Supermassive Games is delaying Directive 8020 and laying off staff
The current size of the Supermassive's staff is unclear, but in February last year it cut somewhere in the region of 90 jobs, at which time Bloomberg estimated the studio had more than 300 employees.
"This decision was not taken lightly, and we know it will be an incredibly difficult time for everyone," the UK-based developer said in a statement published today. "Our absolute priority will be to offer full support to all those affected."

Supermassive is currently working on Little Nightmares III and the sci-fi horror adventure Directive 8020 , which is the fifth entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology. It said the layoffs will have no impact on the development of the former, which is still due out October 10. Directive 8020 has been delayed to the first half of 2026, which it says will allow it to "deliver the very best experience for our fans." The game had been scheduled to release on October 2.

EE says latest outage fixed after 'technical fault'
EE says it carried out further work overnight to fix a technical problem which left some customers unable to make or receive calls. In the last 24 hours, hundreds of people who use the mobile provider have told the BBC they have experienced service issues. It comes after thousands were left unable to make or receive calls earlier this week due to a technical issue which impacted both mobile and landline phones. On Saturday, a spokesperson for BT - which owns EE - said the network was "running as normal" after maintenance was carried out last night, but that it was "monitoring" the situation. The BBC's Your Voice, Your News continued to receive messages from readers on Saturday saying that they had experienced issues with their phone service. One 84-year-old customer said she and her husband were left unable to make "vital" daily calls to their daughter and son-in-law. "The service is still down, into our third day of no service is unacceptable," said another customer from Essex, who added that "the lack of information is deafening". "This is still an ongoing issue," reported another customer from Exeter, who said multiple offices of his estate agency business were all experiencing problems making calls. Earlier this week, EE customers reported that they were unable to make or receive calls, including to 999. BT apologised for that outage on Thursday and said that it happened "following a technical fault impacting voice services" on their network. Responding to the latest outage, EE said on Saturday: "We continue to conduct enhanced monitoring to prevent recurrence. "We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this issue has caused."

Major network provider goes down ahead of festival
A major network provider has confirmed that customers are struggling to make calls after a technical fault. EE posted on social media on Thursday, recognising that the fault was nationwide, but customers in Southwold complained of the issue ahead of the upcoming Latitude festival this weekend. The broadband network said: "Following a technical fault impacting voice services on our network earlier today, we have now resolved the problem, and the service is running as normal. "We sincerely apologise and recognise the inconvenience this may have caused." Customers continued to experience issues on Friday and still had problems making phone calls. A BT spokesperson said: "Following yesterday's technical fault, we are currently experiencing some voice call issues today. "The impact appears to be less widespread, but we are working to resolve this as soon as possible and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused." Residents in Southwold questioned whether the fault was linked to the upcoming Latitude festival.
