A ticket bought at a Broward Publix shared a Florida Lottery jackpot
Neither of the jackpots were in the Powerball or Florida Lotto games, which will have top prizes at $288 million and $17.85 million, respectively, for Saturday's drawings.
MORE: Tickets from Miami-Dade and a South Florida Publix split lottery jackpot
A player at an Avon Park gas station took the Fantasy 5 midday drawing and, winning $52,979, was the rare midday draw jackpot winner to win more than an evening draw jackpot winner. Not just more, but far more than twice as much as an evening draw winning ticket.
That's because Wednesday's evening draw numbers — 2, 10, 18, 19, 20 — were on five tickets. In addition to the Coconut Creek Publix at 4849 Coconut Creek Pkwy., there were tickets from a Brandon 7-Eleven at 1020 S. Kings Ave.; Tampa Deli & Grocery at 1811 E. 23rd Ave.; a Palmetto 7-Eleven, 208 U.S. Hwy. 41; and Love's Travel Stop, 1025 State Rd. 206 West, in St. Augustine.
Each ticket won $22,777.
These tickets must be cashed at the Florida Lottery main office in Tallahassee or one of the district offices, which are open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments can be made, but aren't required.
That Coconut Creek Publix is almost midway between the district offices in Miami Lakes and Palm Springs. The Miami Lakes office is at 14621 Oak Ln., and can be reached at 305-364-3080 and MIARC@flalottery.com. The Palm Springs office is at 4360 Forest Hill Blvd., and can be reached at 561-640-6190 or WPBRC@flalottery.com.

Anti-DEI ETF Issuer Floated for New Fed Governor
An ardent supporter of President Donald Trump, whose firm last month launched an anti-DEI exchange-traded fund, said he has had a "constructive conversation with the President's team" about his candidacy to replace outgoing Fed Governor Adriana Kugler. James Fishback, 30, head of Miami-based Azoria Capital, said in a phone interview that he arrived in Washington D.C., today following his conversation with the team. His comments follow reports from Florida's Voice that his candidacy for a seat on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors is gaining support. The posts didn't disclose sources for the information. Invest in Gold American Hartford Gold: #1 Precious Metals Dealer in the Nation Priority Gold: Up to $15k in Free Silver + Zero Account Fees on Qualifying Purchase Thor Metals Group: Best Overall Gold IRA "I'm steeped in markets," Fishback said, adding that he spent a decade trading interest rate derivatives at a hedge fund. Fishback, who unsuccessfully sued Federal Reserve Chair Jay Powell to open closed Fed meetings to the public, wrote in an X post Tuesday that the Fed must lower rates by at least one full point at its next meeting in mid-September, cutting them to 3.5% from 4.5%. SPXM Trails VOO Early On Fishback's firm last month launched the Azoria 500 Meritocracy ETF (SPXM), which invests in 400 to 500 U.S. large-cap companies that do not hold diversity, equity and inclusion hiring targets, according to its fund page. The fund has gained 1% since its July 8 launch, trailing the 1.7% gain in the S&P 500, as measured by the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO). SPXM has pulled in $28.2 million in net inflows since it launched. Its top three holdings include Nvidia Corp. (NVDA), Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) and Apple Inc. (AAPL), and it holds a 4% allocation to the First American Funds Inc. X Government Obligations Fund. 'James has said that, if he is asked by President Trump, he would be honored to serve the president and the nation on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors,' Azoria's Chief Operating Officer Kabir Singh Bawa wrote in an email. 'We're grateful for his leadership at Azoria and, if given the opportunity, are confident he would serve Americans well at the Fed.' 'A New Era' A Fishback appointment would deepen ties between the Trump administration and the $11.8 trillion U.S. ETF industry. The president's media company, Trump Media and Technology Group Corp. (DJT), is aiming to list the Trump Social Bitcoin ETF and has filed trademark applications for three ETFs under its brand. The firm founded by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Key Square Group, had sought to launch an exchange-traded fund, and former DOGE official Vivek Ramaswamy's Strive Asset Management runs a handful of ETFs, including the anti-ESG Strive U.S. Energy ETF (DRLL). "There's nothing wise about Jerome Powell keeping rates at the same level today—when inflation is 1.8%—as they were in December 2022, when inflation was 6.5%," Fishback wrote in his tweet. A U.S. District Court judge has rejected Fishback's lawsuit to open to the public meetings on setting interest rates. Bloomberg's Eric Balchunas wrote on X that Fishback would be the first ETF issuer on the Federal Reserve board. 'It's a new era that's for sure,' he wrote. Elon, Inc: Elon Gets $30 Billion to Stick Around
It was an expensive week for Tesla. On Friday, a jury in Miami found the electric car company 33% to blame for a deadly 2019 crash involving its full self-driving feature, ordering it to pay a total of $242.5 million in damages. A few days later, the company's board said it would dole out a $30 billion stock payoff to co-founder Elon Musk in order to keep him focused on the company, which has been bouncing from crisis to crisis. In this episode of Elon, Inc., host David Papadopoulos is joined by Bloomberg Elon Musk reporter Dana Hull, Bloomberg Businessweek's Max Chafkin as well as Missy Cummings, an academic and former senior adviser for safety at the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration who was called as an expert witness during the trial. Together, they discuss the possible consequences for the company flowing from the verdict, with Cummings warning it's yet another roadblock for fully self-driving cars. Papadopoulos, Hull and Chafkin also discuss that monster payout to Musk. Later, Papadopoulos, Chafkin and Bloomberg News reporter Kiel Porter discuss Porter's latest story on The Boring Company, Musk's largely stalled endeavor to build underground 'hyperloops.' Although the tunnel-digging venture recently scored a contract to build a loop connecting Nashville's airport with its downtown, Porter's paints a picture of a struggling company that—in true Muskian fashion—promises more than it can deliver. And the challenges are mounting. All the company has to show for its labors is a small loop that takes people to and from the Las Vegas Convention Center. When asked by Papadopoulos about the company's falling valuation—now hovering at around $6.4 billion, down from a high of $8.6 billion in July 2023—Porter is direct. 'They were supposed to have 68 miles dug in Vegas. It was supposed to be this huge interconnected lattice, and instead you got less than four operational miles,' he says. 'It doesn't take a genius to look at that and go, 'why am I investing in this?''
