Donald Trump? Well, he's President of the United States. The Epstein saga of sex trafficking underage girls to his coterie of wealthy and powerful pals has never really gone away —too many unanswered questions. But the narrative got a shot of adrenaline, thanks to Trump. MAXWELL: The Queen Bee. (USDOJ) It is a convoluted tale. My old friend Barry Levine, author of The Spider: Inside the Criminal Web of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell , tried to answer some of our questions. Remember when Trump was going to unseal the Epstein files? We do. He has now backtracked. 'She tried the regular playbook of the appeal process, but she's not getting anywhere. They are not going to approve any sentencing discount and are standing by prosecutors.' Levine believes Maxwell hopes her old friend POTUS will grant her a pardon. Currently, Maxwell is setting conditions for being interviewed by DOJ lawyers. She no doubt wants out. 'She is an evil, evil predator,' Levine said. 'She told her friends that 'these girls are nothing but trash'. She was the one who recruited the girls, groomed them, and promised their parents they would get music lessons, voice lessons, and acting lessons. The girls were being thrown to wolves.' She still has friends in high places, and they have buckets of dough. Maxwell singing the tune of 'what businessman, politician or celebrity had sex with an underage girl' would have a nice ring to it for the hoi polloi who have been screaming for answers. 'Could Donald Trump pardon her? Absolutely,' Levine said, adding that the president's record with the opposite sex is less than sparkling. 'He could let Maxwell off the hook. 'That's how she met Epstein, through Trump. And there is no question that he and Epstein were chasing women together. Epstein threw a party that was all women, except for him and Trump,' Epstein said. 'He went from 'Jeff's a terrific guy' to 'Jeff's a creep'.' Once, Trump was a strong advocate for unsealing the Epstein files. But that changed. Levine believes that while there may be nothing sinister in the files about the commander-in-chief, there could be embarrassment. As for the renewed conspiracy theories that Epstein was murdered in his Manhattan jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking, Levine torpedoes that idea. AFP via Getty Images Most worrisome for Trump, it's catching fire among his most devout MAGA followers. 'What are they holding back, and why are they holding back if suicide is so clear-cut?' Levine said. 'His MAGA base believes there's something there. This is a mess of his own making, and no one is satisfied. He's fueling this every day by making outrageous statements.' On Wednesday, Trump proclaimed that the tragic $9 an hour Mar-A-Lago teen towel girl turned Epstein sex slave Virginia Giuffre had been 'stolen' from him. 'If there is a cover-up, what exactly are they trying to cover up?' Me? I think Epstein topped himself. But looking at the lengths to which the powers that be seem to be muddying the waters, it makes you wonder. Create Account The joint statement said the countries are united in their opposition to attempts to 'kill, kidnap and harass' people in North America and Europe. The statement was also signed by the governments of Albania, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States. It said Iranian intelligence services are increasingly collaborating with international criminal organizations to target journalists, dissidents, Jewish citizens and current and former government officials. The statement did not cite any specific incidents but said the attacks violate the countries' sovereignty and calls on Iranian authorities to 'immediately' put an end to illegal activities. In 2022, Ottawa declared Iran's leaders — including senior government and security agency officials — inadmissible to Canada due to involvement in terrorism and human rights violations. The Canada Border Services Agency said last month that three people were found ineligible to remain in Canada in recent years because they were senior officials of the Iranian regime. Deportation orders were issued for all three and one has been removed from Canada. Hostilities in the Middle East have drawn more attention to the possible activities of Iranian regime representatives in Canada. The border agency has said it works very closely with domestic and international partners by sharing relevant information on border and national security issues. Trump says Epstein ‘stole' Virginia Giuffre from Mar-a-Lago spa
U.S. President Donald Trump suggested on Tuesday that he ended his friendship with disgraced financier and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein because he poached employees from the president's Mar-a-Lago estate, including Virginia Giuffre — one of Epstein's most high-profile accusers who died by suicide earlier this year. Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One while returning to Washington, D.C., from Scotland on Tuesday that some of the workers taken from him were young women. 'The answer is yes, they were. People that worked in the spa,' he said. Another journalist asked Trump if one of the people he was suggesting Epstein 'stole' from his staff was Giuffre. 'I think she worked at the spa,' Trump replied. 'I think so. I think that was one of the people, yeah. He stole her. And by the way, she had no complaints about us, as you know. None whatsoever.' Last week, a spokesperson for the president, Steven Cheung, said Trump 'kicked him out of his club for being a creep.' Giuffre claimed in a lawsuit that she was poached by Epstein's aide, Ghislaine Maxwell, from the spa at Mar-a-Lago in 2000, at the age of 16. Jeenah Moon / Getty Images The Trump administration has been working to shift the narrative away from Epstein in recent weeks after becoming embroiled in a self-inflicted battle with its own supporters, prompted by Trump's failure to deliver on a promise to release the Epstein files. Moreover, the president's latest claims about Epstein bring Giuffre into the picture years before Trump claims to have cut ties with Epstein. Story continues below advertisement Giuffre claimed to have been hired away from Mar-a-Lago in 2000. In 2002, Trump told New York Magazine that he had 'known Jeff for 15 years,' and that he was a 'terrific guy.' According to the Guardian, Miami Herald investigative reporter Sarah Blaskey noted in her 2020 book about Mar-a-Lago that Epstein stayed on the membership list of the estate until October 2007. He was first arrested more than a year before for soliciting prostitution from a minor.
