Selena Gomez's Oscars look was made with over 16,000 drops of glass

Selena Gomez is no stranger to old Hollywood glamour, having wowed awards season with a succession of stunningly chic retro-inspired outfits.
At Sunday's Oscars, the 'Emilia Perez' star opted for another classic look, arriving on the red carpet in an off-the-shoulder custom Ralph Lauren number with an impressive detail: over 16,000 drops of glass and hand-sewn Rosemont crystals arranged into a lattice pattern. The dress was made by a team of 12 Italian artisans who airbrushed the glass to achieve a pink ombré finish that shimmered with each movement.
Gomez completed the look with a peachy nude lip and a wavy bob, as well as a dazzling diamond choker and drop earrings.
The star's stylist, Erin Walsh, told E! News that the pair were looking to channel 'movie star magic' and were inspired by Sophia Loren, one of Italy's most famous actresses. Gomez and Walsh even consulted the Hollywood icon's former tailor while planning the look, the stylist revealed.
On a glamorous night at LA's Dolby Theatre, the standout look was one of several that were dripping in sparkling embellishments.
During a performance for the Academy's 'James Bond' tribute, Doja Cat sparkled in a custom Swarovski gown made using over one million crystals. Lily-Rose Depp wore a plunging custom lacy black halter dress by Chanel that featured about 191,000 embroidery elements, including black sequins, crystals and pearls. And Ariana Grande, whose stunning Schiaparelli gown — recently seen on the label's Spring-Summer 2025 Haute Couture runway — came alive with over 190,000 crystal sequins, rhinestones and cut beads.
Gowns in blush pink shades were also trending on the evening's carpet.
Gomez arrived at the award show with fiance Benny Blanco in tow, before co-presenting the Best Documentary Short Film and Best Documentary Feature categories alongside Samuel L. Jackson. Her film 'Emilia Perez' was nominated for 13 Oscars, including Best Picture, but only saw two wins — for Best Supporting Actress (Zoe Saldaña) and Best Original Song (for 'El Mal').
The actress has been among the 2025 awards season's best-dressed. Just last week she appeared at the Screen Actors Guild awards in a romantic Celine gown, and at January's Golden Globes, she described her light blue Prada gown as 'Cinderella meets Jackie O' to E!.

Why Tracee Ellis Ross Only Brings 2 Pairs of Underwear When Traveling

Originally appeared on E! Online is getting intimate about her delicates. The Black-ish alum made a shocking reveal while sharing exactly how much she packs on a trip. 'There's always one bathing suit, a flip flop and one little dress I can roll up,' Tracee, 52, said July 15 during Travel + Leisure's annual World's Best Summit in NYC, according to People. 'There's always two undies.' But after fans took that information and ran with it on social media, she later clarified that she makes sure to pack two pairs in her carry-on—in addition to plenty more in her checked luggage. "I am a habitual overpacker and I always check at least 4 bags with plenty of underwear," she wrote on her Instagram Stories. "Y'all need to quit it!! I ain't got time for this, I'm on vacation!" Even so, she revealed that she typically hand washes her undergarments—including bras, swimsuits and panties—and allows them to air dry while traveling. 'If I'm gone for a month on this trip, you can't pack a month's worth of underwear,' Tracee explained. 'How do you do that? They take up a lot of space.' More from E! 'Hello, so I've been away for quite a while—I don't know it's been like two weeks,' Tracee told the camera in a July 15 TikTok as she wrung out black underwear into a sink. 'And I have a couple of delicates. How much underwear can you bring on a trip? So, it's a handwashing day in Paris. And I'm going to show you some of my hacks.' First, she fills one sink with shower gel and her underwear and then scrubs them, 'like a washing machine,' before transferring them to another sink filled with cold water. She then washes each pair with a bar of soap, letting them rise and soak—as she alternates sinks—ending the first step by wringing them out. In a follow-up video, the Girlfriends alum sat on a floor as she demonstrated the final step, placing all of the black undergarments on a towel, rolling it up, and standing on it, then hanging them on a towel rack to dry. Sharing the hotel amenity that makes the process smoother, Tracee added, 'And in this fancy hotel, the towel rack is heated. So, it's going to dry quickly.' And while Tracee—whose new Roku series Solo Traveling with Tracee Ellis Ross premieres July 25—loves sharing tips with the world, she embraces her alone time on vacation more. 'It's very important to me,' Tracee told Travel + Lesure in an interview published in 2023. 'Solo travel, in particular, is how I've come to know and honor myself.' Grieving partner shares tragic final footage of daredevil Felix Baumgartner moments before fatal crash

The grieving partner of famed skydiver Felix Baumgartner shared tragic footage of the extreme athlete's final flight — just moments before he crashed and died. The 56-year-old — who was renowned as the first skydiver to fall faster than the speed of sound — died on Thursday in a paragliding accident in the Italian town of Porto Sant'Elpidio. The Austrian daredevil reportedly fell ill and lost consciousness while flying a motorized paraglider. 'Burb Bites: Stacco House by Mammamia's masterful meatball sandwich

This week's bite is a recommendation for anyone seeking the comfort of Italian home cooking in HamCo. The bite(s): A meatball sandwich ($12), mixed berry butter cookies ($1.85 each) and a slice of chocolate ganache cake ($7.70) from Stacco House by Mammamia. The 'burb: Carmel. My take: Before we even get to the meatballs, we've got to talk about this baguette. It's toasted to perfection with a crispy exterior and fluffy interior that blends beautifully with layers of tomato sauce and melted mozzarella. The tender, all-beef meatballs packed inside are the real deal. They're too big for the bun in the best way. It's also extremely well-balanced. It's hard to find a meatball sandwich that is saucy and cheesy without also being greasy and heavy, but Stacco House nailed it. I actually felt like I was losing weight with each bite. Reality check: I know that's not true. So does my scale. But a guy can dream. The vibe: Nestled next to Fat Dan's Deli on Main Street, walking into Stacco House feels like walking into a family member's kitchen while they're in the middle of preparing for company. It's a smaller space that encourages grabbing and going, but you'll want to loiter inside just to drool over the cakes, cookies and cannoli in the bakery case. The welcoming vibes were reinforced when chef Lucio Romani walked out of the kitchen to hand deliver me my sandwiches the moment they were done and bid me farewell with a warm "see you soon." Fun fact: The restaurant is named in honor of Romani's father who was called "Stacco" by all his friends. According to the owners, Stacco directly translates to "a horse that is young, strong, and healthy" in his late father's dialect. When talking about a person, it means they are very beautiful or handsome. If you go: 834 W. Main St., Suite 130, 11am-9pm Tuesday-Sunday.
