Dutch Far-Right Leader Quits Ruling Coalition Over Migration Plan
Amsterdam:
Dutch far right leader Geert Wilders said on Tuesday his PVV party would leave the governing coalition, toppling the right wing government and likely leading to new elections.
Wilders said his coalition partners were not willing to embrace his ideas on halting asylum migration, for which he had demanded immediate support last week.
"No signature under our asylum plans. The PVV leaves the coalition," Wilders said in a post on X.
Wilders' surprise move ends an already fragile coalition which has struggled to reach any consensus since its installation last July.
It will likely bring new elections in a few months, adding to political uncertainty in the euro zone's fifth-largest economy.
It will likely also delay a decision on a possibly historic increase in defense spending to meet new NATO targets.
And it will leave the Netherlands with only a caretaker government when it receives NATO country leaders for a summit to decide on these targets in The Hague later this month.
Anti-Muslim populist Wilders won the most recent election in the Netherlands, but recent polls have shown he has lost support since joining government.
Polls now put his party roughly at par with the Labour/Green combination that is currently the second-largest in parliament.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national vice-president A.P. Abdullakutty countered Mr. Karassery, recounting the beginning of the concept of 'Bharat Mata'. He said the concept of 'Bharat Mata' was rooted in the culture and tradition of the country. 'Those who criticise the Governor over the use of the 'Bharat Mata' portrait are playing dirty politics. Their intention is appeasement of the Muslim community. But they are underestimating the Muslims of this country. They are not that shallow,' he said. He used the opportunity to demand that the Prime Minister come up with a unified image of Bharat Mata against the backdrop of the differences of opinion regarding it and to include the said image among the official symbols of the country. Director of Keluettan Study and Research Centre and Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader K.T. Kunhikannan pointed out that the Constitution does not support the concept of 'Bharat Mata' and that someone in a constitutional post shall hence not use it in official programmes. 'Myths are not part of history. The nation is made of history. The concept of 'Bharat' as well as 'Bharat Mata' are myths,' he said. Calicut Press Club president E.P. Mohammed was the moderator of the session.

CPI accuses AINRC-BJP government of making Dalit Ministers scapegoat in their power struggle
The Communist Party of India has accused the AINRC-BJP government of making Ministers belonging to the Dalit community 'scapegoats' in their internal power struggle. In a statement, party secretary A. M. Saleem said the AINRC-BJP combine which came to power in Puducherry after the 2021 Assembly polls had failed to deliver on its promises. The ruling camp was full of contradictions and caught in a power struggle, he said. 'In 2023, Chandira Priyanga, a Dalit member belonging to the AINRC was dropped from the Cabinet. 435 maoists killed in 18 months of anti-naxal operations in Chhattisgarh; 48 were women: official data
NEW DELHI: Over the past 18 months, security forces have achieved significant success in anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh, neutralising 435 Maoists, including a record 48 women operatives, officials said on Saturday. According to official data accessed by TNIE, women now account for approximately 10% of the total Maoists killed between 2024 and June 20 2025, the highest number of female Naxal casualties recorded in any such period since 2001. The sharp increase in neutralisation of Maoist operatives 198 in 2025 alone marks a significant blow to Left Wing Extremism (LWE) in the region.
