‘Soothrakavyam' trailer: Vincy Aloshious, Shine Tom Chacko film promises a mystery thriller
The trailer shows Vincy playing a teacher in a school. Vincy's character is seen irritated as her students miss her classes to be part of sessions taken by Shine Tom Chacko's character, a cop.
The trailer shows a series of humorous sequences before the tonal shift, as we are introduced to a police investigation track. Written and directed by Eugien Jos Chirammel, the movie will hit the screens on July 11, 2025.

Soothrakavyam is based on the story by Rejin S Babu and produced by Srikanth Kandragula under the banner Cinemabandi Productions in association with Saregama. The movie will be presented by Kandragula Lavanya Rani.
The movie was surrounded by controversy as Shine Tom Chacko faced allegations of drug abuse and misconduct raised against him by Vincy on the sets of Soothrakavyam. The actor was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act Sections 27 (Punishment for consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance) and Sections 29 (punishment for abetment and criminal conspiracy).

During an inspection by Kochi's District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF), the actor fled from a hotel. Eventually, the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) issued a final warning to the actor against his alleged drug use and misconduct at work place.
On June 06, 2025, CP Chacko (70), father of Shine Tom Chacko, was killed in a road accident. The crash happened on the Dharmapuri national highway near Palacode in Dharmapuri district. While the septuagenarian was killed on the spot, the 41-year-old actor, his brother Joe John Chacko (36) and their mother Maria Carmel (65) were injured along with the driver.

‘Hridayapoorvam' teaser: Mohanlal charms in Sathyan Anthikad's upcoming drama, meets a Fahadh Faasil superfan

While the film saw a slight dip compared to its opening day, its overall performance still reflects a decent run. Occupancy grows steadily through the day As reported by the Sacnilk website, on Saturday (Day 3), the film registered an overall 16.72% occupancy across Malayalam screens. Though the morning shows saw a low turnout at 5.61%, viewership steadily increased. It peaked at 28.52% during night shows. Key regions like Kochi (31% night occupancy) and Chennai (36%) showed better engagement. Meanwhile Bengaluru maintained a consistent pace with a respectable 27.75% overall occupancy. Audience response remains moderate but supportive Directed by Pravin Narayanan, the courtroom drama features Suresh Gopi in a powerful role alongside Shruthi Ramachandran, Anupama Parameswaran, and Divya Pillai. Janaki V vs State Of Kerala - Official Trailer The first reviews for the Suresh Gopi starrer are mixed and ETimes gave the movie a rating of 2.5 stars out of 5.
