Nurseries in Harrogate to host pyjama party to raise hospice funds

Yahoo10-04-2025
Five nurseries in Harrogate are hosting a pyjama party to raise money for St Michael's Hospice.
The Partou Pyjama Party, scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, will see staff and children spend the day in pyjamas, playing games, reading stories, sharing teddies, and making popcorn.
The initiative was conceived by Bambi Wainwright, nursery manager at Partou Little Dragons on East Parade.
She said: "The hospice is so close to our hearts as one of my team's mums was looked after there."
Toni, a team member at Partou Woodlands, on Wetherby Road, added: "St Michael's also means a lot to me personally after their incredible support when I unfortunately lost my father-in-law."
Samantha Rhodes, Partou managing director, said: "This is the first time that our nurseries in one town or city have come together in support of a single charitable cause."
Donations to the Partou Pyjama Party can be made via https://www.justgiving.com/page/bambi-wainwright-1

Love Island 2025 Grafties results: Who did the public vote for?

Love Island's official award ceremony the Grafties are back! And wow are they back with a vengeance as tonight's episode got intense, and we've got all the winner results here. The awards showcase some of the biggest moments in the Villa, revealing hidden conversations, unspoken moments and savage commentary from the Love Islanders about each other. The clips of these scenes were played on Instagram for the public to vote a few days ago and in tonight's episode the Islanders were played the clips and the winners were revealed. And here's everything you need to know about who won in the 2025 Love Island Grafties. The nominees were: Dejon, Helena, and Conor The winner is: Dejon Dejon was voted for by the public as the winner of the 'Eat, Sleep, Crack on Repeat' award, which showed a series of clips of him flirting with teh various bombshells that entered the Villa including Toni, Billykiss, and Andrada. When accepting his award Dejon said he was just a fan of "beautiful women" and was glad to have a girlfriend as beautiful as Meg. He said: "I think that beauty comes in all different shapes, sizes and ethnicities. And yeah I'm glad that my girlfriend is outrageously beautiful inside and out. Thanks for the award guys." The nominees were: Dejon and Helena, Toni and Shakira, and Helena and Meg The winner is: Toni and Shakira Toni and Shakira were awarded best double act but before they received the award, they also received some serious heat. During the clips that were played of them, the pair were seen talking negatively about Meg, following movie night. Meg expressed how hurt she was by the girls comments, and went onto claim she hadn't said anything bad about them, and that she supported the girls when they were down. Toni and Shakira also called out Harry and Dejon, with Shakira calling them the "most crazy manipulative men". Toni was then heard saying: "I don't want to have a conversation with any of these people," and Shakira added: "I hate them all." The islanders were shocked to hear what the girls had previously said and Dejon went onto defend Meg. Meg went onto say she felt Shakira and Toni were "fake to her face" and Toni then rebutted saying: "So are you. You act like you never say a bad thing about anyone." Toni then recalled the moment Meg had previously made fun of the way Toni and Shakira walked down the corridor. Meg was then seeing getting tearful and whispering to Angel and Ty, "I don't want to give them the time of day." Toni and Shakira then accepted their award, with Shakira saying: "We said what we said, it was after Movie Night. I don't know why it's so surprising, we had a scrap that night." The nominees were: Harry, Jamie and Harry & Angel The winner is: Harry and Angel After being two out of the three nominees it was perhaps unsurprising that Harry won this award. A series of clips were played of Harry and Angel being very flirty with each other after she entered the show as a late bombshell. The Islanders watched on in stunned silence, with Helena looking downcast at Harry's behaviour. Harry then expressed his confusion at their reactions saying, "I'm not sure what I really need to say on that? I don't think a bit of flirting really hurts to be honest." He then turned and asked Helena: "Do you agree?" She then replied: "You said you were flirty in the chats, but you lay it on thick don't you?" Helena then said how stupid she felt she looked as one of the clips showed her walking over to Harry while he was deep in flirting mode with Angel. Harry said he only gave Angel an eight out of 10 in the kissing challenge, to which Helena reminded him he also gave her that score. He defended himself and said: "Eight out of 10, that's like 80 per cent good." Harry and Angel then went to collect their award, and Harry said: "I wouldn't' really say I'm the flirtiest performer but I accept the award nevertheless. I think for me that was pretty harmless flirting, there's levels to go from that." Angel ended their speech by saying: "Cheers to no more flirting." The nominees are: Emma and Harry, Conor and Megan, and Shakira and Harry The winner is: TBA The nominees are: Cach, Shakira and Toni The winner is: TBA The nominees are: Dejon, Harry and Toni and Shakira The winner is: TBA The rest of the Grafties will air in tomorrow's night episode. 'It's been blown out of proportion': Love Island's Lauren responds to Harrison being called out by Women's Aid

Love Island's Lauren Wood has responded to Women's Aid's comments on partner Harrison Solomon's behaviour in the Villa, saying it had been "blown out of proportion". Speaking to Cosmopolitan UK after leaving the Villa last week, Lauren was asked how she felt about the charity's statement, to which she responded: "I think it was blown out of proportion. He's made a mistake, but everyone makes mistakes, like he's gone about it in the wrong way. He knows he's done wrong." She then added: "I think it was just the timing of everything. But like he said, he's not a bad person. Everyone in the Villa knows that and that's why it upset me the whole situation so much because I knew deep down he never meant it in a malicious way. He would never want to hurt someone, he just unfortunately didn't communicate with me how he felt and it's a shame he's been portrayed in this way, because that's just not him. And obviously for his family to see that it's just not nice when they know him properly, know that that isn't him as a person." She concluded: 'And with it being only an hour, we've not watched it back, we don't know what has actually been shown to get all of this. They see one hour a day.' Last week Women's Aid issued a statement to The Tab, in which they called out the men's behaviour on Love Island. The statement was shared after an episode aired in which Harrison slept with Lauren, and then the next day told fellow Islander Toni he still had feelings for her and suggested she chose him at the next recoupling, without telling Toni he had slept with Lauren. After Toni did make her decision, Lauren was upset and seen in tears on the show. Following this episode Women's Aid said: "In recent years, Love Island and other forms of reality TV have been repeatedly called out by viewers for allowing in contestants that had a history of abusive, coercive and manipulative behaviour in previous relationships. As a result, production companies have been more careful when it comes to selecting contestants and calling out toxic behaviours when we see them. 'Despite these positive steps, we still see unhealthy patterns of behaviour on these shows, showing just how steeped in misogyny and sexism our society still is. Women are often lied to, slut-shamed and manipulated, as well as laughed at behind their backs. Misogyny and sexism lay the foundation for the tolerance of abuse and violence – it reinforces a culture that excuses and trivialises violence against women and girls. More must be done to educate contestants on sexism and misogyny, and it is a great credit to viewers who take to social media, continuing to call out these behaviours as soon as they see them.' Harrison has since responded to the above statement, while in an interview with the Daily Mail. He said reading the charity's comment "wasn't nice" and that he does "respect women." He told the publication: "I have seen the backlash and it's hard to digest. I would disagree with a lot of it in terms of my respect for women, I do respect women. "The worst has been from Women's Aid. I know myself and the girls on the show too, Toni said she knows I'm not a bad person, just went about situations in the wrong way, but the Women's Aid statement wasn't nice... it's not nice coming out of the villa to my mum upset by that so I would say that's been the hardest." Harrison then did acknowledged his behaviour and apologised to the women he had hurt and added: "I got it wrong and the back and forth between the two connections caused more harm than I ever intended. "It wasn't ever an ego thing. I am not proud of how I handled things and I'm not going to make excuses. I just want to own it. If people can give me the space to grow from it, I will do everything I can to be better and that's the only thing I can do. "There is no handbook for how to be on a show like Love Island. It's instincts and intentions. I got some of it right, but I know I got a lot of it wrong, and I know that now." Last week Lauren was dumped from the Villa, after new bombshell Angel chose to couple up with Ty, which left Lauren single. She then asked Harrison (who was still technically in a couple with Toni) to leave with him. He debated over packing his bag and 24 hours after Lauren had left the Villa, he told his fellow Islanders he was quitting the Villa and wanted to pursue things with Lauren in the outside world. Since their exits last week, Harrison and Lauren have been reunited and appeared to barely spend a moment apart. The real reason why Love Island's Harrison has 'quit', following tearful breakdown and messy love triangle

Harrison has reportedly left the Love Island villa after a tearful week with Toni and Lauren. According to an insider, the 22-year-old footballer decided to leave the show after being involved in one of the most dramatic love triangles the show has ever seen. Harrison, who is originally from Derby, but relocated to Miami for his career, is said to have left the villa late on Thursday night and is on his way home to the UK. "It's been a momentous few days for Harrison and ultimately he has decided to quit," the source told The Sun. "Everyone was so shocked and people were crying and hugging him." "He worked through everything with the ITV duty of care team and is making his way home to his family now." Harrison has been involved in a love triangle with Toni and Lauren. He was originally coupled up with Toni, but recoupled with Lauren who he met at Casa Amor. His return to the villa with the new girl caused drama between him and Toni, who coupled up with Cach, and he eventually revealed that he still has feelings for her, leading her to pick him at the next recoupling and leaving both Cach and Lauren in tears. Toni then learnt that Harrison had slept with Lauren twice and felt terrible that she'd chosen him. He apologised to Lauren and agreed to let her crack on with Ty while he and Toni progressed in their relationship, but on Thursday night, Toni broke down in tears after she saw Harrison and Lauren in the bathroom flossing one another's teeth. Through tears she told him that he was "embarrassing her" and that he should have stayed with Lauren, before telling the girls that she's so "done". And things only got worse during the game of Couple of Sorts, where Toni and Harrison learned that they had been voted for by the public for the "couple who are playing a game", "the couple who are relying on physical attraction" and "most one-sided couple". From the look on Toni's face as they stood up on the podium, it was clear to see that she had checked out of the relationship. Cosmopolitan UK has contacted ITV for a comment. New episodes of Love Island air on ITV2 on weekdays and Sundays at 9pm.
