Teen girl missing from Stonehaven has 'connections to Glasgow'
Police Scotland has issued an urgent public appeal for help in tracing 15-year-old Ava Allan, who has been reported missing from the Stonehaven area.
Ava was last seen around 1.30pm on Friday, July 4, in the small village of Kinneff, roughly 10 miles south of Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire. She has not been heard from since, sparking increasing concern for her safety and wellbeing.
She is described as being around 5ft 6in tall, of average build, with blonde hair. When last seen, Ava was wearing a grey jumper and pink trouser bottoms. Officers say she is known to have links to the Glasgow area and may have travelled there.
Police are working around the clock to trace Ava's movements and are urging anyone who may have seen her, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, to come forward. They are also appealing to Ava directly to make contact and let someone know she is safe.
Inspector Rae Christie, leading the inquiry, said: 'We are asking anyone who has seen Ava or knows where she might be to get in touch with us immediately.'

The disappearance has shocked the local community in Kinneff and surrounding areas, where residents are now sharing missing person appeals on social media in hopes of helping the investigation.
The search has now extended beyond Aberdeenshire, with officers considering the possibility that Ava may have travelled to other parts of the country, including Glasgow, where she is understood to occasionally visit.

Dozens of police units have descended on Glenmuir Place and Braeside Road in Ayr. Armed police and sniffer dogs have descended on a street in Ayr following reports of a 'stabbing'. A 35-year-old man was charged in connection with attempted murder.

Four-year-old boy dies after in cemetery after gravestone falls on top of him
The tragedy unfolded in Lancashire this afternoon. A four-year-old boy has tragically died in a cemetery after a gravestone fell onto him. Emergency crews rushed to Rawtenstall Cemetery, in Lancashire, at around 1pm today. Sadly, despite medics best efforts the youngster was pronounced dead at the scene. As the Mirror reports, police have said the boy's death is not being treated as suspicious. They are set to pass a file to the HM Coroner "in due course". A Lancashire Police spokesperson told the Lancashire Telegraph:"We were called to Rawtenstall Cemetery at 1pm today [July 5] following reports a gravestone had fallen onto a child. "Tragically, and despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the boy sadly died. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this devastating time. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed onto HM Coroner in due course." Rawtenstall Cemetery currently holds 21,000 burials across 17 acres, according to the local government website. The cemetery has a chapel which can seat around 40 people. The burial grounds cater for Catholic, Church of England, non-Conformist and Muslim funerals. The shocking news comes after two teenage boys were found dead on railway tracks with Joshua Myres named and pictured as the first teen in the double tragedy. The teens, both 16, were discovered near Poynton Station, close to Stockport, Greater Manchester. In May, Cheshire Police had issued an appeal to help trace Joshua, from Handforth, after he vanished and was believed to have made his way to Devon and Cornwall 200 miles away. The teen was found but went missing again for a day in June. Then on Thursday, Joshua and another teen were found dead near the station shortly before 10.30pm. The British Transport Police, who are leading the investigation, said their deaths are not being treated as suspicious. Railway lines were shutdown so medics could reach the teenagers, but sadly both boys were pronounced dead at the scene. Several services were affected by the closure including Avanti West Coast, Cross Country and Northern services - and trains didn't resume until around 6am on Friday. A passenger who got off a train at the station in Poyton on Friday told Manchester Evening News the double tragedy was "devastating", saying: "It's just devastating. I have teenage children myself, including a 16-year-old boy. It brings it so close to home." No further details surrounding the circumstances of what police suspect happened have been revealed. A BTP spokesperson said: "Officers were called at around 10.10pm (on July 3rd) to reports of a casualty on the tracks near Poynton railway station. "Officers attended with paramedics. Very sadly and despite the best efforts of paramedics two 16-year-old boys were both pronounced dead at the scene."

Temporary measures introduced after council hit by cyber attack
Temporary measures allowing members of the public to access some online Glasgow City Council services have been introduced as the impact of a cyber attack continues almost two weeks after the incident. The local authority is continuing to take a 'cautious approach' when dealing with cyber incident that was reported on June 19. ICT supplier CGI discovered malicious activity on servers managed by a third-party supplier. A short-term solution has now been put in place which allows residents to search Property Enquiry Certificates, and a temporary plan to allow interested parties to access the online planning portal has also been established. It will allow drawings and documents to be viewed and downloaded before any comments are submitted. Access to all applications, decisions and appeals held on the council's system are currently unavailable but officers are exploring how to make older files available and will provide a further update on this as soon as possible Earlier this week access to the Strathclyde Pension Fund portal and the FOI system was restored and the local authority says it will continue to provide a variety of temporary alternatives and workaround until it is safe to return all services. While there is still no evidence of data loss, independent experts are carrying out forensic analysis of the affected servers. Until they reach their final conclusion, the council will continue to be cautious and approach the incident with the assumption that data has been compromised. Glasgow is conducting an investigation into the incident, alongside Police Scotland, the Scottish Cyber Coordination Centre (SC3) and the National Cyber Security Centre. A spokesperson for the council said: 'We are sorry that this incident will have caused real anxiety to people who have used our online services – and frustration for those unable to access those services now. 'As part of our investigation, experts are monitoring online activity and, to date, there has been no evidence of any data being leaked or misused. 'However, until forensic examinations of the affected servers are complete – and we can be confident whether any data has been stolen – we are advising anyone who has used any of the affected forms to be particularly cautious about contact claiming to be from Glasgow City Council. 'If you are contacted by someone claiming to have your data, you should contact Police Scotland on 101.'
