Samsung seems to be prepping some serious upgrades for its next-generation Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to a new leak, the top-tier device is finally set to move past its long-standing 45W charging limit. Leaked details from an internal One UI 8.5 firmware suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra will support up to 60W fast charging — a much-needed jump that puts it closer to what other Android brands are already offering. For years, Samsung has played it safe in this department, mostly due to battery safety concerns. But now, it appears the South Korean tech giant is ready to take a step forward. This chip is expected to offer strong all-around performance, especially for gaming, multitasking, and AI-related tasks. Some rumours have even mentioned a Samsung-exclusive version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 built on a 2nm process, but that's still up in the air.Design-wise, Samsung may also be trimming things down. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is said to be thinner and lighter than the S25 Ultra, possibly under 7mm thick. In their place, the trio of Galaxy S26 devices are tipped to be the S26 Pro, S26 Edge and S26 Ultra. This claim is based on codenames found in an internal One UI 8 firmware build, which reference three devices labelled M1, M2, and M3. These are believed to correspond to the Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra models, respectively.The report further suggests that if this leaked naming strategy turns out to be true, then Samsung may possibly be looking to increase the prices across the lineup, especially with the Pro name now seemingly tied to the base model.
