Jim Davidson reflects on addiction struggles and embarrassing encounter with Miss World

Express Tribune21-04-2025
Comedian Jim Davidson has shared further details about the extent of his past drug addiction in a candid interview with The Telegraph.
Known for his roles as the host of Big Break and The Generation Game, as well as his win on Celebrity Big Brother in 2014, Davidson has been open about his struggles with drugs, revealing how his addiction once controlled his life.
In the interview, Davidson spoke about his addiction to cocaine, describing it as an obsession that gave him a sense of invincibility. "Drugs made me feel like Superman," he explained, noting how the euphoria would fade quickly, leading him to crave more. He recounted one particularly alarming incident at a showbiz party where he was sitting at a table with a nosebleed, feeling on the brink of collapse and yet expressed confusion over why Miss World, a guest at the event, avoided speaking to him.
Davidson also reflected on his reckless behavior, which included sourcing drugs for friends. 'I used to take tonnes of drugs and run errands to pick up pills and other substances for my mates,' he said. He further revealed that his addiction caused a significant strain on his family life, explaining how he prioritized drugs over everything else, including loved ones. 'I didn't know how to put the brakes on,' he admitted during an appearance on Life Stories with Piers Morgan.
The comedian acknowledged the devastating toll of his addiction, recalling times when he took as many as 250 pills over a weekend. Ultimately, he realized the destructive path he was on, which led him to quit drugs. Davidson's openness about his past highlights the dangerous allure of addiction and the importance of seeking help to overcome it.

Mel C reveals Spice Girls tensions persist as some members are excluded from WhatsApp chats

Melanie Chisholm, better known as Mel C or 'Sporty Spice,' has hinted at ongoing tensions within the Spice Girls, revealing that not all members are included in every group chat. Speaking during an interview in Australia, the 51-year-old singer admitted there are 'subgroups' among the iconic pop band and that both Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) are sometimes left out of certain WhatsApp threads. 'I definitely know there is a chat group that doesn't contain me,' Mel C said, 'but somewhere else we keep Ginger or Posh out. Like all friendship groups, we have many ways of communicating.' Her comments follow a weekend appearance at Mel B's second wedding to hairstylist Rory McPhee in Morocco, which she attended alone from the group. Emma Bunton had previously attended the couple's London ceremony at St. Paul's Cathedral, but neither Geri nor Victoria were present at either celebration. Although Beckham reportedly sent her apologies, Halliwell's absence has fueled speculation of a continuing rift between her and Mel B. That feud traces back to 2019 when Mel B disclosed during a Piers Morgan's Life Stories interview that she and Geri had a past intimate relationship, a revelation that reportedly shocked Halliwell and led to lingering tension. According to reports, Mel B has never formally apologized. In recent years, rumors of internal conflict among the Spice Girls have continued to surface. In late 2024, The Sun reported that Netflix issued a 'stark ultimatum' to the group regarding a proposed biopic, urging them to reconcile or risk having the project proceed without their input—similar to the approach taken with The Crown. While the project is still in early stages, disagreements reportedly led Geri to withdraw her involvement, raising doubts about a full-group reunion. Geri's husband, Christian Horner, denied claims that he interfered with the deal, calling reports of a family documentary 'completely unfounded.'

Rihanna to reportedly reschedule postponed London comeback shows for 2026

Rihanna is reportedly planning to reschedule her postponed London Stadium shows for 2026, following a cancelled comeback tour originally expected this summer. According to The Sun, the singer and her team are working to finalise new dates, which could mark her return to the UK stage after nearly a decade. The initial rumour of a six-night residency at the London Stadium first surfaced in February via The Telegraph, which cited a 'senior concert industry source.' The first date was said to be scheduled for 4 July 2025, but no official announcement ever followed. A source told The Sun, 'Rihanna pulled the plug just days before her 2025 tour was due to be announced. There ended up being issues with production and scheduling conflicts, plus she didn't feel like her music was ready. But Rihanna and her team are now confident they can make it work for next year.' The revised 2026 dates are expected to align with the tenth anniversary of Rihanna's last studio album Anti, which was released in 2016. Fans can also look forward to new material, as Rihanna is reportedly preparing to share fresh music after years of anticipation. Earlier this year, she debuted the upbeat Afrobeats-inspired single Friend of Mine, created for the upcoming Smurfs animated film. Meanwhile, Rihanna is currently pregnant with her third child with A$AP Rocky, adding to the personal milestones surrounding her possible return to music and live performance.

JoJo Siwa's ex makes surprise couple debut after public split

Kath Ebbs is officially moving on. Just three months after being publicly dumped by JoJo Siwa following the Celebrity Big Brother finale, the 27-year-old content creator has gone Instagram official with a new partner, AFLW player Tilly Lucas-Rodd. The couple shared intimate photo booth snaps on Instagram, including a kiss and smiling embraces, confirming their relationship after weeks of speculation. 'The rumours are true! Yes I still (stupidly) believe in love,' Kath captioned the post. Tilly, 29, is a professional Australian Rules footballer for Hawthorn and the first AFLW player to undergo top surgery, which they documented on social media. They are non-binary and use they/them pronouns. Their flirty exchange with Kath first began on TikTok earlier in July when Kath posted a video with the caption, 'Hope this one doesn't cheat on me,' in a thinly veiled reference to JoJo. Another clip called Tilly her new 'crush,' with Tilly responding playfully in the comments. The social media reveal follows a very public breakup. JoJo, 21, reportedly ended things with Kath just hours after leaving the CBB house, where she had grown increasingly close with fellow contestant Chris Hughes. Their flirtatious behaviour raised eyebrows, especially since JoJo was still publicly with Kath at the time. After the finale, JoJo immediately began dating Chris and has since spoken openly about wanting to marry him. Fans have rallied behind Kath, flooding her comments with support. 'You definitely won that break-up,' one wrote. 'WAG era activated,' said another. Even pop singer Peach PRC joined in, commenting, 'YAAAYYY.' The reveal also came just hours after Kath was approached at the airport by paparazzo Jayden Seyfarth, who bombarded her with intrusive questions about JoJo. She remained calm but gave no comment. That same day, she introduced her new relationship to the world.
