I've been sleeping on the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress for one week — here's what I wish it did better
Don't be deceived by that starting cost, though. The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid — which we consider one of the best mattresses of 2025 — is cheaper overall. And the two share similar construction, although the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress swaps wrapped coils for a high-density foam core.

I'll be publishing my full DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress review next month once I've had more time to adjust to the feel. In the meantime, I'm sharing my first-week impressions as someone who's tested dozens of mattresses, including the previous DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid.
At this point, I can say there's a lot to like about the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress — notably, I'm not overheating even while trying to sleep in a heatwave. However, it suffers from one major flaw that's led to some achy mornings.

The DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress costs $299 for a twin and $799 for a queen. These are the standard prices we see during the year-round DreamCloud mattress sale (although we spotted an extra 15% off in a recent flash sale.)
Hybrid mattresses typically cost more than all-foam ones but that's not the case here. DreamCloud charges up to $200 more for its Classic Memory Foam Mattress but, slightly confusingly, the twin-size is $100 less than its hybrid counterpart.

As always, DreamCloud includes a lifetime mattress warranty. a one-year sleep trial and free shipping and returns. Occasionally, the brand throws in free pillows, sheets and a mattress protector with purchase, valued at up to $599.
DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress (queen): $799 at DreamCloudThis updated version of the DreamCloud memory foam mattress costs about $150 more than the sale price of its predecessor but the Classic sports a sleeker design (at the expense of side carry handles) with a new cooling cover to help soothe you to sleep. This discount has held steady at DreamCloud for quite a while, although we briefly saw it for 15% less during a flash sale that coincided with Amazon Prime Week.
My twin-size DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress arrived at my front door two days after placing the order. DreamCloud says that delivery usually takes 2-5 business days, although shipping time can vary by model and size.
At 41lbs, I didn't have much difficulty hauling the mattress by myself but I would recommend getting help with setup if you have a larger bed than I do. Even a queen-size DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress weighs 69lbs.
If you're unfamiliar with how to set up a mattress in a box, DreamCloud includes a QR code to scan for instructions. I found set up easy and was able to unravel most of the plastic by hand, using a cutter to slice the packaging to let the mattress expand.
There was little off-gassing — the chemical smell that often accompanies boxed mattresses upon unpacking — but not enough to require cracking open a window. Good news, since we were in the middle of a heatwave.
One reason why a vacuum-wrapped mattress may emit off-gassing is that it's been boxed up for a long time. According to the tag on my test mattress, it was manufactured in June 2025, the same month it arrived at my home.
(Keep in mind, the DreamCloud Classic is still a relatively new model. For older boxed mattress models, there's a higher chance you'll receive stock that's been sitting in a warehouse for several months.)
My DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress felt stable enough to sleep on that night. According to DreamCloud, it could take up to 72 hours for the mattress to expand, noting airflow and temperature may impact the process.
I recently reviewed the Siena Premier Hybrid Mattress, a 12" combo of foam and springs that I found supportive enough for back and front sleeping but not as contouring as I would have liked for side sleeping.

As someone who's tested DreamCloud's previous entry-level hybrid, one of our favorite hybrid mattresses for all sleep styles, I was expecting a firmer bed feel but my first impression of the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam was that it felt cushy, albeit supportive. I rate it a 6.5 out of 10 on the mattress firmness scale.
Interestingly, DreamCloud — which previously marketed all its mattresses as a "just right" medium-firm — recently updated the product page for the Classic Memory Foam Mattress and now calls it extra firm, claiming ample support with minimal give.
Of course, firmness is subjective but I think DreamCloud had it right the first time.
After my first night on the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress I was optimistic it might give me the balance of contouring and support I'd felt was missing from the similarly priced Siena Premier.
Unfortunately, as the week went on, I had to readjust my expectations — and not for the better.
Mid-week, I found if I spent the night lying on my side I'd wake up with a sore lower back. I'd settle into bed just fine but my hips would gradually sink too low during the night, causing uncomfortable misalignment across my spine.
For context, I normally sleep on the Cloverlane Hybrid Mattress, a 15" hybrid with dedicated lumbar support. As someone with a history of back pain who also carries most of my weight in my mid-section, I was truly missing those extra support features.
It's not all bad, though. One afternoon I had a quick nap while lying on my back. I don't normally sleep that way but on the Classic Memory Foam, the even weight distribution made it much more comfortable.
But I enjoy side sleeping too much to give it up entirely. This is still early in the testing process, however, so maybe with further use the DreamCloud will come closer to the feel I expect from the best mattresses for side sleepers.
Meanwhile, the CloudQuilt cover, woven with cooling fibers, doesn't feel much different than the previous cashmere-blend cover (which was mostly polyester anyway.) Despite the lack of a cool-to-the-touch sensation, I didn't overheat at all during the first week. A major win considering even the best memory foam mattresses can trap heat.
The even weight distribution made [back sleeping] more comfortable
The edge support is average, which isn't unusual for an all-foam mattress. I sink when I sit on the sides but I never worry I'm going to fall off the bed. The edges also feel sturdy enough when I lean over to grab something from the floor.
Since I sleep solo on a small bed, I'll be sharing the results of my objective motion isolation drop tests in my complete review — but given the hybrid DreamCloud's ability to dampen movement and the fact that this is an all-foam mattress, I'm optimistic it'll perform well in this area.
As a side sleeper with back pain who had a positive experience sleeping on the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid Mattress, I'm disappointed with the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress... so far.
I appreciate that it's not super firm, despite DreamCloud's suggested firmness rating, but the resulting lower back pain isn't a good trade-off. I'm hoping as I break the mattress in, I'll enjoy more even weight distribution.

But that's not a critique of its quality. The DreamCloud looks and feels like a premium mattress and the design changes only elevate its luxury aesthetic. (That said, I miss the side handles when I'm trying to change the sheets.)
I'm also glad that I haven't woken up in a sweat, especially during another brutal Mid-Atlantic summer. Is the CloudQuilt Cover pulling its weight here? Perhaps. But I'd still recommend a proper cooling mattress for sleepers who deal with severe overheating.
Unfortunately, right now the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress isn't providing me with the support I need to rest comfortably on my side, as my hips sink too low.
On the other hand, I enjoy this mattress for back sleeping. But as it's not the sleep position I choose for preference, I'm unsure if the DreamCloud will be right for me in the long-term.
So I'll also be collecting feedback from a panel of testers with diverse sleep needs and body types to see how they fare. And I'm not writing this mattress off yet, as I'm giving myself a whole month to adjust.

The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid's design varies slightly, depending on which firmness version you've chosen. The soft and medium mattresses start with a 1.5' quilted cover designed to help wick away moisture, followed by a 1.5' layer of responsive comfort foam to adjust to your sleeping position. A 1' layer of transition foam sits on top of the individually wrapped coil layer for contouring and motion isolation, and the mattress is finished off with a foam base for durability and longevity. The firm mattress has a slightly thinner quilted cover at 0.75', followed by 1' of the responsive comfort foam. The DreamCloud Classic is the newest version of the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid and has undergone a few small design changes. Adaptive response foam for spinal alignment sits on top of the layer of individually wrapped coils for support and reducing motion transfer, with a thin layer of dense foam underneath to stabilize the mattress. Finally, a protective bottom cover keeps the mattress in place and helps with longevity. In our Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid mattress review, our tester slept on the firm bed along with the optional pillow top. But our Sleep Editor has also tried out the medium firmness without the pillow top. Either way, you won't sink into the surface of the Signature Hybrid but, like the best pillow top mattresses, the optional pillow top does add a little softness. The choice of three firmness options means the mattress will suit a variety of sleepers – the soft is best suited to side sleepers, while the medium will suit side and back sleepers. The firm is best suited to back and stomach sleepers or those of a larger build. That said, the inclusion of a pillow top will soften the firmness up a little, but this is still a bed for those who prefer a bouncy and supportive feel. Motion isolation is also excellent, but edge support is a bit average in the corners and at the foot of the bed. However, the mattress is still fundamentally the same and we expect the feel to be similar. We rate the DreamCloud as one of the best mattresses for back pain, with its fantastic ability to adapt quickly to the lumbar region and soothe away aches and pains. The DreamCloud is a great all-rounder, but our side sleepers did find it took a while for the mattress to mold to their bodies. While very lightweight side sleepers may find it too firm overall, that firmer support does make it one of the best mattresses for stomach sleepers. Motion isolation and edge support are great and those sharing a bed with a restless partner should definitely put this mattress on their shortlist. Hybrid mattresses are generally more breathable than all-foam so the expectation was that both these mattresses would provide good temperature regulation. However, our tester found that the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid slept hot – so much so that they woke up in the night feeling uncomfortable. This was particularly surprising as the cooling pillow top contains GlacioTex – usually found in some of the best cooling mattresses due to its abilities to keep sleepers cool. Hot sleepers will be better served on the DreamCloud Classic. Although the design has changed slightly, the mattress contains cooling fibers built into a cover that's extremely breathable. The additional of well-spaced coils means this mattress will be a better option if you do sleep hot. ✅ You want a range of customization options: Available in soft, medium and firm firmness options, you can also choose whether or not to add in a pillow top for added softness. ✅ You need an unusual size: With 14 sizes to choose from, including a range of RV mattress sizes, the Signature Hybrid will fit any unusual space. ✅ You want to lie on top of the mattress: If the idea of the 'hug' of memory foam brings you out in a rash, the firmer and bouncier feel of the Signature Hybrid could be your perfect blend. ✅ You sleep on your back: Although it's comfortable for all sleeping positions, back sleepers in particular should find the DreamCloud extremely supportive around the lumbar region. ✅ You experience with aches and pains: The DreamCloud is one of the mattresses we recommend to those with back pain, thanks to its soothing lumbar support. ✅ You sleep hot: Although it's not a cooling mattress the DreamCloud is incredibly breathable and offers great temperature regulation.

Senior mattress and sleep editor Bridget Chapman says it's the firmest bed she's tested and that it 'offers exceptional back support and promotes neutral spinal alignment.' It's also flippable and has two firmness levels for versatility. More Deal Information: Plank offered 30% off sitewide for July 4, so this offer is slightly less impressive than the one we saw earlier this month. If you're seeking a comfortable and budget-friendly design, our sleep editors recommend the Bear Original. It has offered $600 in the past, but this is typically the best price we see from the brand. The Leesa Original offers features that are helpful for couples, like excellent motion isolation and good edge support. These qualities help prevent disturbances throughout the night and make the bed feel more expansive. The medium feel of this bed also accommodates a variety of sleep styles. More Deal Information: Leesa offered 30% off select beds over July 4th, but this discount matches the best offer we saw over Memorial Day weekend. The Helix Midnight Luxe is at the top of our list for the best mattresses of 2025. Our sleep editors say that it's great for side and combination sleepers who prefer a bed with a medium feel. 'If you're against memory foam mattresses but want a more plush feel, I think the Helix Midnight Luxe will be especially appealing for you,' Dillon explains. More Deal Information: This mattress was $1,733 over Memorial Day. Since then, Helix has slightly increased the original price of the mattress, but this matches the best price we've seen since the increase. If you suffer from joint or back pain, this DreamCloud mattress is an excellent option. It's firm enough to offer plenty of support but has a plush top for a little extra comfort. "It has a very luxurious, plush feel that's slightly softer than the other two DreamCloud models,' says Chapman. More Deal Information: This mattress fell to a low of $1,299 over Memorial Day weekend, but this is the lowest price we've seen since the May sale. This hybrid model from Brooklyn Bedding delivers excellent temperature regulation and accommodates just about any sleeping style.
