Nurseries in Harrogate to host pyjama party to raise hospice funds

Yahoo10-04-2025
Five nurseries in Harrogate are hosting a pyjama party to raise money for St Michael's Hospice.
The Partou Pyjama Party, scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, will see staff and children spend the day in pyjamas, playing games, reading stories, sharing teddies, and making popcorn.
The initiative was conceived by Bambi Wainwright, nursery manager at Partou Little Dragons on East Parade.
She said: "The hospice is so close to our hearts as one of my team's mums was looked after there."
Toni, a team member at Partou Woodlands, on Wetherby Road, added: "St Michael's also means a lot to me personally after their incredible support when I unfortunately lost my father-in-law."
Samantha Rhodes, Partou managing director, said: "This is the first time that our nurseries in one town or city have come together in support of a single charitable cause."
Donations to the Partou Pyjama Party can be made via https://www.justgiving.com/page/bambi-wainwright-1

The real reason why Love Island's Harrison has 'quit', following tearful breakdown and messy love triangle

Harrison has reportedly left the Love Island villa after a tearful week with Toni and Lauren. According to an insider, the 22-year-old footballer decided to leave the show after being involved in one of the most dramatic love triangles the show has ever seen. Harrison, who is originally from Derby, but relocated to Miami for his career, is said to have left the villa late on Thursday night and is on his way home to the UK. "It's been a momentous few days for Harrison and ultimately he has decided to quit," the source told The Sun. "Everyone was so shocked and people were crying and hugging him." "He worked through everything with the ITV duty of care team and is making his way home to his family now." Harrison has been involved in a love triangle with Toni and Lauren. He was originally coupled up with Toni, but recoupled with Lauren who he met at Casa Amor. His return to the villa with the new girl caused drama between him and Toni, who coupled up with Cach, and he eventually revealed that he still has feelings for her, leading her to pick him at the next recoupling and leaving both Cach and Lauren in tears. Toni then learnt that Harrison had slept with Lauren twice and felt terrible that she'd chosen him. He apologised to Lauren and agreed to let her crack on with Ty while he and Toni progressed in their relationship, but on Thursday night, Toni broke down in tears after she saw Harrison and Lauren in the bathroom flossing one another's teeth. Through tears she told him that he was "embarrassing her" and that he should have stayed with Lauren, before telling the girls that she's so "done". And things only got worse during the game of Couple of Sorts, where Toni and Harrison learned that they had been voted for by the public for the "couple who are playing a game", "the couple who are relying on physical attraction" and "most one-sided couple". From the look on Toni's face as they stood up on the podium, it was clear to see that she had checked out of the relationship. Cosmopolitan UK has contacted ITV for a comment. New episodes of Love Island air on ITV2 on weekdays and Sundays at 9pm.

Love Island spoiler: Villa descends into chaos following controversial recoupling decision

Ok, we're going to need a minute to recover from tonight's episode of Love Island after the show aired what may be its most dramatic recoupling ever, after Toni chose to recouple with Harrison. During tonight's episode the Toni, Harrison and Lauren love triangle continued with dramatic consequences. At the start of the episode Shakira and Ty chose to save Harrison and Lauren, alongside Conor and Emma and sent Tommy and Lucy home after the public vote. Toni expressed her annoyance about Shakira saving Harrison and Lauren, however Shakira and Yasmin insisted that Toni was actually happy he was there. Then later in the episode Harrison and Lauren slept together in the communal bedroom. Toni then discovered Harrison and Lauren had been physical but didn't learn the extent of what went down. However, this was enough for her to call things off with Harrison and she went onto tell him she was "done" with the love triangle and deserved "better". The Islanders then received a text telling them there would a recoupling that evening with the girls choosing who they wanted to be in a couple with. As the Islanders were getting ready, Harrison confessed to Harry he wanted Toni to pick him at the recoupling and so Harry helped Harrison to meet Toni on the terrace. While on the terrace Harrison confessed his feelings for Toni, who was confused by his confession but ultimately didn't seem put off by it. It then came to the recoupling and when it came to Toni's decision she chose to recouple with Harrison, shocking the rest of the Villa. In her speech she said: "The last few days, if not weeks, have been really up and down and confusing. But after a very unexpected conversation on the terrace this evening, I've gotten the clarity and the answers I've been looking for." At this point fellow Islander Meg whispered to Dejon: "They met at the terrace, is that what Harry pulled her for?" Toni then continued: "I think this person has realised where they went wrong. Hopefully things will look up from here on out. This decision has not been easy for me and I really had no idea where my head was at until that conversation. "I would like to apologise on behalf of both of us to the two people we've hurt in the process of coming to this conclusion. I'm not usually one for second or third chances but I'm willing to give it a shot. The boy I would like to couple up with is Harrison." Her decision sent shock waves through the Villa with all the Islanders looked stunned at her choice. Lauren went onto recouple with Ty, who had expressed interest in her earlier on in the day, and Cach was chosen by Emma. Following the recoupling the group quickly dispersed and Lauren burst into tears with Helena and Meg, where she could be heard saying she felt like an "idiot". Toni and Harrison remained at the Firepit where they both confessed to feeling terrible. Harrison then asked Toni if she thought Cach expected her to decision to which she said no. Cach was then overheard telling the boys it was "done" with himself and Toni. It's safe to say tomorrow's night episode of Love Island is sure to be a dramatic one. Love Island continues on ITV2 and ITVX

Raphael Saadiq new music Although we're not entirely sure what Saadiq will take to the stage at this multifaceted, no phones stage show, we recommend checking out his most recent effort, the four-song 'Blue Room.' Featuring collaborations with Common, Ledisi, Steve Spacek (who takes credit for the album) and Q-Tip, the blissed-out mini-album is a peaceful 14-minute experiment that shows off the gifted group's skills for innovative arrangement, powerful vocals and how they intersect. We recommend starting with the groovy 'Something Tells Me,' an inside-out, kaleidoscopic soundscape before diving into the scratchy jam 'Hey' and chill medley-like 'They Don't Know You.' To hear for yourself, you can find 'Blue Room' here. About the record, Spacek shared this statement via Bandcamp: Blue Room is a labour of love spanning a little over two decades. They were more or less unfinished songs from a few recording sessions at Raphael Saadiq's Blakeslee studios in LA. With amazing talent the likes of Common and QTip- to name but a few- passing through Raphael's studio on a daily basis, I ended up with a bunch of unfinished gems. Not sure what happened to the sessions but I had these 2-track songs that whenever I played them, peeps would always be asking when and where they could get them. I was constantly getting requests for me to release them. I most likely would have already, if it wasn't for the fact that- to my ear at least- they were clearly unfinished and wouldn't do justice to the featured talent- much less the music as a whole. Fast forward to present and thanks to new technologies like stem separation, I was able to finish up and polish off the four songs featured on Blue Room. I am finally and truly happy with the finished project. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!! Also, of note, Saadiq recently served as the composer on the Pedro Pascal film 'Freaky Tales.' Some tracks are atmospheric and ambient while others harken back to Saadiq's late-'80s 'Tony! Toni! Toné!' output. You can find the score here. On top of that, the tireless Saadiq contributed to 'Cowboy Carter' and 'Sinners' as noted above. D'Wayne Wiggins news On March 7, 2025, D'Wayne Wiggins passed away. Wiggins, 64, was in Tony! Toni! Toné! with Saadiq and was also his older brother (Saadiq's real name is Charles Ray Wiggins). Most recently, they performed together in 2023 on the 'Just Me and You Tour.' Two days before he passed, Wiggins shared he was experiencing medical complications on Instagram. It was later revealed the talented artist died from bladder cancer at his home in Oakland, CA. R&B icons on tour in 2025 It's a good time to be an R&B fan. Over the next few months, many of Saadiq's contemporaries from yesterday and today are also taking their hits to venues all over the U.S. and Canada. Here are just five of our favorites you won't want to miss live. • Erykah Badu • John Legend • Brandy with Monica • Earth Wind and Fire • Chris Brown Who else is pounding the pavement?
