Jessica Simpson Handled Her Wardrobe Malfunction on ‘The Today Show' Like a Champ
The multihyphenate made a rare appearance during the July 23 episode of The Today Show, where she performed fan-favorite tracks like 'With You' and 'I Think I'm in Love With You,' along with her latest single, 'Fade.'
Of course, during one of her first TV gigs in nearly 15 years, Jessica faced an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction when her satin corseted gown slipped down to reveal a pink bra. The Dukes of Hazzard alum walked it off like a champ, though, as she seamlessly pulled her dress back in place mid-performance.
After her performance, she even joked about the incident with the Today hosts, saying, 'Of course I had a malfunction here and everywhere, but it's okay. I think my boobs stayed in, so it's okay.'
Her Today appearance comes after her American Idol season 23 finale performance, which marked her first TV performance after a nearly 15-year hiatus. She gushed about the 'insane' opportunity to return to her musical roots, and admitted that she was a little nervous to get back out there.
'Today it was like, 'Okay, get out of your head. Get out of your head. Who cares if your shoe falls off? Who cares if you forget a lyric?'' she explained. 'Honestly, it's just about being able to be up there and be vulnerable and that feels really beautiful.'
She also sat down for an interview with Jenna Bush Hager, where she opened up about the emotions that making music brings out of her following her divorce from Eric Johnson. 'You can find blessings in the pain,' she explained.
The 'Irresistible' hitmaker added, 'You can find beauty in the pain, and I think I want my daughters and my son to know that. No matter what we go through in life, nothing can take us down...as long as we know who we are and we know our purpose. We're guided by that.'

Hollywood Icon, 80, Appears in a New Movie With Son After Career Confession
Hollywood Icon, 80, Appears in a New Movie With Son After Career Confession originally appeared on Parade. Michael Douglas said he wouldn't go back to acting unless a 'special' opportunity presented itself – and it looks like the perfect project fell in his lap. The TODAY show shared the first teaser for the upcoming film Looking Through Water, a movie in which Michael, 80, will star alongside his eldest son, Cameron Douglas. In the clip, the Hollywood legend was seen in character as he chatted with a seemingly troubled young boy, who displayed a massive black eye. While sitting in a fishing boat in a pond-like body of water, dramatic clips of the movie flashed on screen, introducing Cameron, 46, to viewers. Looking Through Water follows a family's troubled dynamic, bouncing from one storyline to another – all while intertwined. Michael's character, however, will attempt to repair an estranged relationship with his son while competing in a fishing competition together. Walker Scobell, David Morse, Michael Stahl-David, Ximena Romo and Tamara Tunie will also star in the film. Looking Through Water will premiere in theatres on September 12. Michael and Cameron's onscreen collaboration marks more than two decades since they first co-starred in the 2003 film It Runs in the Family. The Fatal Attraction star welcomed Cameron with ex-wife Diandra Luker on December 13, 1978. Michael later welcomed his youngest children, Dylan Douglas and Carys Douglas, during his marriage to his current wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones. The news of Michael's new movie may come as a shock to some fans, as the Wall Street actor recently shared that he is slowly closing the curtain on his acting career. "I have not worked since 2022 purposefully because I realized I had to stop,' Michael told Variety in July of his battle with stage 4 cancer following his 2010 diagnosis. 'I had been working pretty hard for almost 60 years, and I did not want to be one of those people who dropped dead on the set. I have no real intentions of going back. I say I'm not retired because if something special came up, I'd go back, but otherwise, no." 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Hollywood Icon, 80, Appears in a New Movie With Son After Career Confession first appeared on Parade on Aug 4, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Aug 4, 2025, where it first appeared. Marc Jacobs Drops All-New 72 Spring Sneaker
Marc Jacobsisn't known for running sneakers. Aligning with his bold personality, the NYC-based designer's footwear has always been more dramatic than particularly functional: think knee-high platform heels and glossily leather loafers. But today he's unveiled the 72 Spring Sneaker, a Y2k-inspired tech runner unlike anything the designer has introduced before. The model arrives at the tail-end of a wave of flat-soled vintage sneaker silhouettes coming from designer labels includingMiu Miu's Gymnasium,Loewe's Flow, andDries Van Noten's Suede model. Before the 72 Spring Sneaker, Jacobs' existing sneaker silhouettes had grown dated, with shoes like the Lazy Runner and Jogger characterized by a flamboyant chunky silhouette. The latest sneaker is noticeably slimmer, but it includes a busier upper composed of mesh and various technical-looking overlays. Eye-catching colorways like a fuchsia/green variant and a yellow/brown variant stand out, while all-black and all-white options offer a more discreet version. Elsewhere, a distressed denim version marks the biggest contrast in the assortment, featuring frayed threads and an indigo twill textile upper, and an all-brown suede provides a dose of elegance. There's a reason why the design is so distinct from the designer's other footwear models. Marc Jacobs tapped design and engineering studio Areté to master the model. With footwear clients likeRaf Simons,Stone Island,ERL, andA-Cold-Wall, it's no wonder that the 72 Spring feels much more sophisticated than, say, the Marc Jacobs Jogger. The model surely has legs, with a sensibility comparable to Miu Miu andNew Balance's popular530collaboration and other trending models. The unusually diverse color assortment plants the seed for future developments, perhaps turning up embellishments, experimenting with new materials, or opening the design to collaborations. Marc Jacobs' surprise sneaker drop comes just a week after multiple reports hinted at a possible sale of the brand from LVMH to another brand management firm. As of the time of writing, the rumors have yet to be confirmed by Marc Jacobs and LVMH. The Marc Jacobs 72 Spring Sneaker is offered at $225 USD at the officialMarc Jacobs webstoreand select retail locations.
