Couple embarrassed to be seen at Coldplay concert
As users of social media are likely already aware, Andy Byron, the CEO of Astonomer, was caught on the kisscam canoodling with his Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, at a Coldplay concert. The silver lining is that they won't have to disclose their relationship to HR as the news has rocketed across social media. Now, users must live with the reality that the CEO of one of the industry leaders in DataOp platforms powered by Apache Airflow, a man they likely once considered 'Daddy' (no relation to the Coldplay hit 'Daddy') or even 'Zaddy,' is a Coldplay fan. Usually, The A.V. Club wouldn't take such delight in public displays of schadenfreude, but what can one do when Coldplay is such a reliable source of search traffic?
Initially posted by TikTok user @instaagraace, the video features singer Chris Martin engaging in some innocent stage banter by pointing the concert cameras at the audience. Following the crowning of an overjoyed, unnamed birthday boy, Byron and Cabot can be seen gently swaying in blissful ignorance of a very near future wherein the world sees Byron performing the old 'my girlfriend's paying' routine with Cabot after what was surely a rockin' rendition of 'Viva La Vida.' Their revelry ends as Byron and Cabots' respective piercing blue eyes gaze upon the circular jumbo tron, like a magic mirror showing them an encroaching reality where their personal lives are disrupted for, let's say, the next few months. We can imagine the taunts now: 'So, Andy, see any stars lately? Do they shine for you? Are they all yellow?' Just humiliating.
'Oh, look at these two,' Martin says as the couple turns in horror. 'Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy.' Perhaps they're just a little embarrassed to be seen having such a good time. Sadly, the stink of being outed as a Coldplay fan doesn't wash out so easily.

Shannon Sharpe will not return to ESPN as a commentator on 'First Take'
Shannon Sharpe will not be returning to ESPN, according to a person with knowledge of the situation who is not authorized to publicly discuss it. The development comes weeks after the former NFL star settled a $50-million lawsuit that accused him of rape. Attorney Tony Buzbee, whose firm represented the woman who filed the civil lawsuit against Sharpe earlier this year, announced the settlement on July 18 in a statement posted on Instagram. Sharpe's legal team said at the time that Buzbee's statement should be considered the 'final word' on the matter. Terms of the settlement have not been disclosed. The sports media personality has denied the allegations. He announced days after the lawsuit was filed that he was temporarily stepping away from his duties as a commentator on ESPN's 'First Take' but would return in time for the 2025 NFL season. At that time, an ESPN spokesperson said in a statement emailed to The Times that 'this is a serious situation, and we agree with Shannon's decision to step away.' Sharpe has remained on his popular podcasts 'Club Shay Shay' and 'Nightcap.' The Athletic was the first to report that Sharpe won't be returning to ESPN. By the time the team arrived at the remote location, the barn was empty, but there was evidence (many emptied bags of fertilizer) to underscore the magnitude of the threat at hand. Blythe sent his team home to catch up on sleep ahead of an assuredly busy 48-hour shift. Meachum invited Oliveras (Jessica Camacho) to spare herself some commuting time by crashing at his place — he'll 'take the sofa' and all that — but after an exchange of looks that screamed, 'We would not wind up sleeping,' Amber declined. For one, she needs to sleep with a white noise machine (that Mark generously offered to imitate); secondly, she snarked, 'I'm not Melinda Bates' (as in Mark's ex-girlfriend) 'or her sister Rachel' (with whom he cheated on Melinda). 'So that wouldn't work.' Blythe meanwhile used the latest gathering of evidence — and some strong-armed nudges from D.C. politicians — to leverage Belarusian consul general Astapov into coughing up his file on Volcheck. Astapov agreed, and (as we all do!) had handy the location of a random alley at which he and Buh-lyyythe should meet that night. When Blythe rolled up, he found Astapov dead behind the wheel of his sedan, sporting a Colombian necktie. Blythe barely had a chance to react when he turned to find himself on the receiving end of a dagger being twisted into his side by Volchek. Spooked by passing headlights, Volchek sauntered away, while a stunned Blythe slowly slumped to the pavement, the blade sticking through his suit jacket and looking not easily extractable….
