Trump's artistic skills are in the spotlight after The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump allegedly contributed a suggestive drawing and lewd poem for Jeffrey Epstein's 50th birthday in 2003. Trump denied having anything to do with the page, but in his denial, he told an undisputable lie: 'I never wrote a picture in my life,' he told The Journal.
Trump has, in fact, made many pictures in his life, and the description of the medium used to make the drawing reportedly sent to Epstein—a heavy marker— just so happens to be his medium of choice. Say what you will about the inconsistencies between his words, politics, and actions, but Trump has a consistent, distinctive artistic style.
Trump created marker-made doodles showing recurring motifs of city skylines for charity auctions throughout the 2000s, when he hosted NBC's The Apprentice and The Celebrity Apprentic e. 'It takes me a few minutes to draw something. In my case, it's usually a building or a cityscape of skyscrapers, and then I sign my name. But it raises thousands of dollars to help the hungry in New York through the Capuchin Food Pantries Ministry,' he wrote in his 2008 book, .
Far from trompe l'oeil (French for 'fools the eye'), a style in which objects are depicted with photographically realistic detail, one of Trump's doodles of the Empire State Building is filled in with sharp black squiggles that resemble his own sharp, jagged signature, while a 2006 sketch of the George Washington Bridge stands apart from the rest and proves Trump has more artistic skill than he might let on. His sketch of the bridge shows a sense of depth and angles.
Viewed as a body of work, most of Trump's sketches are rudimentary and his skylines blocky and simple ('Art may not be my strong point,' he admitted in Trump Never Give Up), but they share an aesthetic. And judging Trump's work alongside the art of other presidents—from presidential doodles to former President George W. Bush's post-presidency oil paintings —it's clear that his style is singular.
'It's sort of surprising that Trump's doodles show a bit of artistic talent,' David Greenberg, a journalism and media studies professor at Rutgers University and author of books including Presidential Doodles, tells Fast Company. 'I'd put him in maybe the top third of presidents in his doodling. Of course, it's hard to say. He's no Herbert Hoover, that's for sure.' The National Archives called Hoover 'among America's greatest doodling presidents.'
Is there a market for Trump to make a name for himself as an artist out of office? Still, like with a painting by, say, Khloe Kardashian, Trump's doodles aren't valuable for their artistic merit, but for the artist's famous name. Trump's Empire State Building drawing sold at auction for $100 in 1995 for a charity; by 2017, when he was president, it resold for $16,000. By this measure, Trump's potential value as an artist has never been higher. More famous than ever, Trump could do worse than an art career.

Newsom Hits Hard At 'Unmoored' Trump Amid Epstein Scandal: 'This Is Not The Same Trump'
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) came full swing at President Donald Trump Saturday, claiming the president is lying to cover up his involvement in convicted sex abuser Jeffrey Epstein's case. 'He's lying to cover up his prior lies and then lying again. Now he doesn't even know truth from fiction, and so look, he's caught it red handed,' Newsom told popular left-wing influencer Brian Tyler Cohen in an interview that aired Saturday. 'He's in the files. We know it, period, full stop.' Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi have received major backlash in the past few weeks over their handling of Epstein's files after hyping them up, then failing to release more information. Many of those outraged are the president's own supporters, who are beginning to turn on him over the issue. Meanwhile, news outlets have been resurfacing old videos, photos and documents that suggest a close friendship between the president and Epstein. 'His biggest supporters may have been the difference in the election, and he turned on them. He has zero loyalty,' Newsom said. The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that Bondi informed Trump in May that his name was in the files related to Epstein's case. 'He's part of this cover up, and he has confused even the most ardent observers here. I mean, you can't — the guy's a pretzel on this issue. Every hour, he contradicts a statement,' Newsom told Cohen. This week, Trump's former criminal defense attorney, now Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, met with Epstein's co-conspirator and convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell. The president told reporters that pardoning Maxwell is not something he has thought about, but noted that he is 'allowed to do it' 'This is sick stuff. This is sick,' Newsom said. 'I mean, if you're a conspiracy theorist, I mean, they're going to turn me into one. Why the hell are we even talking to her? What, a pardon for what? No, seriously, for what?' He added that Trump has seemed increasingly 'unmoored' as speculation grows about his past relationship with Epstein. 'He's lost a step,' Newsom said. 'This is not the same Trump 1.0. This is, something's off, increasingly off, and he's getting, he's unmoored in ways even by Trump's standards I haven't seen. I don't want to overstate this moment, but you can't understate. This is something, something ain't right, as they say.' Newsom went on to bash Trump over recent actions that some have speculated were intentional distractions from the Epstein scandal, such as threatening to strip Rosie O'Donnell of citizenship, vowing to put cane sugar in Coca-Cola, complaining about the name of the Washington Commanders and sharing a bizarre AI-generated video of Barack Obama being arrested. 'It reminds me of a punch drunk boxer. He's just wildly flailing. He's flailing. He's just zigging and zagging. He's desperate,' Newsom said. 'He's trying anything, trying to chum the waters, and it's not working. And normally it works for him. It's not working right now.' Woman Helps 97-Year-Old Walking Alone in the Heat. Then Uncovers Surprising Link to Her Late Father (Exclusive)
A chance encounter on a hot afternoon led to an unexpected bond between two women, nearly seven decades apart in age After a tense morning in June, Estrella Quiroz set out for a quiet lunch to clear her mind. On the way, she noticed an older woman walking in the heat and, although it wasn't something the Miami-native had done before, she felt compelled to offer the woman a ride and some food from Wendy's. What began as a spontaneous act of kindness led to an unexpected friendship, and despite their age difference, 29-year-old Estrella and 97-year-old Lilian discovered a surprising connection neither of them saw coming. 'In the car she was like, 'Why are you taking me?' And that's when I was like, 'you remind me of my grandma,'' Estrella tells PEOPLE exclusively. 'If that was my grandma, I would 1000% want a stranger to do the same – a nice stranger.' While driving Lilian to run errands, Estrella was surprised to learn that she is a former accountant who lives alone on government assistance and relies on public transportation to get around. 'She's very savvy. Even after we pulled out of Wendy's, and I was going to drop her off at home, she was literally directing me,' Estrella recalls. 'She was very aware of where I was driving…I was really impressed by her sharpness.' Estrella just so happened to capture their first encounter. Although it was her first time vlogging and showing her face on TikTok, Lillian was a natural in front of the camera. 'I did reels with voiceovers, but never with my face,' Estrella explains. 'So I posted [the video] just on a whim, and then overnight it went viral, and the next morning people were asking how they could support [Lilian], and so I opened a GoFundMe with the goal of making $5,000.' In less than 10 hours, supporters had raised over $8,000 to help Lilian with food, bills, and a new walker, as the majority of her social security checks go towards rent, with very little leftover for herself. At the time of publication, the GoFundMe has raised over $22,000. 'It was beautiful to see people still overpouring in Lillian's cup,' Estrella says. Even Wendy's sent her a gift card. 'I don't even think she understands,' Estrella admits. 'I tried to explain the virality. I tried to explain a video. She was super confused.' Despite this, Lilian was visibly grateful for the support, as seen in a follow-up video where Estrella gives her an envelope full of cash. However, of everything Estrella learned about Lilian that day, what struck her the most was the fact that she was from the same city as her late father. 'She was born in León, Nicaragua, and that surprised me because my dad passed away, and he's currently buried in León, Nicaragua,' Estrella reveals. 'It's not the capital. It's not a popular city at all. So it was very surprising.' When Estrella was just 17 years old, her father was deported to Nicaragua. Three days after her 18th birthday, the 50-year-old collapsed while getting off a bus and died alone in the hospital. In the days leading up to his death, Estrella's father left her three voicemails, which she didn't listen to until after the grim news. 'My dad left me these voicemails, and he tells me that he hopes a million angels look after me, and that he loves me,' Estrella recounts. Since then, she's felt a deep sense of guilt for missing his calls, not knowing they would be his last. But the voicemails he left behind became a quiet source of comfort – something she could return to. In time, they helped her find a new sense of direction and meaning. In college, Estrella decided she wanted to see the world and, despite not having the money, she made it happen through credit cards, scholarships, and loans. 'I'm the daughter of immigrants. So you grow up with having very little, and so there's a lot more gratitude with everything that you do get,' she explains. After visiting 45 countries, she met her co-founder, who helped her create Last Farewell – a company incorporated in June 2024, whose 'mission is to leave no words left unspoken' through planned last messages and personalized memorial pages. 'Being a first-time founder has been terrifying, but I think about my dad and I think about the courage he had and my mom, how resilient she's been,' Estrella said in a video on her company's website. "I feel self-called to it because I know the words that my parents have left behind are so meaningful to me. And my dad – penniless – left something that has impacted me so greatly.' During her travels, Estrella met strangers who opened up their homes and hearts to her – small acts of kindness she plans to pay forward. 'And even if it's not money…if we have nothing. Well, at least we can give our energy to someone,' she says. Estrella believes her father deeply influenced her generosity – growing up, he gave all he could, and she feels a responsibility to do the same. 'I really do think Lilian was an angel in my life, a living angel,' she tells PEOPLE. 'I just think she came at the right time.' Estrella didn't expect a random day in mid-June to carry such weight, but the encounter ended up changing the course of both her life and Lilian's. Since giving the 97-year-old a ride, Estrella has remained committed to checking up on her new friend and has even offered more rides to strangers in hopes of making a small difference in people's lives, just like Lilian did in hers. Though Marvel isn't hitting Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, the event is in full swing and excitement has been high over the sneak peeks at Tron: Ares, Predator: Badlands and toy booths for Lego and Hot Wheels. But there's more news coming for TV shows, movies and games. We're enthused about Avatar: The Last Airbender, Gen V and Welcome to Derry, so we're riding along with fans as announcements and trailer drops come out. We'll be posting highlights here from the four-day affair to help you keep up with the hottest, weirdest and most interesting stuff that hits. Stay tuned for our daily updates as the weekend rolls on. Coyote vs. Acme gets release date After being rescued from the pile of scrapped ashes left by Warner Bros. Discovery, the Coyote vs. Acme movie will hit theaters next year thanks to Ketchup Entertainment. Footage was screened during a Comic-Con panel, that showed John Cena playing Acme's attorney in a case that pits Wile E. Coyote against the corporation for faulty goods. Cast members Will Forte, Eric Bauza and Martha Kelly were on deck along with director Dave Green. The film is set to debut on Aug. 28, 2026. Wile E. Coyote on stage at Comic-Con 2025. Thursday's Comic-Con panel brought together original creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino and voice cast Zach Tyler Eisen, Jennie Kwan, Michaela Jill Murphy, Jack DeSena (Sokka), Dante Basco (Zuko) and Dee Bradley Baker for a look at the past and present, including Avatar: Seven Havens. The new animated sequel series, which was originally announced in February, has 26 episodes and will be split into two installments. Fans will meet Avatar Pavi when the series debuts, but for now, here's a glimpse at the bender picking up the mantle. Nickelodeon Five Nights at Freddy's 2 The sequel from Blumhouse sees an unsuspecting group pull up to the creepy pizzeria, not knowing about the killer, life-like animatronics with nothing but evil in store. They clearly don't know about Freddy's history. Skeet Ulrich appeared in Hall H, announcing that he will be in the movie as "somebody with a very particular and specific past and somebody who has a deep emotional tie to what's going on." For those paying attention, this is sort of a Scream reunion as Matthew Lillard is returning as villain William Afton. Aside from that, details for Ulrich's character are under wraps. The film hits theaters on Dec. 5. Percy Jackson and the Olympians, season 2 release date Pack up for Camp Half-Blood when the fantasy series returns, this time introducing Tantalus, Thalia and the goddess Athena to the story. The new season arrives on Disney Plus on Dec. 10, and fans will see Percy dealing with more than fantastical monsters: Grover goes missing and there's drama with friends and a new sibling. Twisted Metal season 2 sneak peek With a week left before the new episodes of Peacock's Grindhouse series returns, the show's main cast, which includes Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Anthony Carrigan and Joe Seanoa, along with showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith, hit the stage in Hall H to tease what's in store. Smith revealed two sneak peek clips for the new season. The first scene found Stu (played by Mike Mitchell) striving to be a better killer. With Sweet Tooth as his mentor, it looks like he has some lofty, murderous goals. Stu takes the crew out but he missed all the major organs, which Sweet Tooth says is a major no-no. You have to go for "the grapes, the apple or the banana," the evil clown explains. The last victim to die recognizes Sweet Tooth, which brightens the killer's spirits, until he calls him "Big Baby." Yes, there's a notorious killer out there named "Big Baby" and it looks like Sweet Tooth is going to hunt him down now, too. Michael James Shaw stars as Axel in season 2 of Twisted Metal on Peacock. Peacock The next clip finds John Doe being vulnerable as he talks about living a life without any childhood memories. But, as he realizes, things could be much worse if he had all that knowledge. The big reveal in this clip comes toward the end as Axel (played by Michael James Shaw), the character who's attached to two giant wheels, comes barrelling through flames, all smiles. Get ready for a trip back into the wastes. Twisted Metal season 2 drops its first three episodes on July 31. Outlander, season 8 teaser Outlander's final season is due out early next year, ending the love-and-war saga for Jamie and Claire. How will their story -- and history -- play out? Starz shared a teaser for the last chapter, and Frank Randall's book has everyone on edge. Check out the clip, mark your calendar for this series' end and the beginning of the spinoff, Outlander: Blood of My Blood. Invincible VS trailer shows Battle Beast Gamers were treated to a trailer for the new Invincible VS, a bloody superhero game based on Robert Kirkman's animated Prime Video series. We've been following all the details for this upcoming release but watch below to see Battle Beast bare his teeth in this latest character reveal. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is ending soon AMC served up a new trailer for season 3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, but Hall H news revealed the show is renewed for a fourth and final season. Season 3 sees Norman Reedus's Daryl and Melissa McBride's Carol heading to Spain in the new installment as they try to find their way home. Although production for season 4 starts soon, there aren't any details about its plot. In the meantime, fans can tune in on Sept. 7 for the next round. Rick and Morty's President Curtis gets a spinoff Adult Swim announced that the popular President Curtis is getting his own animated series, with star Keith David reprising his role as the voice behind the titular character. "President Curtis has always been a blast to play," David said in a statement. "Getting to explore his world more deeply in this new series is a dream. I can't wait for fans to see what kind of chaos he stirs up when Rick isn't around to steal the spotlight." Adult Swim Alien: Earth brings the Xenomorph to TV Alien: Earth fans in attendance were treated to a world premiere screening of the pilot episode. After that, show creator Noah Hawley and executive producer David W. Zucker took the stage with cast members Timothy Olyphant, Sydney Chandler, Babou Ceesay, Samuel Blenkin and Alex Lawther to give further insight into what to expect from the sci-fi drama. The first immediate detail any fan of the franchise will notice is how familiar-feeling things will be in the first few moments of the series. Hawley revealed during the panel that the Maginot, the ship in the series, "was built to the exact specifications" of the Nostromo from the original 1979 movie. Sydney Chandler plays Wendy in FX's Alien: Earth on Hulu. Patrick Brown/FX Networks Sydney Chandler's Wendy is basically the show's Ripley. She's a different sort of synthetic human (the consciousness of a 12-year-old girl lives inside her). There's plenty of Xenomorph action, along with some other creepy specimens. Honestly, this may be the sci-fi series of the year. It premieres on Aug. 12 on Hulu. Gen V season 2 trailer gets a boost from Starlight A panel for Boys spin-off Gen V teased a tense and gory sophomore year for Marie and fellow supes at Godolkin University. Gen V's second season is set after the fourth season of The Boys and debuts with three episodes on Sept. 17. During the panel, which featured series creator Eric Kripke, producer Michelle Fazekas and stars Jaz Sinclair, London Thor, Derek Lu, Maddie Phillips and newcomer Hamish Linklater, a brand-new trailer for the upcoming season was shown. It looks like Starlight is coming to Godolkin, and she has a big job for Marie that'll surely inform the new storyline and, potentially, the plot of the final season of The Boys. The Boys season 5's Jared Padalecki Speaking of The Boys ... To whet the appetites of the fans in the room, Kripke dropped a little clip for the fifth and final season of the hit comic book series. In the sneak peek, Homelander (who now has political power) addresses a crowd. "This is a safer, more god-fearing nation," he says. Yet fear is the only thing on the faces of those he's speaking to. Other characters who pop up are a furious Billy Butcher, Soldier Boy in a cryo-tank and a first-ever glimpse of Supernatural star Jared Padalecki. Having Padalecki and Jenson Ackles back on screen together is enough to get me to tune in. Predator: Badlands sneak peek Director Dan Trachtenberg and stars Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi and Elle Fanning hit the Hall H stage to promote Predator: Badlands. Is this the Predator/Alien crossover movie we've been yearning for? It doesn't seem so. Trachtenberg revealed that Badlands will focus on the relationship between Elle Fanning's Weyland-Yutani android (a detail that connects both franchises) and the Predator. 20th Century Studios Everything is apparently out to kill the Predator here. "He's essentially the Dutch of this movie," Trachtenberg revealed, referencing Arnold Schwarzenegger's character in the classic film. Fun tidbit: The scene of the droid and Predator being strapped together in Badlands was inspired by Chewbacca and C-3PO from Star Wars. As for a sneak peek, the first 15 minutes of the movie were shown. In it, the Predator had to fight another Predator -- his brother, it turns out -- in a cave. Our main Predator loses the battle, which prompts his Predator father to send him out into the wild to prove himself. He must head to another planet and hunt an "unkillable" creature that even sparks fear in his own dad. Tron: Ares had a light show and music video Jared Leto is Ares in Tron: Ares, which will hit theaters on Oct. 10. Leah Gallo/ Disney After nearly 15 years, Tron returned to San Diego. The last time fans headed to the grid, Tron: Legacy took Hall H by storm. It's been a long time coming, and director Joachim Rønning and stars Jared Leto, Jeff Bridges, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson and Evan Peters gave the Comic-Con crowd an exciting look at the next entry in the iconic franchise: Tron: Ares. One clip showed Peters' Julian Dillinger (who shares the name of the villain from the 1982 movie) sending Leto's Ares and Turner-Smith's Athena on a mission to get Eve Kim (played by Lee) and the stick of important code that she stole from Encom, Dillinger's company. Eve evades them and steals Athena's light cycle. She barely escapes and another clip found her entering the Grid for the first time. Ares rescues her from an ocean of digital water. She finally agrees to help Ares find the code. Glitzy red and blue laser light beams bounced across the room and screen, dazzling the crowd for a final time when Nine Inch Nails' music video for As Alive As You Need Me to Be played. Crunchyroll to launch 'Anime Nights' Crunchyroll's presence at SDCC this year includes a FanFest music event featuring multiple genres in a two-day anime-inspired concert series. But on Saturday, the anime giant announced the addition of Anime Nights, which will see the company screen feature films in theaters across the US each third Monday of the month. Beginning Oct. 20, fans can gather to see films like Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to be Loved. Crunchyroll will offer programming at "225 theaters across participating chains throughout the US., including Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, AMC Theatres, Regal, Cinemark Theatres, Harkins Theatres, and Landmark Cinemas." Starfleet Academy joins Star Trek family An original Paramount Plus series, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is set to drop in 2026, just in time to celebrate the franchise's 60th anniversary. Saturday's panel presentation included a teaser trailer of the new show, which focuses on a group of young student cadets looking to earn their place as Starfleet officers. Check out the clip and Paul Giamatti's villainous turn as Nus Braka. Talent on hand for SDCC included Holly Hunter, who plays Nahla Ake, the captain of the USS Athena and the school chancellor. Panelists also included co-showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau, along with Starfleet cadets Sandro Rosta (who plays Caleb Mir), Karim Diané (who stars as the Klingon Jay-Den Kraag), Kerrice Brooks (playing Sam), George Hawkins (who stars as Darem Reymi) and Bella Shepard, who plays Genesis Lythe, the daughter of an admiral.
