Bodyguard for Megan Thee Stallion's former friend Kelsey Harris claims she admitted to shooting rapper, not Tory Lanez
The saga of Tory Lanez (Daystar Peterson) and Megan Thee Stallion (Megan Pete) cannot seem to end.
Lanez, who was recently stabbed 14 times in a prison altercation, is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for, among other things, shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in 2020 after an argument. Lanez has maintained his innocence in the shooting; the only other person (aside from the driver of the SUV they were riding in) was Meg's former best friend, Kelsey Harris.
In a press conference held by Lanez's legal team, Unite The People, Walter Roberts, the lead legal consultant for the organization, alleges that Lanez didn't shoot Megan. According to Roberts, United The People was approached by Bradley James, the bodyguard and driver for Kelsey Harris during Lanez's trial, who allegedly overheard Harris admit to being the shooter.
'Mr. James informed Unite The People that he was witness to the conversation Ms. Harris had where she stated she had the gun, she fired it three times,' Roberts shared with reporters. 'Mr. Peterson (Lanez) grabbed her arm and knocked it down and the gun fired two more times. In essence, Mr. Peterson never shot anybody…never even touched that gun. Never fired the gun.'
According to Unite the People's website, it is a California-based nonprofit organization formed in 2014 by a 'small group of concerned citizens, defense attorneys, and families and friends of incarcerated loved ones.' Its stated goal is to 'fight for social justice and deal with our national problems of mass incarceration and the need for prison and sentencing reform.'
Roberts claims that the statement 'aligns' with the testimony given by witness Sean Kelly, who said he saw two women fighting and two men intervening before one man grabbed one of the women's arms. Kelly also claimed that gunshots came from the passenger side of the vehicle, where Harris was sitting, according to court testimony.
In reference to why James, who did not sign any non-disclosure or confidentiality agreements with Harris, is speaking out now, Roberts said James was doing it because 'his conscience would not let him not speak and leave a man in prison for something he did not do.'
Megan Thee Stallion has not yet responded to Unite The People's claims.More must-reads:

Microsoft server hack has now hit 400 victims, researchers say
A sweeping cyber-espionage campaign organization centered on vulnerable versions of Microsoft's server software has now claimed about 400 victims, according to researchers at Netherlands-based Eye Security. The figure, which is derived from a count of digital artifacts discovered during scans of servers running vulnerable versions of Microsoft's SharePoint software, compares to 100 organizations cataloged over the weekend. Eye Security says the figure is likely an undercount. "There are many more, because not all attack vectors have left artifacts that we could scan for," said Vaisha Bernard, the chief hacker for Eye Security, which was among the first organizations to flag the breaches. The details of most of the victim organizations have not yet been fully disclosed, but on Wednesday a representative for the National Institutes of Health confirmed that one of the organization's servers had been compromised. "Additional servers were isolated as a precaution," he said. The news of the compromise was first reported by the Washington Post. The spy campaign kicked off after Microsoft failed to fully patch a security hole in its SharePoint server software, kicking off a scramble to fix the vulnerability when it was discovered. Microsoft and its tech rival, Google owner Alphabet, have both said Chinese hackers are among those taking advantage of the flaw. Beijing has denied the claim.

500 NYC cabs will use cameras to fight fraud ‘cartels' that stage phony accidents, ditch fares
A new pilot program will equip 500 New York City cabs with vehicle surveillance cameras in a new effort to combat the 'cartel' behind a $1 billion insurance fraud scam targeting taxis. 'Operation Bright Eyes' puts eyes inside Big Apple cabs to snuff out ride-and-run scammers and insurance fraudsters who fake accidents to cash in on potentially lucrative payouts. 'We have cartels that have built their fortune on our industry,' Fernando Mateo, a spokesman for the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers, told The Post this week. 'These cartels fabricate car accidents to the tune of 70% of every car accident for livery and black cars are fraudulent. And these cartels are comprised of lawyers, doctors, physical therapists, and of course those that are making these accidents happen. They are making billions of dollars on us.' The project, a partnership with dashcam company Displayride, American Transit Insurance and Queens-based NYAB Brokerage, will equip the 500 cabs in less than 30 days — with a goal of eventually having 100,000 taxis wired for video, organizers said. Another Bronx driver, Eltayeb Mohamed, said one pal had to dole out $24,000 in one insurance scam. 'The lady backed up and said, 'I'm OK, are you OK? OK, you can leave,'' Mohamed said. 'My friend left and then she called the police and say he hit and run.'
