Ysabel Ortega admits she felt challenged by Enchan, fight scenes in 'Sang'gre'
In Aubrey Carampel's report in "24 Oras" Monday, the Sparkle star shared that there were times she would forget the nuances of language when they were shooting scenes for the series.
"Sobrang complex pala ng mundo [ng Encantadia], it's literally an alternate universe to the point na first day ko, as in, may mga times na I still forget 'yung mga nuances. May isa akong eksena nasabi ko, 'Tulungan mo ko, please' so syempre nag-cut kami. Sabi nila, 'Ysabel walang please sa Encantadia ha,'" she said.
Ysabel also talked about her challenging yet rewarding role as Armea, which required fight scenes.
"More on refresher na lang sa sword fighting, kasi sword po 'yung weapon ko dito sa 'Sang'gre,' so of course training din for the scenes that we have," she said.
"Nag-t-training talaga kami a day before shooting para talagang ma-master na 'yung mga fight scenes na gagawin namin for the show," she added.
Ysabel stars as Armea, the daughter of King Ybrahim (Ruru Madrid) and Queen Alena (Gabbi Garcia) of Sapiro. On last Wednesday's episode, Armea was officially crowned queen of the kingdom following the death of Ybrahim.
"Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" airs on GMA Network from Mondays to Fridays at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." You can also watch it online via the Kapuso Stream on YouTube.

Esnyr, Charlie Fleming defend their duo from 'paawa' comments as Boy Abunda enters house
Charlie Fleming and Esnyr defended their duo from public comments describing them as fishing for pity in order to win the competition. On Tuesday's episode of "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition," Boy Abunda entered Bahay ni Kuya and challenged the housemates to face what the outside world thinks of them. The CharEs duo was first on the hot seat and they had 30 seconds to defend themselves. "Sabi nila, paawa daw ang duo ninyo para makakuha ng simpatya at para manalo," Tito Boy told them. "Siguro po Tito Boy sa paawa na sabi nila is 'yun po 'yung kami po 'yung taga probinsya, kami po ang hindi comfortable dito. For them it's paawa, but for us, it's a reality," Esnyr said. "That is why andito po kami talaga para to show everyone na this is a reality and this is not just a card for us to pull kaya hindi po 'yun paawa," she added. Charlie agreed. We are really representing who we are and what we came from. We know that we're not comfortable in lives, and yes po taga probinsya kami, yes po breadwinner kami, but it's also to really raise a flag. And even if taga probinsya ka, you can have a chance here in Manila po," she said. 'Immature, playing safe' Charlie and Esnyr also had to defend each other from comments directed to them individually. "Some say that you are too immature at pabebe. May mga na-disappoint din sa ilang mga kilos at mga nabitawan mong salita dito sa loob ng bahay considering na ikaw pa naman ang mahilig mag-share ng Bible verses," Tito Boy said to Charlie. Esnyr was given 30 seconds to defend Charlie, and he said they joined a reality show, not a "maturity show." "Nung pumasok kami dito talaga gusto naming ipakita kung ano talaga 'yung kami. At I believe na pumasok kami dito sa house para mag grow at 'yun po 'yung opportunity na nabigay kay Charlie," she said. "I admit na meron siyang mga kamalian before pero nakita ko po 'yung growth niya, 'yung respect niya sa amin, at 'yun nga 'yung sabi niya na Charlie brought me to God also," she added. Charlie later defended Esnyr. "Ikaw daw ay playing safe at walang empathy sa iyong mga kasama. Tahimik lang kapag nalalagay sa alanganin ang mga kaibigan," Tito Boy told Esnyr. "When she's quiet po because of other things are happening around the house, I do believe it's because she wants to know every single side of the story. 'Cause you can't really defend a person if you really don't know the whole story," Charlie said of her duo. The King of Talk entered the house to help the viewers get to know the Big Four days ahead of the Big Night. He did a "Fast Talk" round with the final duos and also let them duel with questions they prepared for each other. Mitena steals Brilyante ng Apoy; captures Cassiopeia
Mitena (Rhian Ramos) has now all four gems in her possession after stealing the Brilyante ng Apoy from Pirena (Glaiza De Castro). On Tuesday's episode of "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre," Pirena attempted to take Adamus (Kelvin Miranda) and Flamarra (Faith Da Silva) to the mortal world to escape Mitena's reign of terror. When they reached the Asnamon Tree, the portal to the other world, it was already open and the Brilyante ng Apoy gave Pirena a warning. She told her daughter and nephew to hide while she readied to face the enemy. Mitena used the three gems to find Pirena's location and later arrived with Zaur (Gabby Eigenmann) and Damon (Jon Lucas). The two Mine-a-ve generals fought Pirena, but she used the Brilyante ng Apoy to beat them back. When Mitena joined the fray, Pirena lost the battle and her Brilyante. She used the distraction to back away to the Asnamon Tree, but Zaur gave her a parting shot and a wound to the leg. Mitena then used her scepter to close the Asnamon Tree with ice. Afterwards, Mitena sought out Cassiopeia (Solenn Heussaff), who was still sleeping from the dart fired by Anaca (Mika Salamanca). She woke up the Hara Durie up using the power of her scepter. Cassiopeia acknowledged her as a sister, but Mitena refused to recognize their blood relation after her forced exile to Mine-a-ve. Like what she did with Alena, Armea, and Danaya, she captured Cassiopeia and trapped her in a crystal. Encantadia's fate now hinges on Danaya's daughter Terra (Bianca Umali), who is still a baby in the mortal world, and Pirena, the only one left to protect her. "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" airs new weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." You can also watch it on YouTube via Kapuso Stream. —MGP, GMA Integrated News
