
RCMP search for Manitoba man who escaped police custody with accomplice's help
Roberto Easter, 30, was arrested at a home in Chemawawin Cree Nation around 3:30 p.m., RCMP said, for breaching conditions of a release order.
He was handcuffed and put in the back of a police vehicle, but before he could be taken to the local RCMP detachment, police said a woman helped him escape, and Easter took off into the dense brush.

The woman, 28, knows Easter, police said. She was arrested and charged with uttering threats, escaping lawful custody, and resisting or obstructing a police officer.
With the help of police dogs, drones and other resources, RCMP continue to search for the escapee.

Mounties looking for driver who beat another with baseball bat in northern Alberta
Mounties are searching for a man who beat another driver with a baseball bat in a fit of road rage near Westlock last month. According to police, they received reports of two men getting into a fight at around 9:30 a.m. on June 10 near Highway 18 and Range Road 261. Witnesses said the driver of a blue Kia sedan threatened and used a baseball bat to assault the driver of a red Volkswagen Jetta. The Jetta's driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Westlock RCMP are asking for the public's help finding the owner or driver of the blue Kia sedan.
