Madbouly reviews legalisation of newly annexed lands to new cities, housing offerings

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a meeting on Monday at the government headquarters in New Alamein City to follow up on the legalisation of land recently annexed to several new cities, alongside updates on housing and land offerings and other ongoing projects.
The meeting was attended by Sherif El Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities; Walid Abbas, First Deputy Chairperson of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA); and Amin Ghoneim, NUCA Deputy Chairperson for Urban Development and City Upgrading.
At the start of the meeting, Madbouly stressed the importance of completing the legalisation process to protect state resources and regularise residents' status in these areas, thus ensuring legal and social stability. This, he noted, is critical for building integrated, well-planned urban communities. He also emphasised delivering legalised plots in a phased manner to maintain steady development.
The Minister of Housing confirmed that the legalisation process is progressing steadily, with submitted applications under review and finalisation underway for cases that have completed the required procedures. El Sherbiny highlighted ongoing efforts to expedite the legalisation of land status for individuals and entities in newly added areas, aiming to speed up urban development and meet future housing needs.
He also reviewed the Ministry's broader efforts to implement national projects that provide adequate housing units, strengthen infrastructure, and improve public services in new cities. These initiatives, he said, are aligned with the goals of the 'New Republic' and the political leadership's vision to enhance housing and urban development nationwide.
El Sherbiny presented an update on current offerings covering housing units and land plots designed for different social segments. He explained that a diverse range of projects are being introduced under the presidential initiative 'Housing for All Egyptians.' This includes fully subsidised units for low-income groups under the Social Housing Programme, as well as units for middle-income groups offered with facilitated payment plans. Higher-income groups, meanwhile, can purchase units at market rates, with the revenue used to subsidise housing for lower-income citizens — a model aimed at promoting social justice.
The Minister also reviewed projects targeting land located along key roads and highways, including ongoing works along the 26th of July Corridor. These works cover the expansion of the existing road beneath the monorail, stretching from the intersection with the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road to the intersection with the Wahat Road, spanning parts of 6th of October and Sheikh Zayed cities.

Egyptians began heading to the polls nationwide on Monday and through Tuesday to vote for their Senate representatives from a field of 428 candidates. President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi also voted on Monday morning in a Cairo district, according to a statement published on the presidential spokesman's official Facebook page. Likewise, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly cast his vote, according to a cabinet statement. From 9am to 9pm, eligible voters will head to cast their ballots at 8,286 polling stations across all governorates of Egypt, the National Elections Authority (NEA) stated. The number of eligible voters in Egypt is 68 million, it added. The electoral process is being monitored by 9,500 judges from the State Lawsuits Authority and the Administrative Prosecution Authority, ensuring oversight at subcommittees nationwide. Significantly, 2,500 of these judges are women — a notable step forward for female participation in judicial supervision of elections. Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:

Egypt Officially Raises Public Sector Minimum Wages

Taarek Refaat Egypt's Official Gazette has published Decree, signed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, introducing amendments to the public sector minimum wage framework effective July 1, 2025. The decree updates key provisions of the 2019 wage legislation to reflect new wage thresholds for government employees and workers at public economic authorities. The move comes amid broader economic reforms and cost-of-living concerns, with the government seeking to bolster real incomes across all employment grades in the public sector. New Minimum Monthly Wage: Exceptional 13,500 High 11,250 General Manager 10,250 First Grade 8,500 Second Grade 8,000 Third Grade 7,750 Fourth Grade 7,000 Fifth Grade 7,250 Sixth Grade 7,000 The decree also introduces an updated mechanism for a "complementary wage incentive", ensuring that any employee whose total income falls below the minimum wage threshold for their grade will receive a top-up. The calculation will exclude certain special allowances such as remote-area bonuses, risk allowances, or non-cash benefits, while regular bonuses and collective financial advantages will be averaged into the monthly wage for assessment. This incentive system aims to harmonize wage fairness across ministries and public entities while maintaining eligibility conditions aligned with the Civil Service Law and other relevant public finance legislation. The amendments were adopted following Cabinet approval and a comprehensive legal review, as referenced in the decree's legal preamble, which cites Egypt's Unified Public Finance Law and recent Law, which governs public sector bonuses and incentives. The Egyptian government has incrementally raised the minimum wage in recent years as inflationary pressures and currency fluctuations have affected purchasing power. The current adjustment follows multiple prior increases, with the most recent benchmark set in 2024 at EGP 10,000 for many categories. As of July 20, 2025, more than 3.5 million public sector employees are expected to benefit from the new wage structure, including those in administrative bodies, service agencies, and economic authorities. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

Nada Mustafa Prime Minister (PM) Dr. Mostafa Madbouly stated that Egypt has faced significant economic challenges in recent years due to regional and international crises. However, he added, the country has managed to overcome many of these difficulties, achieving positive GDP growth, a decline in both inflation and unemployment rates, and continued implementation of economic reforms. He also emphasized Egypt's efforts to support the private sector and improve the investment climate. Speaking at the 'Egyptians Abroad Conference,' PM added: 'In line with the directives of the President of the Republic, the government has been keen to implement a package of social protection measures aimed at supporting the most vulnerable segments of society.' It aims to address their concerns, understand their aspirations and proposals, and encourage their involvement in national development plans and strategies. The regular convening of the conference reflects the state's commitment to maintaining strong ties and open communication with Egyptian communities around the world, while also updating them on the country's progress across various sectors. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results
