Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility, the regional representative of BYD in the UAE and KSA, and Parkin PJSC, the largest provider of paid public parking facilities and services in Dubai, have partnered to electrify Parkin's operational fleet, advancing the UAE's green mobility agenda. This public-private collaboration marks a significant step towards sustainable transportation in the region.
The agreement will see 40 BYD Song Plus plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) integrated into Parkin's fleet, enhancing efficiency, and promoting eco-friendly parking management. This partnership brings together two industry leaders: BYD, the world's leading New Energy Vehicle (electric and plug-in hybrid) manufacturer, and Parkin, which manages over 200,000 paid parking spaces across Dubai. The BYD Song Plus PHEVs are already in use, supporting Parkin's inspectors and personnel, enabling faster response times and improved service quality.

Beyond fleet deployment, the partnership will expand Dubai's EV charging infrastructure. Over the next two years, the companies will collaborate to install EV chargers in communities, multi-story facilities, and shopping malls, further encouraging the adoption of electrified vehicles and supporting the UAE's Net Zero 2050 goals.
Parkin, which manages operations in high-density areas such as Deira, Business Bay, and Jumeirah, serving nearly 4 million unique customers in 2023, is uniquely positioned to drive this transformation. With exclusive rights to operate and expand new parking facilities for Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Parkin is leading the evolution of parking and mobility services in the emirate.

Dubai Metro station officially renamed "National Paints"

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has granted the naming rights of Jebel Ali Metro Station to National Paints Factories Co. Ltd. (National Paints), the region's largest paints and coatings manufacturer. Strategically located in one of Dubai's most dynamic and rapidly evolving industrial hubs, Jebel Ali Free Zone, the station will now be known as National Paints Metro Station for the next 10 years. The agreement was signed between National Paints and Hypermedia, with Mada Media attending in its capacity as the authorised concessionaire appointed by RTA under a concession agreement between Mada Media and RTA. Providing further details, Abdul Mohsen Kalbat, CEO of the RTA's Rail Agency, said: "We are delighted to have National Paints join the Metro Station Naming Rights Initiative. The inclusion of this prestigious global company undoubtedly demonstrates the remarkable success achieved by this initiative, which had attracted diverse companies and establishments from the business sector across the UAE as a whole." Kalbat added: "The RTA is keen to expand and strengthen ties and cooperation with the business sector, not only in Dubai but also across the UAE. This cooperation reflects the government's approach to consolidating cooperation with the private sector based on the exchange of knowledge and expertise and the provision of business opportunities for this sector, which is considered a strategic partner of the government sector. This cooperation also plays a pivotal role in creating promising job opportunities that attract diverse specialisations, enriching the business sector and contributing to the growth of UAE's GDP in general, and the Emirate of Dubai's, in particular.' Minister Al-Bitar praised the Kingdom's continuous financial and political support, emphasizing the importance of this contribution in alleviating the severe financial crisis faced by Palestine amid recent Israeli policies. He expressed deep appreciation for the Kingdom's historic and steadfast stance in support of the Palestinian people. He also conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, thanking them for their consistent political, economic, and humanitarian support. For his part, Moanes explained that this financial aid reflects the Kingdom's commitment to supporting the Palestinian government and enabling it to meet its financial obligations. He highlighted the significance of this support in strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people and easing their economic and humanitarian hardships. He reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment to supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, noting that the Kingdom has provided approximately $5.3 billion in recent years. This aid has included humanitarian, relief, and development assistance in support of the State of Palestine. It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia provides financial assistance to Palestine targeting critical sectors—particularly health and education—including coverage of hospital expenses, procurement of medicines and medical equipment, and payment of salaries for medical staff, teachers, and administrative employees in the Ministry of Education, in addition to operational expenses for schools.
