NT woman speared in head in alleged domestic violence attack in remote community
Emergency services received a report about midday Sunday that the young woman had been speared in the head by a man known to her in Angurugu, a community on Groote Eylandt in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
NT police said officers and local clinic staff found the victim conscious with the spear still in her head.
"The victim has since been conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital via Care Flight in a serious but stable condition," a police spokesperson said.
Police said they were still looking for the alleged offender, and that investigations were continuing.
Police urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers or 131 444.

Teenage boy in custody after alleged Darwin Show stabbing of another teenage boy
A teenager is in serious condition after he was stabbed at the Royal Darwin Show, with the alleged offender in custody, police say. The Northern Territory Police said the boy, aged 15, was assaulted with a knife by another 15-year-old boy at the showgrounds after an altercation. A spokesperson said the alleged offender fled the scene after the incident took place at around 8.20pm on Saturday. "Police and St John Ambulance attended, and the victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital in a serious condition," the spokesperson said. Police later posted a Facebook update at 10pm, saying the alleged offender was located. "The 15-year-old alleged offender has been arrested by police and is currently in custody," the statement said. Woman charged after alleged stabbing at InterContinental Sydney
Two employees at a luxe hotel in Sydney's CBD have allegedly been attacked by a co-worker. Police were called to the InterContinental Sydney on Macquarie St at about 2.30am on Saturday after reports of an assault. A 30-year-old woman had suffered stab wounds to her upper body. She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a stable condition. Police allege a 27-year-old woman was assaulted as she tried to intervene in the altercation, suffering minor injuries. A 31-year-old woman was arrested at the scene. She has since been charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to the person with intent to murder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. She was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday. Police say all three women are known to one another. Sydney City Police Area Command's Chief Inspector Gary Coffey said police had so far been unable to determine an exact motive for the alleged stabbing, other than the fact all three women were co-workers. 'We have to pay tribute to the co-workers who intervened because the situation could have been a lot worse than it is,' he said, as per The Daily Telegraph.

Croydon Park, Prairiewood: Shots fired at two Sydney homes while children, elderly inside
Two Sydney homes have been targeted in brazen shootings overnight, with shots fired while children and elderly residents were inside. The first home was targeted on Queen St, Croydon Park at about 8pm on Friday. Police were told a person was seen standing out the front and firing two shots from a pistol into the home, before getting into the driver's seat of a white hatchback. A 44-year-old man, three women - aged 40, 51, and 71 - were inside the home with a five-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl at the time. No injuries were reported. The white hatchback was last seen travelling north along Tavistock St, police say. The incident is believed to be targeted. Police are urging members of the public to contact them if they know anything about either of the incidents.
