latest phase, 'Housing for All Egyptians 5,' saw record demand, with 762,000 application booklets sold and 561,000 applications processed. Applicants will receive status updates by March 18, 2025.
In 10th of Ramadan City, 81,736 social housing units have been built; with 67,288 completed and 14,448 under construction. The city has 65,136 allocated units and 67,288 available for new applicants.
For middle-income housing, 1,632 units have been developed; with 1,056 completed and 576 under construction. Meanwhile, 10,740 green housing units are being built in the city's latest development phases.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Tuesday chaired a meeting to review efforts to advance the country's agricultural fertiliser industry and its distribution system, his office said in a statement. Madbouly stressed the government's continuous interest in developing vital industrial sectors, including fertilisers, given their importance in meeting local needs amid the country's agricultural expansion. The meeting was attended by the ministers of industry, military production, finance, agriculture, public business sector, investment, and petroleum, as well as the head of the Consumer Protection Agency and other officials. The prime minister highlighted the facilities provided to support the fertiliser industry and attract more investment, which contributes to increasing production to meet local demand and positively impacts agricultural productivity, helping to achieve food security goals. He also pointed to the potential for exporting surplus fertilisers and opening new international markets. Madbouly noted the importance of continuously developing the fertiliser industry to keep pace with global advancements in modern agricultural techniques, which require specialised and advanced fertilisers to increase production and apply sustainable farming practices. According to a government spokesperson, the meeting reviewed the efforts of various entities to advance the industry to achieve greater self-sufficiency and export the surplus. It also addressed the development and modernisation of the fertiliser distribution system to ensure it reaches eligible farmers and prevents leakages of support to non-beneficiaries. In this regard, the prime minister emphasised the importance of continuing to govern the distribution system, expanding the mechanisation of services, and continuing to purge agricultural records of 'ghost' holdings. This, he said, would tighten control over fertiliser distribution from the factory to the eligible farmers.

As part of broader efforts to stabilize domestic markets and ease pressure on citizens, the Egyptian government has launched a nationwide initiative to reduce the prices of essential commodities, the Cairo Chamber of Commerce announced on Tuesday. The initiative—set to roll out in the coming days—follows directives from Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to establish effective mechanisms for market regulation, ensure the availability of basic goods, and support low- and middle-income households. Public–private cooperation intensifies On Monday, the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade convened a high-level meeting with the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), attended by Supply Minister Sherif Farouk, FEDCOC President Ahmed El-Wakeel, Cairo Chamber Chairman Ayman El-Ashry, and representatives from major retail chains and supply companies. Speaking at the meeting, El-Ashry emphasized the private sector's readiness to support the state's efforts, noting that traders and suppliers have pledged to voluntarily reduce profit margins to help lower prices without compromising product quality or availability. 'This initiative represents a timely and strategic response to current market pressures. We are committed to engaging constructively to ensure fair pricing and consistent supply for consumers, particularly those most affected by recent economic challenges,' El-Ashry said. Targeting core commodities The initiative will primarily target core commodities, including food staples, cooking oil, rice, dairy products, and household goods. Participating retailers will adjust prices to better reflect actual production costs and consumer purchasing power. According to the Ministry, the campaign will be accompanied by increased monitoring efforts and coordination with local chambers to ensure transparency and prevent manipulation or artificial shortages. Balancing market mechanisms Officials clarified that the initiative does not signal a return to state price controls but instead aims to reinforce free-market principles through voluntary cooperation and targeted supply chain interventions. Minister Farouk reiterated the government's commitment to striking a balance between market freedom and consumer protection, pledging continued regulatory and technical support to private sector stakeholders. Toward sustainable market stability Beyond immediate price cuts, the government is pursuing structural reforms, including expanding domestic production, strengthening local supply chains, and encouraging investment in strategic sectors such as agriculture and food processing. Participants at the meeting agreed on the importance of maintaining open dialogue between the public and private sectors to safeguard market stability and supply chain resilience. As global inflationary pressures persist, Egypt's coordinated effort to reduce local prices represents a key step toward protecting household budgets and preserving social cohesion. Egypt's annual inflation rate eased to 14.4 percent in June, down from 16.5 percent in May, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS). The monthly Consumer Price Index (CPI) edged down by 0.1 percent to 258.1 points—the first decline in several months. Globally, the US Federal Reserve held interest rates steady at 4.5 percent amid moderated growth in the first half of 2025, elevated inflation, and the economic impacts of the Trump administration's renewed tariff policy. Govt. paying great attention to developing national industry
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said the government is paying great attention to developing the national industry, which is a pillar for achieving sustainable economic development. He highlighted the government's efforts to stimulate industrial production through improving the business environment, simplifying procedures to support both local and foreign investors, encouraging innovation and technology in the industrial sector, and implementing an investment plan to strengthen domestic manufacturing across various sectors. The prime minister made the remarks during a meeting he held on Monday, August 4th, 2025, to review the efforts being made to support the localization of industries in Egypt. The meeting was attended by Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel al-Wazir, Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah al-Din, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Public Business Sector Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan el Khatib, as well as some officials from the ministries and authorities concerned. The meeting discussed various efforts and measures taken to support industry and overcome the challenges it faces, Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed al-Homosany said.
