Several motorists stopped to help but Emma was pronounced dead by medics.
Tributes have poured in for the much-loved mum-of-two following her tragic passing.
Emma's heartbroken fiancé, Jack Howes, described her as a "beautiful" and "bubbly" person.
He said their whole lives revolved around each other and their two kids, Maddison, four, and Miller, six.
Jack told The Press and Journal: "She loved her kids and they loved her.
"We'll all miss her so much."
Other loved ones took to Facebook to pay tribute to the "vibrant girl".
One wrote: "Can't believe I'm writing this. You were always the life and soul of the party and you will be missed by so many. RIP Emma."
Another said: "Rest easy, beautiful girl. You made a big impact. Your sense of fun and mischief always made the day fly by. Will forever be in awe of your incredible memory and wicked laugh. You will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing you. Sincere condolences to your babies and family."
Two boys, 16 and 17, killed in fiery multi-car smash as three other high school students left critical
A third added: "Emma, you were a character and a half, full of fun and that crazy laugh I will never forget. Fly high my darling."
Police are appealing for witnesses to the single-vehicle crash which involved a white Kia Sportage.
No one else was injured in the smash.
Sergeant Kate Finlayson, Dingwall Road Policing, said: 'Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
"We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this crash or has dashcam footage that could be helpful in our investigation.
"I would also like to extend my thanks to the motorists who stopped to help the woman.'

Teenager convicted for not insuring surprise birthday gift car before receiving it

The teen defended herself in a letter to Ipswich magistrates court CAR BUNGLE Teenager convicted for not insuring surprise birthday gift car before receiving it Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A TEENAGER has received a criminal conviction for not being insured for her car – before she had received it for her 18th birthday. The waitress, from Poole in Dorset, was gifted a Fiat for her landmark birthday, but mistakenly did not insure it immediately. However, the DVLA charged her with keeping an uninsured vehicle and brought a criminal prosecution over the unpaid bill. She pleaded guilty to the offence, which took place a few weeks before her 18th birthday. 'My family got the car for me as my 18th birthday present," she wrote. "I was still 17 at the time of the offence and had not actually been given the keys to the car and was not aware that it would be mine.' She added that she and her dad have reading difficulties, and only realised the seriousness of what was happening when a friend read her the official letter. She continued: 'I have never used the car as I have still not passed my driving test. 'My dad is willing to pay the fine for me as he thinks this is his fault. 'He receives Universal Credit and PIP for his mental health, and I have just finished college and currently have a part-time job as a waitress on the minimum wage for an 18-year-old. 'I was a good student in school and college studying art and have never been in any trouble in my life. Daily Money News "We just misunderstood the letter, I thought it said I had to SORN it or pay a fine if it doesn't get sorted. 'I am very sorry.' A magistrate slapped the teen with a 12-month conditional discharge instead of a fine. But she chose not to send the case back to the DVLA for an extra public interest check. The teen will now have a criminal conviction, and must also pay a £20 court fee. It comes after news that one in six drivers admitted they have been behind the wheel without insurance. A poll of 2,000 adults found 24 per cent of these did so only on a short journey, believing cover wasn't necessary. A fifth unknowingly committed the offence when their policy had expired, but 17 per cent did it as they wanted to save money. And 15 percent drove uninsured because renewing their policy was a life admin task they kept putting off renewing. Learner drivers are twice as likely to drive uninsured compared to those with a full driving license (37 per cent). James Armstrong, a young driver expert at flexible car insurer Veygo, which commissioned the research, said: 'Driving without insurance is a serious offence that can result in hefty fines, points on your licence, or even having your car seized. 'It's worrying to see so many people are driving uninsured, especially as there are affordable options available for short-term cover.'

Hairdresser 'upset' after thief swipes phone from under her

Emma Horne was working at her salon in Warrington, Cheshire, on Tuesday [June 24] when a man carrying a newspaper came in asking for a haircut. After the 42-year-old explained she didn't cut men's hair, he claimed to be asking for his wife, so she walked behind her desk to fetch a price list. Footage shows the cap-wearing thief take the chance to unfold his newspaper and place it over her Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra phone that was sitting on top of the desk. The man can then be seen swiping his newspaper and Emma's £1,300 mobile off the unit's top and making a swift getaway without anyone noticing the device had gone. Emma said she realised a few minutes after he left, but she and a client couldn't find him when they looked down a nearby street. When they returned to the salon and checked their cameras, they found the man's cunning theft was captured on CCTV. Emma said she realised a few minutes after he left (Image: Kennedy News and Media) The incident has been reported to Cheshire Police, and the force has confirmed enquiries are ongoing. Emma, from Warrington, Cheshire, said: "It happened so fast he was literally in the salon for minutes. "I went behind the counter to get a price list for him, then he put the newspaper over my phone and swiped it. It was gone within seconds. "I felt angry and I was dead upset because it's the fact that someone came and took my property right in front of my face. He was standing right next to me. "He actually looks at the cameras and everything so he knew the cameras were there because he looks right at it. "About three minutes after he left, I was like, 'where's my phone?'. "Panic set in because I've got my whole work schedule and everything on my phone. Everything's just gone. "I went straight into the bank and put a freeze on my cards because I've got savings accounts and everything on there. I can't access my money now. "It happened so fast. The anger is setting in now. I'm quite frustrated with it because I've got to go out and get myself a new phone and everything now. "These people think they can go around and do this and get away with it." Emma says she bought the phone eight months ago and had only recently finished paying for it. She insists she usually welcomes everybody into her salon but believes she'll be more wary of potential customers in future. Emma said: "I feel a bit wary about things now" "He did it so fast, we just didn't see him. It makes you feel a bit uneasy. "We've got cameras for our own security and they're still coming in and doing it. "We're quite friendly in our salon and we welcome everybody but I suppose you've still got to be on your guard because these people are out there going around nicking phones. "Someone said they saw him lurking outside so he was obviously watching me put my phone down." Recommended reading: A friend shared screenshots of the footage to Facebook in case a user recognised him and it has been shared more than 150 times. Her post said: "This just happened 1hr ago at the Warrington Market. "The newspaper was a decoy. My friend just had her brand-new Samsung phone swiped after he pretended to be interested in services at her salon. "He placed a newspaper on top of the phone and swiped it. Please share if you can." A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At 11.38am on Tuesday 24 June, police were called to a report of theft at a hair salon in Time Square, Warrington. "The caller reported that approximately 30 minutes earlier, an unknown man had entered the salon posing as a client, and stole a mobile phone. "Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police via or call 101 quoting IML2118222."

Urgent hunt for naked man prowling in front of homes in a gimp mask

The UK has yet another naked man wearing only a gimp mask on the loose. Ring Doorbell owners were shocked to find a nude man prowling around in front of their cameras on Westby Street, Cleveland Road and Bannister Street in Lytham, Lancashire, in the early hours of July 18. Lancashire Police said: 'We are aware of a concerning video circulating on social media of a naked male wearing a face covering walking around Lytham in the early hours of the morning. 'This incident was not initially reported to police and has only been brought to our attention after it has been viewed on Facebook. 'Fylde Rural Task Force are currently conducting CCTV and house to house enquiries and would like to reassure you that we are taking this matter seriously. 'We can confirm this incident occurred on the 18th July 2025 at approximately 00:50 hours, not on the 31st July as suggested by a recent anonymous Facebook post.' It comes just a few weeks after 'Pantherman' was spotted quite literally prowling around gravestones in Merseyside. A person dressed in a catsuit has been terrorising locals after being spotted stalking people along secluded paths and reportedly leaping out from behind gravestones. The mysterious figure, dressed in a skin-tight black cat suit and mask, was captured on camera meowing and writhing on the ground near Wallasey Beach, Merseyside. Footage shows the person wriggling under a fence near a Harvester pub in the Wirral before prancing along a path. Another video shows people in a car screaming as the figure approaches close by. Residents claim he resembles a 'banshee,' 'urban jaguar' and even a 'gimp' and locals like Abbie Gilbert have said the community are trying to hunt 'him or it' down. But Abbie said she saw the funny side and told Metro: 'I really found the whole thing quite amusing and I can't believe how many people in Wirral have also had encounters and are aware of him. 'From everyone's sightings, the Pantherman is harmless although he does look scary. I really don't think he's dangerous, just a bit strange.'
