M&D's Scotland's Theme Park was Highly Recommended for the 'Best Day Out category' at the 13th Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards.
The family favourite destination was also short-listed for 'Best Hospitality Employer' and 'Best Casual Dining' for its Monterey Jack's American themed diner.

Dame Cleo Laine, the Grammy-winning jazz singer renowned for her astonishing vocal range, scat singing mastery, and pioneering influence on British jazz, has died at the age of 97. Dame Cleo passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, according to a statement from her children, Jacqui and Alec Dankworth. 'It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our beloved mother Cleo's passing,' they said. 'She brought so much music and light into the world and into our lives. We ask for privacy as we remember her with love and gratitude.' Over a career spanning eight decades, she became a defining voice of British jazz, admired for her rich contralto tone, adventurous improvisation, and theatrical flair. She shared stages and studios with legends including Duke Ellington, Ray Charles, and Frank Sinatra. She was celebrated not only for her musical brilliance but also for blazing a trail for women and artists of colour in a genre then dominated by American men. Born Clementina Dinah Campbell in 1927 in Southall, west London, to a Jamaican father and English mother, Laine grew up in a musical household and began her working life as a hairdresser and part-time singer. Her breakthrough came in 1951 when she successfully auditioned for saxophonist Johnny Dankworth's band. Their professional collaboration soon blossomed into a lifelong partnership – the couple married in 1958 and remained together until Dankworth's death in 2010. Laine's career highlights included her historic 1973 performance at Carnegie Hall, which cemented her international reputation, and her Grammy win in 1986 for Cleo at Carnegie: The 10th Anniversary Concert. She also made history as the only female performer to be nominated for a Grammy in jazz, classical, and popular music categories. In 1997, she became the first British jazz singer to be made a dame, an honour that reflected her unique contribution to the nation's cultural life. Her accolades included honorary degrees, lifetime achievement awards, and a devoted fanbase that stretched from Soho jazz clubs to the world's grandest concert halls. Beyond the stage, Dame Cleo was deeply committed to music education. With her husband, she founded The Stables music venue and charity in Wavendon in 1970, transforming a converted stable block into a nationally recognised centre for performance and learning. Her loss is profound, but her passion continues through the lives she inspired.' Southwest Airlines flight takes dramatic plunge in response to nearby aircraft
The plane suddenly jolted shortly after takeover on Friday then felt like it was falling, said Stef Zamorano, who was flying to Las Vegas with her husband to celebrate his birthday. In front of her, Ms Zamorano said she saw a woman who was 'not wearing her seatbelt shoot up and out of her seat'. The man seated next to her was clutching her arm, and she said the woman across the aisle was panicking. 'She was pretty much verbalising how we all felt, saying, 'I want to get off this plane. I want to be on the ground,'' Ms Zamorano told The Associated Press. Data from the flight tracking site FlightAware shows it dropped roughly 300 feet (91.44 metres) in 36 seconds. The Federal Aviation Administration said the flight, Southwest 1496, was responding to an onboard alert about another aircraft in its vicinity. The FAA is investigating. Southwest said the crew responded to two alerts that required the pilot to climb then descend. The flight departed from Hollywood Burbank Airport just before noon. Still in shock, Ms Zamorano said she could hardly make out what the pilot was saying when he later addressed the passengers. Just now on SW Flight #1496 Burbank to Las Vegas. 'Pilot said his collision warning went off & he needed to avoid plane coming at us,' Dore posted. The plane was in the same airspace near Burbank as a Hawker Hunter Mk 58 just after noon local time, FlightAware shows. A Hawker Hunter is a British fighter plane. Records show it is owned by Hawker Hunter Aviation, a British defence contracting company. The company did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment. Mike Christensen, an airport spokesman for Hollywood Burbank, said that neither the control tower nor the operations department, which tracks planes departing and arriving, have any record of the Southwest flight plunging in their airspace. Southwest said the flight continued to Las Vegas, 'where it landed uneventfully'. The airline said that it is working with the FAA 'to further understand the circumstances' of the event. The close call is the latest incident to raise questions about aviation safety in the wake of January's mid-air collision over Washington DC, that killed 67 people.

Donald Trump in Scotland LIVE as US President to spend first day at Ayrshire golf course
Donald Trump is expected to spend much of his first day in Scotland on the golf course he owns in South Ayrshire. The US President drew crowds to Prestwick Airport on Friday evening as Air Force One touched down ahead of a four-day visit that will also take him to the club his family owns in Aberdeenshire. With a meeting scheduled with European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen on Sunday and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer understood to be making the trip north on Monday, Mr Trump - a well-known golf enthusiast - appears to be free to play the vaunted Turnberry course on Saturday. Elsewhere, however, Scots will be protesting against the visit. The Stop Trump Coalition has announced demonstrations in Edinburgh - near the American consulate in the Scottish capital - and another in Aberdeen in the days before his visit there.
