Emirates launches third daily Dubai to Mauritius flight

Emirates has announced a big update for travellers seeking a tropical island getaway. The world's largest international airline will soon fly three times per day from Dubai to Mauritius. Starting on Monday December 1, Dubai travellers will get three different options throughout the day to get to the popular island destination. Announced on Monday July 21, the airline revealed that the new third daily flight will complement the existing schedules and support the travel plans of Emirates customers. The additional daily service will take off from Dubai International Airport at 6.55am GST and arrive in Mauritius at 1.40pm local time. Return flights will depart Mauritius at 6.30pm local time and arrive at DXB at 1.10am the following day. (Credit: CanvaPro) The addition of a third daily service comes as the result of a codeshare agreement between Emirates and Air Mauritius. The codeshare will provide convenient flight timings to support travel itineraries and allow for connectivity from the Middle East, Europe and the Americas from the Indian Ocean holiday spot. Additionally, the new third daily service will provide more connections from and to the far east with Emirates promoting Mauritius to audiences in Japan, China, Malaysia and Hong Kong. The service will be operated by a Boeing 777 aircraft and provide seats in first class, business class and economy class. Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer said that the wide-body aircraft will allow more travellers to get to Mauritius. He said: 'We would like to thank the Mauritian authorities for making an additional daily service possible. 'We have been proudly serving Mauritius since 2002 and our double daily A380 services have been a major success and contributor to the growth of the country's tourism industry. 'The additional daily service on our wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft will enable a more than 30 percent increase in capacity on the route, while also providing additional flight options for leisure and business travellers to seamlessly connect to flights.'
