Nottingham Forest signs Brazilian center back Jair Cunha from Botafogo
The Premier League club said the 20-year-old was given a five-year contract. Financial details were not given.
Cunha with the Brazilian side Botafogo reached the round of 16 at the Club World Cup in the United States. Cunha scored one goal at the tournament.
He joined Botafogo in February after making his first 24 senior appearances with another Brazilian club, Santos, for which he played since he was 10.
Forest will return to European football for the first time since 1996 after finishing seventh in the Premier League.
'Jair has flourished in Brazil and now has new ambitions as he moves to the Premier League,' Forest's chief football officer Ross Wilson said.

West Ham to sign free agent Callum Wilson on one-year deal
West Ham are set to sign Callum Wilson on a free transfer. The 33-year-old, who has already completed a medical, has agreed a one-year contract with a heavily incentive-based salary. The striker will join the squad upon their return from their pre-season tour of the United States, where they are contesting the Premier League Summer Series. Wilson endured another injury-hit season at Newcastle last year, starting just two Premier League games. The former Bournemouth hitman suffered back and hamstring injuries and failed to find the net once in the league for the first time in his professional career. West Ham were in the market for a striker this summer and identified Wilson, who has scored 88 Premier League goals, as a Premier League-proven option up top. Wilson becomes West Ham's third signing of the window after the arrivals of El Hadji Malick Diouf and Kyle Walker-Peters. Michail Antonio last month scored twice on his first start his horror car crash in December 2024. The 35-year-old was named in the West Ham Under-21s starting XI to face Boreham Wood and scored twice in the first 20 minutes.

🚨 BREAKING: Newcastle complete loan signing of Aaron Ramsdale
Newcastle United have completed the signing of Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale on a season-long loan with an option to buy. The deal includes a sizeable fee, and serves as an alternative to long-term target James Trafford, who turned down the club in favour of a return to Manchester City. Eddie Howe previously worked with the 27-year-old while at Bournemouth, and he becomes the club's second signing of a difficult summer after Anthony Elanga. As well as Trafford, the likes of Hugo Ekitike, Liam Delap and Bryan Mbeumo have all gone elsewhere despite interest from the Magpies, while star man Alexander Isak has asked to leave the club. Ramsdale only joined Southampton in a £25m deal from Arsenal last summer, but now departs following relegation, and will look to challenge Nick Pope for the first-choice position at St. James' Park. 📸 Dan Istitene - 2025 Getty Images
