During the India tour of England in 2002, Dravid played four matches and amassed a total of 602 runs in six innings. Gill, on the other hand, has 603 runs to his name in six innings of three matches.
Gill, who scored 16 runs in the first innings of the Lord's Test, needed only two runs to break Dravid's record in the second innings, and he achieved the objective by scoring two runs on the last ball of the 13th over bowled by Brydon Carse.
