11 Fresh Ways To Wear White Nails This Summer

Refinery2913-06-2025
Summer is finally here and with it comes an inevitable surge of nail inspiration flooding our feeds. From pretty princess nails to playful beach manicures, there's an abundance of fresh trends emerging already, but there's always one shade that reappears every summer without fail: white. Timeless, clean and effortlessly cool, white nails are synonymous with summer and always look impeccable. This season, though, there's a twist: White nails are enjoying a soft-focus upgrade.
Say goodbye to the stark, bright whites of the past; this summer's take is more about milky, sheer and chiffon-inspired whites. Think creamy undertones, hints of pink and nude and cloudy textures. The result is modern, elevated and made for sunshine season.

Rihanna Just Took Us to Fashion Church In an Angelic, All-White Maternity Look

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Although she might disapprove, the fashion world would be a better place if Rihanna was pregnant all the time. While carrying her third child, the Fenty Beauty mogul and pop superstar has taken her maternity style to impossibly great heights, proving that a baby bump cannot stop her from sporting custom couture or fresh-off-the-runway fits. I would go so far as to say that her fashion has never been better. Case in point: RiRi's latest ensemble, which transformed her into an angelic Madonna as she exited one of her favorite dining spots, Giorgio Baldi, in Los Angeles on Sunday night. For the dinner, Rihanna chose a sculptural, low-slung skirt from the Alaïa Fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection, which tapered inward as it traveled down her legs, all originating from a molded, hoop-like waist. To match the skirt, the mother-of-two added a hooded, cropped tank and pointy pumps, both in white, while accessorizing with large diamond earrings and black sunglasses to top it all off. It certainly wasn't your average dinner ensemble. The stylish meal took place mere hours after the Savage X Fenty founder walked the red carpet for her new Smurfs movie with sons RZA and Riot in tow. For the premiere, RiRi chose a chocolate ball gown from Saint Laurent, which she accessorized with a sage-green sash tied into a bow around her waist, as well as a brown, distressed-leather jacket. Meanwhile, her kids were dressed in custom Dior looks inspired by Jonathan Anderson's debut menswear collection for the French luxury house. Throughout her three pregnancies, Rihanna has turned to both Alaïa and Saint Laurent—as well as other major designer brands—in order to turn out one show-stopping look after the other, be it a red-hot Super Bowl set or a knotty, sky-blue gown for the Cannes Film Festival. Clearly, her work is not finished yet. You Might Also Like 4 Investment-Worthy Skincare Finds From Sephora The 17 Best Retinol Creams Worth Adding to Your Skin Care Routine

Ellen DeGeneres Sends Rosie O'Donnell Unexpected 4-Word Message After Trump's Citizenship Threat

Ellen DeGeneres didn't let her history with fellow comedian Rosie O'Donnell affect her response after President Donald Trump 's shocking threat to take away O'Donnell's citizenship. The president reignited his long-running feud with O'Donnell over the weekend, calling her a 'threat to humanity' in a post on Truth Social. 'Because of the fact that Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,' Trump wrote. 'She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!' O'Donnell responded to Trump in two separate Instagram posts, calling him a ' criminal con man ' who 'lacks empathy compassion and basic humanity.' 'You call me a threat to humanity – but I'm everything you fear,' O'Donnell wrote in a different post. 'A loud woman a queer woman a mother who tells the truth an american who got out of the country b4 u set it ablaze you build walls – I build a life for my autistic kid in a country where decency still exists.' While O'Donnell's fellow comedians and fans showed their support in the comments, DeGeneres' post, in particular, stood out. The comedian screenshotted Trump's post and O'Donnell's response, captioning her Instagram post, 'Good for you @rosie.' O'Donnell and DeGeneres have reportedly had a frosty relationship over the years, as DeGeneres once told Larry King back in 2004 that ' we're not really friends.' O'Donnell previously shared that the two had a good relationship prior to becoming famous, but later developed a bit of 'weirdness.' 'It became a strange, 'There can't be two lesbians in this town' kind of a thing,' O'Donnell told The Hollywood Reporter in 2023. 'Then we each had success and went separate ways.' In an interesting twist, both O'Donnell and DeGeneres moved abroad shortly after Trump was sworn in for his second term. O'Donnell lives in Dublin, Ireland, while DeGeneres settled in the Cotswolds in England. O'Donnell reacted to DeGeneres' move in an interview with US Weekly and said she was 'surprised to read that she left because of President Trump.' 'We're not really in each other's worlds, and it's been kind of awkward but you know what? I wish her the best,' O'Donnell said in the interview, published in April. 'I wish that she has peace and love in her life and that she is OK.'

Ingrid Andress update: What happened after drunk 2024 HR Derby national anthem

The Home Run Derby is tonight, which means it's time to reflect on past derbies and the moments we remember most. And when it comes to last year's contest, not many things stand out more than the scene before the derby even started -- when Ingrid Andress sung one of the worst renditions of the national anthem we can remember. The 33-year-old country singer's off-key version of the anthem had fans comparing her to Fergie, something she later apologized for, saying she was drunk and was going to check herself into a facility for help. Thankfully, Andress seems to be doing a lot better now. In February, she redeemed herself by singing the national anthem at a Colorado Rockies game (the Instagram post of that moment was her first social media activity since the apology). She released a song called Footprints in March. And last month, she gave Glamour a first-person account of what happened in the lead-up to the derby and the immediate aftermath. INGRID ANDRESS: 4 facts about the country star "I'm very open about going to rehab, because I think it's a privilege to be able to go. Sometimes there's such a taboo about it, like 'Oh, that person's broken,' but it felt like an emotional hospital for processing emotions and doing trauma work, and learning to care about how you feel again and what your coping mechanisms are. It was a bit of a relief too—I wasn't allowed to have my phone, which was helpful because I basically went straight from the anthem to rehab." And there you have it. Everything seems to be about music again for the four-time Grammy nominee.
