Raptors F Brandon Ingram (ankle) cleared for contact
Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram has been cleared for contract as he works his way back from an ankle injury.
'He's pain-free, he's moving well, he got stronger,' Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic told TSN on Thursday. 'He's in a really, really great spot.'
The 27-year-old former All-Star is expected to take part in upcoming team scrimmages, per TSN.
Ingram has been completing individual workouts and training with the Raptors while rehabilitating the injury that ended his season on Dec. 7, when he was still a member of the New Orleans Pelicans.
Ingram joined the Raptors in a February trade that sent Bruce Brown and Kelly Olynyk to the Pelicans. Days after the trade, Ingram agreed to a three-year, $120 million extension with the Raptors, a deal that reportedly includes a player option in 2027-28.
He has not played a game for the Raptors. He was officially shut down for the season on April 9 after receiving a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection to help his recovery.
An All-Star in 2019-20, Ingram averaged 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 18 games in 2024-25. He owns career clips of 19.5 points, 5.2 boards and 4.3 assists in 495 games (456 starts) for the Los Angeles Lakers (2016-19) and Pelicans. The Lakers drafted him No. 2 overall in 2016.

'He played an important role in our early history, and we respect his desire to return to FC Nordsjaelland and his decision to pursue other opportunities at this time. San Diego leads the Western Conference with 42 points and still features one of MLS' better one-two punches in All-Star forwards Anders Dreyer and Chucky Lozano. Dreyer has 11 goals and a league-best 15 assists while Lozano has six goals and eight assists. San Diego hosts Toronto FC on Wednesday.

LA Galaxy look to climb out of MLS cellar against Austin FC

The Verde have an MLS-low 15 goals in 21 league matches this year. The Galaxy's suspect defense has surrendered a league-high 43 tallies. The Verde (7-8-6, 27 points) head to Southern California after yet another anemic offensive showing, producing just four shots on goal Saturday in a scoreless draw with New England at home. Austin was able to split the points thanks to another sterling effort by All-Star goalkeeper Brad Stuver -- who stopped eight shots en route to his eighth clean sheet of the season -- but coach Nico Estevez lamented missed opportunities offensively. 'It's a game that if you play 10 times, nine you win,' Estevez said. 'I mean, you have almost two expected goals. The chances that we have is right in the goalkeeper. It is what it is, you know. We are unlucky.' The Galaxy have been playing their best soccer of the season of late, winning 2-1 on Saturday at home over D.C. United. Marco Reus and Diego Fagundez scored goals and Novak Micovic had two saves in the win. Los Angeles (3-13-6, 15 points), the defending MLS champion, has won consecutive matches for the first time this season and has captured three in a row at home. ATLANTA (AP) — Major League Baseball honored late Hall of Famer Hank Aaron by recreating his record-breaking 715th home run through the use of projection mapping and pyrotechnics. The lights went down at Truist Park and fans stood holding their cell phone lights following the sixth inning of Tuesday night's All-Star Game. The scene from April 8, 1974 at old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium was projected on the infield and also shown on the video board. The high-tech images of Aaron and other players were seen on the Truist Park infield before a blaze of a fireball launched from home plate to signify the homer that pushed Aaron past Babe Ruth's record of 714 homers. Aaron's widow, Billye Aaron, stood and waved as the cheers from the sellout crowd of 41,702 grew louder.
