Ultimate nostalgia trip: Debauched European tours for the middle-aged
That's not such an anomaly, either, because there are plenty of artists and bands who enjoyed a brief rush of fame in the '90s or 2000s still touring the world, still playing to adoring audiences of parents who have left their kids with a babysitter for the evening.
The Waifs are playing wineries. The Offspring are doing arena tours. Salt-N-Pepa are on the festival circuit. Hanson are still a going concern. Frenzal Rhomb are coming to an RSL near you. (No shade, I love Frenzal Rhomb.)
I saw '90s skate-punk band Pennywise play recently, and a friend pointed out that everyone who raised their phone in the air to take a video had a photo of their kids as their wallpaper.
All of this points to a peculiarity among Gen X and Millennials. There's a hunger among this ageing cohort for throwback experiences, for blasts from an increasingly distant past. We're still cool, right? We still do all the same things?
That's why we can go to Ministry of Sound gigs that begin at 4pm. We can still play Mario Kart on a new Nintendo. We still consider Back to the Future a good movie.
So … how about we all go on Contiki again?
Hear me out here because this might just be the ultimate revival experience. Gen X-ers and Millennials love reliving moments from their past, so how about an ultra-budget three-week jaunt around Europe to really tap that nostalgia vein?

Sydney Sweeney feels 'confident and comfortable' in jeans
Sydney Sweeney has declared she feels "confident and comfortable" in jeans after signing up as the new face of American Eagle Outfitters. The 27-year-old actress stars in the brand's new denim campaign which will feature the slogan "Sydney Sweeney has great jeans" when it launches later this year - and Sydney has admitted it suits her laidback style. She explained in a statement: "There is something so effortless about American Eagle - it's the perfect balance of being put-together but still feeling like yourself. "Their commitment to creating pieces that make you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin is something that resonates with me. "It's rare to find a brand that grows with you, the way American Eagle has for generations. They have literally been there with me through every version of myself." Craig Brommers, chief marketing officer for American Eagle Outfitters, admitted signing up Sydney was a a huge deal for the company because the actress is the "It girl of the moment". He told WWD: "I think this is potentially one of the biggest gets in American Eagle histor. "Sydney Sweeney is the It girl of the moment, and she is helping us create the It jeans campaign of the season. Sydney really encapsulates American Eagle. "She is the girl who can play the red carpet but she's also the girl next door, and that duality really defines Gen Z and Millennials." Brommers revealed that Sydney made it clear she "legitimately loves our jeans", adding: "I think she just has this magnetism that everyone, women and men, are drawn to." The news comes after it was reported that Sydney is branching out into fashion herself by launching a lingerie line with backing from Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos and his new wife, Lauren Sanchez, who have "invested" in her project. A source told Us Weekly that Sydney's new lingerie line is launching "very soon" but she has actually been working on the lingerie line for "for the last year" and it's now close to launching. The insider explained: "This has been a huge project for her and something she's been working on for the last year."

Social media users have shown their anger as Wicked actress Cynthia Erivo is cast to play Jesus
Social media has sounded off over the 'woke' casting of Cynthia Ervio as Jesus in a live performance of Jesus Christ Superstar. The cast, which also features Queen frontman Adam Lambert as Judas and Josh Gad as King Herod, has sent social media into meltdown amid accusations that the cast was woke. One commenter said, 'Jesus was not a woman', with another agreeing, saying 'Am I the only person that thinks Jesus being played by a woman is just a bridge too far?' Another fan wrote "This is beyond woke." The criticism seems to stem that for the first time in the history of the production, Jesus won't be played by a man. Miss Everio told Billboard that she wasn't going to please everyone. 'Why not? You can't please everyone. It is legitimately a three-day performance at the Hollywood Bowl where I get to sing my face off. So hopefully they will come and realise, 'Oh, it's a musical, the gayest place on Earth," she told Billboard. Miss Erivo, who lives in London identifies as queer and bisexual is in a relationship with a woman. She is set to reprise her role as Elphaba in Wicked: For Good, which is due in cinemas in November this year.
