Zambry extends condolences over death of Firos Mohamed
In a Facebook post this morning, Zambry expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing it as a significant blow to the Malaysian football community.
'I have instructed that all necessary assistance be extended to Firos' family, including arrangements for the transport and burial of his remains, to ensure the process is handled smoothly.
'My heartfelt condolences to the entire family. May they be granted strength and resilience during this difficult time,' he said.
He also called on the public to pray for Firos to be blessed and placed among the righteous.
Zambry said he had personally visited the hospital after receiving the news and was able to meet the family to convey his condolences and offer moral support.
Firos Mohamed, 53, reportedly collapsed during the match held in conjunction with the Dr Zambry Abd Kadir Cup, and was later confirmed dead. — BERNAMA

He added that the proposed location (for the boat race) - the Pohon Jambu base - is already known as a focal point for Malaysian and Thai communities, and its selection is expected to have a direct impact on the economic activities of nearby residents. Produced by the Konoz Initiative under the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Media, the documentary goes beyond chronicling achievements. It offers a visual narrative of how Saudi Arabia-long associated with a conservative image-is now emerging as a competitive and modern global destination. In a statement issued on Sunday, Konoz said the film features mega projects, local talent development, and a cultural innovation boom, delivering a clear message: the Arab world is on the move, and Saudi Arabia is leading the way. "The documentary presents stunning visuals from across Saudi Arabia-from deserts to smart cities-telling the story of a nation's rise, now seen as a new benchmark in the modern Islamic world," the statement said. According to Konoz, the documentary will be broadcast on Shahid, STC TV, Saudi national television, and the official platforms of the Saudi Ministry of Media.
