Exclusive - The Kapil Sharma Show fame Samriddhi Mehra of twins sisters Chinki Minki on their separation post: We are not having any sibling breakup or divorce, it was for Chhoriyan Chali Gaon

Time of India16 hours ago
Twin sisters Surabhi and Samriddhi Mehra, popularly known as Chinki Minki from
The Kapil Sharma Show
, left fans stunned last week when they announced their decision to part ways through a social media post.
The news of their separation left many of their fans heartbroken and caught many eyeballs.
However, the duo has now clarified that they are not having any sibling breakup or divorce and everything was just for the promotion of their new reality show, Chhoriyan Chali Gaon.
Clarifying the post,
Samriddhi Mehra
of Chinki Minki, explained, "We did not expect such a reaction on the post. We both didn't expect it and we were overwhelmed by the response.
Humne socha chalo dekhte hain kya response aata hai. Honestly, it was not in our hands we were asked to post and we did it. The post was purely for the show as we are going as separate contestants in Chhoriyan Chali Gaon. For the first time we will be seen as individuals. We are going together on the show but as individuals to play our own game, so the post was all about that.
Chinki-Minki will be seen working together even after the show, we are not having any sibling breakup or divorce.

We got so many calls, messages that 'oh my god you guys are getting separated', but it was all confidential so we couldn't clarify it to anyone. But now as the promos are out for the show, everyone will understand it was just for the show."
Samriddhi revealed that after their announcement, they received numerous calls and messages from concerned people asking about their separation. Some even drew comparisons to the rumored fallout between
Neha Kakkar
and Sonu Kakkar.
She said, "I would say sibling breakup can happen between normal siblings but that bond that twin sisters share is very different and nobody can beat their telepathy. I would say nobody can beat Chinki Minki or separate them and it can never happen in future also. Na koi Kar paaya hai na koi kar paayega. We have come together in this world and we will go everywhere together. I know a lot of people compared our post with Neha Kakkar and her sister's breakup, but I would say our fields are different.
Ours was just a promotional post and we did not know it would go out of hand in such a way and people would feel bad. For us also it was a bit heartbreaking and we also felt Arre ye kya hogaya, logon ne itna zyaada soch liye ke we won't work together anymore. We were not able to express it back then but now I'm very happy to disclose that it was just for Chhoriyan Chali Gaon."
Earlier on July 3, Chinki-Minki took to their social media account on July 3, 2025 and shared a joint post on their official Instagram handle. In the post they revealed that they have chosen to part ways and would now focus on exploring life individually.

When asked about the challenges, Rameet shared, 'I don't think exploring a rural life will be too tough. I really enjoy Indian food when I get the chance to eat it—but I don't know how to cook yet. So, I'll learn everything there. The food will be fresh, and that's exciting.' 'We live in cities where everything moves so fast—constant noise, pollution, chaos. But in the village, I expect peace. And the most important thing for me is being able to connect and talk to the villagers. That human connection is what I'm really looking forward to.' Revealing what made her say yes to the reality show, the singer mentioned, 'Actually, this is my very first reality show. And Zeek is such a big name, so honestly, I couldn't say no. The concept itself is so unique. I was born in the UK and currently live in Dubai—and now I'm heading to a village! That's a major shift, a complete challenge for me. And I really enjoy taking on challenges in life.' Rameet Sandhu also shared her thoughts on embracing a completely new lifestyle. Coming from the UK, she revealed that she's put in a lot of effort to adjust to rural life, even going the extra mile to learn Hindi. 'I'm heading into village life now,' she said, adding that all she needs is the audience's love and support as she takes on this new challenge. 'Chhoriyan Chali Gaon,' an upcoming rural adventure reality show, is produced by Banijay Asia in collaboration with Zee TV. The show is inspired by the hit Zee Marathi series 'Jau Bai Gaavat.' The format will feature urban contestants stepping away from their usual comforts to take on the everyday challenges of village life.
