Andhra Pradesh: Over 7k medical staff transferred to new positions in first phase of transfers
Of these, around 5,200 employees were compulsorily transferred after completing five years of service in their existing posts, while another 1,899 were moved based on personal requests submitted by the employees. The State government is now preparing for the second phase of transfers, which will cover 9,650 Grade-3 Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) working at the village level.
These transfers are scheduled to be completed by June 30, as they require coordination with the village and ward secretariat departments to ensure its smooth implementation.
Health Minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav expressed satisfaction over the transparent and dispute-free execution of the transfers of the employees. He appreciated the efforts of department officials and said the process was conducted strictly in accordance with established rules and guidelines, unlike previous years when transfer exercises were surrounded by controversy and allegations of irregularities.

Tirupati: Health minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav said the state government sanctioned Rs 194 crore for the construction of 100 new primary health centres (PHCs), to be taken up under the supervision of the roads and buildings (R&B) department. Along with government whip and GD Nellore MLA V M Thomas, the minister inaugurated a new village health clinic (VHC) building at Edigapalli, built at a cost of Rs 20.80 lakh under Alathur gram panchayat. Speaking on the occasion, the minister highlighted that the concept of village health clinics (VHCs) was launched in 2017 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to deliver doorstep healthcare services. With support from the central government, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan are currently implementing the programme successfully across the state. Each VHC is staffed with Community Health Officers (CHOs), ANMs, and ASHA workers, who conduct door-to-door health checks, referring patients to higher centres when needed. These clinics offer 14 types of diagnostic tests and provide 105 varieties of essential medicines. The minister also highlighted the NCD 3.0 survey aimed at early detection of hypertension, diabetes, cardiac issues, and cancer in people above 18 years. Under the STEMI initiative, emergency cardiac patients receive a life-saving injection worth Rs 45,000 free of cost. So far, over 3,918 lives have been saved from among 3,200 emergency heart cases. He criticised the previous government for misallocating funds meant for 10,032 approved VHCs and establishing only 3,000 clinics. Officials including DM&HO Dr D T Sudha Rani and CHOs Reshmi, Rajeswari, and Gouri were present.

₹194 crore sanctioned for construction of 100 PHCs across State: A.P. Health Minister
As part of strengthening the rural healthcare and infrastructure, the State government has sanctioned ₹194 crore for the construction of 100 new primary health centres (PHCs) across Andhra Pradesh. The move will be grounded under the supervision of the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department, said Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav on Monday. Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a newly constructed village health clinic (VHC) in Edigapalli village of Karveti Nagaram mandal in Gangadhara Nellore Assembly constituency, the Minister highlighted that the concept of VHCs were part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 2017 vision to create accessible medical care at the grassroots level. These clinics would be established with financial assistance from the 15th Finance Commission and would be developed to offer diagnostic and treatment services close to people's homes. Each VHC will be provided with Community Health Officers, Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs). The VHCs would also benefit the rural people with 14 essential diagnostic tests and 105 varieties of free medicines. The Minister stated that under the Non-Communicable Diseases 3.0 (NCD 3.0) survey, the target group aged 18 years and above are being screened for conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiac ailments, and cancer. This would allow early intervention and timely treatment, he added. Mr. Yadav highlighted the success of the ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) initiative, and said that life-saving cardiac injections worth ₹45,000 are being supplied free of cost during emergencies. This initiative has directly helped to save 3,918 lives out of 3,200 patients admitted with serious heart-related complications. Mr. Yadav said that the Central government had okayed 10,032 VHCs for A.P., with funds earmarked from the 14th and 15th Finance Commissions. Alleging misuse of funds meant for the health infrastructure during previous the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy regime, the Minister said that the gross neglect of the sector led to the construction of only 3,000 clinics instead of the targeted number. Senior officials of the Medical and Health Department, Panchayat Raj and R&B, and leaders of the coalition parties from all over Chittoor and Tirupati districts took part in the event.

Collector conducts surprise inspection of PHC in Srisailam
Srisailam: District Collector G Raja Kumari emphasized the need for doctors to remain accessible to patients and provide them with quality healthcare services. On Sunday, she conducted a surprise inspection of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) and Community Health Centres (CHCs) in Srisailam, assessing the functioning and infrastructure of these medical facilities. During her visit, she stated that the State government is giving high priority to public healthcare, allocating significant funds to support the medical needs of the underprivileged. She urged doctors at government hospitals to approach their duties with empathy and ensure the poor, who often cannot afford private treatment, receive timely and effective care. She directed healthcare personnel to improve maternal care services and increase institutional deliveries at PHCs. She stressed the importance of ensuring that essential medicines are always available to patients and instructed staff to maintain cleanliness in and around hospital premises. As part of the inspection, she reviewed data on the number of deliveries conducted monthly, daily patient visits, availability of doctors and staff, and the presence of essential medical equipment in all wards. She personally interacted with medical staff and patients to understand existing challenges and encouraged the team to work diligently to enhance the hospital's reputation and service quality.
